On a late Friday afternoon my wife detected a small amount of water on the kitchen floor by the refrigerator.We called another company that we had done business with over the years and was told they couldn't get to us until Monday.In the meantime the water was starting to seep under the neighboring hardwood floors.We remembered Paschall and gave them a call and explained the emergency .In less than a half hour Matt arrived and disconnected the water line to the refrigerator, ordered a new part, and had it installed in a week.Imagine the damage that would had been done if we had to wait until Monday. read more

EXPENSIVE. Very expensive. Get a second quote from another company and you will see a price difference. I was quoted an estimate on a proposal and thought that the company would be fair in its pricing. After having a bush removed, a hole dug and a sewer riser pipe replaced the bill came to $4200. For six hours of work comes out to $700/hr which is price gouging . I found out later that the company uses a flat fee that covers everything and it is up to the homeowner to accept it or not. The technician was there and ready to do the work so I accepted thinking it would go cheaper but NO. It was never explained to me that this was a flat fee and not based on hours worked. I was going to have them replace my water heater but NOT now as I will never pay for their services again or would never recommend this company because of their pricing policy. And then it turns out the technician took a piece the piece of plywood when opening the wall and now I have to hire a carpenter to fabricate and install this piece in order for the stucco people to complete the repair. Terrible. I hope your year end numbers make you happy while I am poorer during the holidays. This is what gives the industry a bad name. Go look somewhere else as there are plenty more companies. While this company did not come out and do any service on my home. I think it is imperative that people who want to use this company know, that whomever drives their van around town is a reckless and careless driver. I read some reviews on here that they are quick to respond which is great but there is no need to speed through a school zone and weave in and out of lanes. Joe, the tech was very professional and patiently listened to my non-technical description of the problem and explained what he found wrong and got to it. Charged me $240 after applying $40 discount for 45 minutes of work to screw on a new Drafos circulation pump on my water heater. I provided the pump that I bought new on-line for $189. Technician told my wife that the high fees were because of Trump's tariff war with China increased the company's operating expenses. BS ! read more

Technicians were quick to arrive and did good job fixing a very minor problem. Charged over $400 for a clogged pipe. While identifying the problem a mass amount and water and feces were drained onto our floor, which was "not their problem." When I called in to inquire about the predicament I was told, "I didn't come over, take a crap in your toilet and clog it, so it's not my fault." Kudos on running a top class business fellas! Pascual plumbing heating is one of the best if not the best plumbing company in our community. Very flexible very easy to work with. The technician was polite courteous wore his little booties when he came into the house was able to diagnose the problem of my heater immediately. Because it was an expensive repair I was able to make payments to them. Office staff very professional easy to speak to nonthreatening non-intimidating. They did their job and I would highly highly recommend this company. Paschall Plus is a company run by unscrupulous individuals in my opinion. The worse being the dispatcher. He is very nice as he lies to you. The cost that he quoted me on parts was four times the market value for the same parts. This I found out later. His incompetent technicians will gouge you for every $100.00 that they can get out of you. The so called Tech, worked 6 hours to do the work of a competent tech, that would have taken one hour. They work on commission, and it's to their benefit to inflate the charges. Don't ask for a statement of charges listing parts and labor. You won't get it. Their fee is based on your neighborhood, house value, car, toys in the garage, and the weather circumstances of the situation. Cold weather...higher price. Avoid this company and don't make the mistake that I made in selecting them. Don't trust anything that they tell you. That is my opinion of Paschall Plus. Take it for what is worth to you. read more

Do not hesitate to get a second opinion on their quotes... I recently had them come in to look at my furnace, and after $129 on the diagnostic work (which is much higher than most HVAC's in the area) I was told the furnace heat exchanger was defective and the furnace would need to be replaced (which they would be happy to do). I called another company (One-Hour) for a second opinion, and the problem was fixed in 20 min for under $200. I don't know what the cost of a new furnace would have been, as ironically, I never received quotes from Paschall On a side note, be aware that the old $40 coupons they issued do not mention you can't use them for diagnostic services. I tried to use it and they wouldn't let me, they then handed me a new $40 coupon that stated it couldn't be used for diagnostics. I called asking for some explanation on being charged $129 for a solution that would have cost me close to $4,000 without any more thought given to the issue. I was told that is how it is, and no refund would be given on the service charge. The take away - there are some great HVAC's in Reno, and I would start with some others, and call around for a lower diagnostic price. If you do go with Paschall, I would recommend seeking a second opinion. read more

WARNING...this company does not stand by their products! Last July my mother had a pump replaced in her swamp cooler. When Paschall came to do the annual service a couple days ago the pump needed to be replaced. When addressing this issue with the owner Bruce she was told that he had to do the same with his and instead of replacing the product for free for her (since she had just purchased one) he only offered a minor discount. The discounted price was over $300. Upon examing the first pump it was discovered that there was a stamp indicating no warranty on it. Terrible customer service and low quality product! I would give zero stars if it were an option! read more

