Sorry this is a late review, but this company Hands down is the greatest towing company. Bernie was amazing. He was enroute to help us but we thought we were good. He helped me through text to find some places to help with our flat. Unfortunately all shops were either closed or too busy since it was a Sunday. Bernie called us to check in about an hour later to make sure all was good!! Who does that!! So awesome. At our wits end Bernie came and helped us out. I would recommend this company to anyone. My husband and I broke down on our way to a wedding with out 6mo old two weekends ago. We had to use LYFT the rest of the way to get there on time. The next day we call AAA and they send Pete Johnson Towing. Alfonso was nice, and said the mechanic shop he was towing us to was the best, but they're not open on weekends, so we will have to leave the car and find a way home, which we did. Turns out the mechanic is not the best and they charged us $200 to just look at the car. We drive down again the following weekend, another 3.5 hours with our baby, call AAA again to get the car towed back to Livermore because nothing is open in Paso Robles for the weekend apparently, and we can't keep driving down there. AAA says no problem. We will just have to follow the tow truck home. Alfonso shows up again and says that he cannot tow our car today, but we will get it by Wednesday... four days later. So we drove 7hours with our baby that day and still didn't have a car. Tuesday rolls around and they call to say they'll leave at 6am Wednesday and call us when they're an hour out. We never receive that call. We called them at least 5x between myself and my husband. I called at 7pm and the dispatch said she'd call me right back. And hour later I call again and ask about our car and she says "oh, right." And puts me on hold without saying anything else. After about 4min she picks up to say "please hold" and keeps me on hold for another 4min. After 8min total, she says our car was dropped off at Dublin Toyota but she doesn't know anything else. She said they'd call us in the morning. Today, in the AFTERNOON we got a call saying our car was dropped off already. We have been without our car for almost two weeks, and now there is something more wrong with it than what was wrong from when the first mechanic looked at it. I'm not sure if something happened while our car was who-knows-where all day on Wednesday, or if the first mechanic was not as good as the tow company suggested. Either way, I am severely disappointed and needed to share my experience. We have also reported this to AAA. read more

Probably the worst towing service I've ever seen. My car broke down in the middle of the night and I contacted my insurance which they dispatched Pete Johnson through AAA when Pete Johnson arrived he told me that he would not tow my car unless I paid him $200 I tried to explain to him that the insurance is covered at all and he said it doesn't matter I will not tell your car unless you give me $200 so I said fuck that and luckily the homie was able to get me out of there. I've also watched him drive very recklessly the other day actually he turned against traffic on Highway 46 with a solid red light into oncoming traffic. If I had to recommend anyone to get a tow from it would be Speedy Tow. He's fast reliable and very professional unlike Pete Johnson. 1st of all amazing service! I ran over a curb and proceeded to pop my tire and completely rip off my rock guard. I got the tire changed but I was about an hour away from home and was worried I might need a tow since stuff was dragging. Bernie showed up in record time and promptly told me my car wasn't as bad as I thought (major relief for a college student) and that I should be okay. Drove home perfectly fine except for going super slow since I had a donut. All in all if you need a tow I would recommend here without a doubt! Quality and amazing customer service! Sergio help my gf and i in a very stressful time as we were moving back to Sacramento from slo with load truck when it broke down. Upon arrival he was very kind and went beyond what his job was to help us. He ended up figuring out why my truck had broken down and towed us to autozone and he went inside side to help me get the correct parts and he stayed there and taught me how to fix my truck. I received a call just after 8 AM from a woman (she did not give her name) saying that they had been to my vehicle multiple times yesterday as well as called multiple times. Since I was on the property, where my car is at, as well as had my phone on me all day I questioned her statements. She responded angrily "IF WE HAVE A PROBLEM THEN WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS!" Extremely defensive and rude. I told her there was not a problem and she said "OBVIOUSLY THERE IS!" I let her know I'd call AAA. She literally slammed the phone down. I called AAA and let them know what happened. They dispatched a different tow company and that Company called, had no problem getting through to me-hmmmmmm, and we are set to go. Customer service was despicable, rude and had clearly lied to me. I hope you read this, you rude rude woman. Pete Johnston should absolutely get a different dispatcher, this womans attitude casts a BAD light on the whole company. read more

Bernie is the best. I had no idea after driving through muddy areas a few hours ago was the cause of my Jeep start to shake violently on the highway late at night. Called AAA and Bernie showed up and loaded the vehicle on the flatbed. He then asked me what was the problem I was experiencing, he then went around the vehicle and noticed the passenger side wheels had some mud and then immediately started to clean up the big chunks off. He assured me that was the cause. He also recommended to get the deep car wash to get rid off the left over dirt just to be sure. I noticed the problem disappeared immediately on my way to car wash and he even followed me to the car wash to make sure I choose the right way to clean the wheels thoroughly. Of course we drove happily home without any problems and avoided either staying in hotel or get alignment done next day. Such a great experience from customer first service. Thanks Bernie! read more

Stopped off to visit family in Paso Robles this August and while putting my little van on the dolly went to far and wound up stuck on the trailer tongue. My carrier referred me to this outfit who upon arrival one Sergio informed me it was not covered and would be $250 minimum. When l called the Insurer back they informed me that it was merely a "convenience assistance" I did not need a tow, so no coverage. Thanks Sergio. I then called another local outfit who came lifted the van up and charged me $100. I was informed this was what is called a "winch out" and had it been called in as such would have been covered. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. My boyfriend and I got stuck in Paso during a trip up to Northern California and our ABS light came on at 2:30am Our breaks started to activate on their own. Super scary in the middle of the night! We called a tow truck the next afternoon and who came to our rescue? Bernie. What a lovely, professional gentleman. He was very personable on the phone (which put us at ease), arrived before the guesstimated time, and checked the car. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get on the road right away. BUT he did take us to an awesome car repair shop. What would normally have been a very stressful time, Bernie made actually quite fun and turned it into a quick resolution. We both felt very comfortable around him and were amazed at how he went above and beyond to make this experience quite enjoyable. It's incredible what a difference it makes when you come across someone who loves what they do. So thank you, Bernie, for being an incredible tow truck guy who likes his job. AAA said it would be about an hour until my tow truck came. Since I was in Lowe's parking lot I went into a couple of the stores to wait. Going from one store to another I noticed a tow truck driving through the lot & figured it was for me even though it had only been 20 minutes. It turned out it wasn't my driver but Bernie took the time to see what was going on with my car and ended up taking care of it (switching with whoever was assigned to me). Bernie Rocks! He was the best "Good Samaritan" I've seen in 30 years! Off the clock, he offered us a ride to the front gate when our '65 Ford pickup truck that has a history of being temperamental when hot left us stranded. Then, he offered to tow the truck with is own personal truck past the gate so we could have access to the truck in the morning. If I could give this business zero stars I would. Our car broke down during our trip and AAA contracted Pete Johnston towing. The company said it wouldn't be until late afternoon before the truck could assist us since we had to be towed out of town. We called at 11am in the morning. Kiddos to tow driver Alfonso. He went way above and beyond today. Our car broke down in Paseo Roblos on a Sunday afternoon with 88 year old grandma, two kids, and hubby and myself after attending a family funeral. It was getting late and over 103 degrees out. Alfonso first tried to problem solve our car trouble by adding coolant, then transmission fuel. When that did not work he towed us to the closest car rental, 35 miles away in San Luis Obispo first dropping off our car at a dealership for service the next morning. Under the circumstances, we could not have found a more patient, compassion and competent driver. Pete Johnson is lucky to have him. Traveling with a senior citizen and kids is not easy.