These guys did good work on a not-very-complicated job (I could have done it myself if I had the tools, and yes, I understand I'm paying for equipment, knowledge and overhead as well as labor). But they quoted my wife a price that she accepted without understanding what was involved, and when they were done, it came to between $600 and $700 per hour for one man. I mentioned this to a neighbor, and he said Paschall installed a simple gate valve in a one-inch pipe in his yard, less than an hour total, and charged him $575. I'd get estimates elsewhere before I hired these guys again. read more

I am repeatedly impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism and dependability of this company. I had used them within the last year when water was streaming from my dining room ceiling. They did a fantastic job. Last night, which was Saturday, I called after 5 p.m. because water was pouring out from under my sink and they returned my call in minutes. Bruce, made sure I had everything shut off and under control before we decided the plumber could come in the morning. They had someone out first thing in the morning who took care of everything quickly and efficiently. The plumber they sent, Jeremy, was delightful and not only fixed everything but explained exactly what needed to be done prior to starting the work. I would NEVER consider using another plumbing company. When I have a plumbing problem, I call Paschall immediately. Bruce always takes care of scheduling me as soon as he has someone available. All of the people he has sent out have always been first class. I have more contact with Rob than with any other of the techs, and I really like having him take care of any problems that arise. (3) Third call repair frozen pipes and install new outside bib. Rated 3 star, fair price. Plumber sat wall on fire while wielding. Button up the wall and left. I went out to put things in garage away, when I saw the smoke. But accidents do happen to the best of us. (4) Forth call replace parts in tank on toilet. Needed new toilet and install. I requested the least expensive. Charged $450 for new toilet with install. When the job was completed informed that somewhere in the future will need to have more work done because one of the bolts holding the toilet the the floor is broken off. Rated 2 stars, overcharged, ripped off, taken to the crapper on the price. read more

I've been in the Reno area for a dozen years and have tried several different plumbing companies. When I finally found Paschall last year, I quit looking. They are friendly and helpful. They actually called with updates on when the tech would arrive and showed up on time. They did the work I asked them to do (others charged me for showing up but not actually doing the job I requested.). They aren't the cheapest company around, but I'd rather have the job done right than have problems down the road. In the long run, that saves me money and water damage to my house. read more

My wife and I recently contacted Paschall Plumbing regarding a slow leak that we had occurring behind our shower/bathtub. Joe showed up promptly at the appointment time and managed to diagnose our slow leak quickly and efficiently. He gave us a number of price options to choose from regarding the work, which was quite expensive. He left to obtain a number of parts that he did not have on his truck and returned quickly to complete the necessary repairs. He explained the repairs that he was making to me and also suggested a number of other beneficial repairs that could be done at a later date. I called this afternoon after discovering that my garage was flooding from a leaking line. I didn't have a tool to turn off the water and it was streaming down the driveway and down the street. Bruce was extremely responsive, he told me that he would have someone at my house within an hour or so. He called back about 25 minutes later to make sure I was home and to let me know that they would be arriving very shortly. Within about 10 minutes the repairman, Josh, had arrived. Josh was fantastic, the absolute best! He was very professional and explained exactly what was wrong and what he was doing and replacing. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable- he didn't even mind my big yellow lab following him around while he worked. He was very diligent in double checking the fix and making sure that everything was sealed up after turning the water back on. When he wrapped up, he left everything neat and cleaned up after himself. What started as a disastrous afternoon was quickly and efficiently turned around in no time thanks to Josh and company. Bruce was very professional and understanding over the phone. It is Saturday and I could not get a hold of a business open or available. He had a cancellation and was able to come out the same day. We jumped on the opportunity, our heater is broken and it's cold outside. The mother board is fried. Ok. How much? $1,100.00. Oh, we can't afford it. I think my heater is about 19 years old, how much for a new one? $3,00.00 to $3,500.00 and three weeks before we can come out to install a new one. He asks "you want heat tonight or in three weeks?" I had tears in my eyes the holidays are coming up and I am a single mom. My boyfriend offered to help and the price went down to $1,000.00 then $900.00 then ultimately $800.00. I started to get suspicious and asked how much the part cost. The installer got defensive and started to turn red. So I turn on Google and put in my furnace and model and the motherboard costs about $100.00 to $150.00. So I politely ask why it is costing so much, the labor? He told me I would have heat in 20 minutes?? So he calls his boss and informs him of the entire situation before handing the phone over. I ask for a breakdown of the cost and he explains, overhead, he has to carry so many parts, he has trained people, he guarantees his work. Well, wouldn't any business offer that? Why if a part costs $100.00 that you charge $1,000.00 in 20 minutes of labor? A new heater costs around $1,000.00 plus installation and labor? I couldn't justify spending one third of the cost for one part instead of just buying a new heater all together. You know what? I think he smelled blood and tried to blackmail me for HEAT! I have two little girls and I can't justify the cost so the guy actually peels out of my driveway pissed because I declined service. I am mad that I even paid $120.00 for him to tell me what was wrong. Any business should have an invoice BEFORE you sign that states, labor, parts, sales tax, total. THAT IS THE LAW. OK so i am only the tenant in a condo, not the landlord who called for as the toilet was leaking. not on the outside, so that tells me it was something in the tank. when plumber looked at it i asked if maybe i put in the wrong flapper. he said he could replace it but with no guarantee. then he said needs new toilet. quoted over 700.00. and just to tighten the 2 tank bolts on existing he wanted 220.00. that's just insane. i got a new flapper. installed in less then one min. problem solved. as far as the tank bolts, they were wing nuts. few twists of the fingers and 2 min to fix....wow magical. 5 dollars for a flapper, 3 min to fix total. not only did the plumber say toilet needed to be replaced, there prices were way more then there competitors that were half the cost. and now they want 129.00 for the call to come out and try to rip off my landlord. read more

When I first moved here over 8 years ago I bought a lifetime service plan with Paschall. First, they are too busy to send out reminders that it is time for your twice a year service. But the first time I used them for anything else, they charged me almost $500 (including my lifetime discount) to replace a garbage disposal. I looked up the one they used online and it was the least expensive one I could find online. That experience combined with other reviews on them convinced me to just switch to All Hours Air, who are prompt, reasonable, and good at what they do. We lost our air conditioning on an afternoon that was going to make for a miserable night. My wife called me and said it was blowing warm air. I saw a Paschall flatbed with air conditioning compressors on the back, right in my neighborhood. So I called the number off the truck. I told the dispatcher that there was a truck in my neighborhood. He said that he'd call that technician and see if he was wrapping up on his call. Timing was everything! 30 minutes later, I had an air conditioning tech working on my system. He had me up and running in less than an hour. He also pointed out that the lines outside normally had insulation on them and mine was old and falling off. He said he could fix it - or I could go to Home Depot and buy the material for $10 and do it myself. I chose to do it myself. But it was nice of him to tell me that I could handle it. Pricing seemed fair. Service was good. And come on, I got a tech at my front door 30 minutes after I called. Pretty awesome. read more

Buyer Beware! Get a second quote. I have had a number of jobs done by Paschall. All were over-priced but they used good products and seem to do the job right. But, when I had them change out an old water pressure reduction valve, they gave me a price of over $1,300, knocking it down to $1,125 with my 'discounts'. As noted in other reviews, they use a flat rate: no breakdown of parts, labor time, labor rate, taxes, etc. Since the technician was there and I wanted it fixed, I had them do the job and paid the bill. The technician's time ended up amounting to about 15 minutes to diagnose, 45 minutes to go back to the office to get the part, and less than an hour to install. Since the price felt awfully high and I was having buyer's remorse, I checked online. The part could cost anywhere from $45 to over $200. Frankly, if they used a good part, I wouldn't have minded giving them $300 for the part to cover mark-up and tax. But, that means that the hourly rate exceeded $400 per hour. That seems ludicrous to me and I feel taken. read more

The technician from Paschall Plus came to my house and charged $1065.70 to install a shower valve (provided by us) and to make the final connection for an under-sink water filter. $500+ an hour- nice wages if you can get an idiot (like me!) to pay it. The next plumber installed the shower fixtures and a shower valve in the other bathroom - $270.00. I'm sure P+ did a perfectly good job, but I'll never use them again. read more

They did a parts replacement for my kitchen faucet. I supplied the parts and they charged me just for labor. The plumber spent 30 minutes installing the parts and they charged me $232. That's $7.73 a MINUTE!!! WOW! Never again will I use this company. I emailed Jim Paschall twice and he never responded. I guess he was embarrassed. read more

I have used them twice thinking that the out come would be different, wrong! The tech they sent each time me was Cory that used my dishes and my restroom with out asking, he smells of liquor and pot, over charges,(this job should've been a maybe 2 hours hours or less not 4.5 hours after doing some research) he needed to leave because he did not have the "supplies on the truck" so he left for about 1.5 hours, and when comes back he has smelled even move of liquor, he was "vaping" as he called it. When I call to complain about this the guy that answers the phone hangs up on me. im not impressed, stay away from this company. read more

I called them to replace a bathroom sink and the plumber was friendly, efficient and did a good job. He also fixed a shower faucet quickly, with a simple part, and that cleared up the stuck faucet and stopped the dripping. Didn't compare prices and sink replacement was a bit costly. But, as pointed out, job was well done. I'd call them again for plumbing matters, and appliance also, though I might compare prices. read more

Make sure you get someone at Paschall Plumbing smart enough to make an intelligent diagnosis of the problem. I was nervous about the leak. They took three days and a lot of digging. The leak was at the street level. We ended up paying their top estimate. If a better initial diagnosis of the problem had been made, the repair could have been done in a more timely and less expensive matter. We ended up paying their top estimate---a lot of money. Get a second estimate from a different company even if you're nervous and leaks intimidate you. read more
