I'm originally from Saginaw and did not start coming to Pasongs until I moved to Ann Arbor and Metro Detroit, big mistake because this place is amazing! The food is fantastic, but more importantly the staff take this place to an 11. We interacted with several staff and they were all so happy and friendly. As for the food I don't think you can go wrong, the pad thai was flavorful with plenty of green onion, bean sprouts, peanuts, etc. we ordered with shrimp and they were huge. The curry was also delightful with chicken. We ordered everything medium, I like spicy and next time I would probably order a higher spice, but I wasn't complaining. Spring rolls (veggie) and crab rangoons came out fresh. I'd recommend the spring rolls of the two, 3 for $5 is a great price as well. I normally am not a fan of hot & sour soup but I would say everyone should get it! The broth was so flavorful and unique. It has plenty of cabbage, bamboo, mushrooms and even a poached egg. Just try it if you never have had it. Inside it's cozy, the Old Town area is really full of new and unique locally owned businesses. We had no issues with parking, etc. Try something different and you will NOT be disappointed! read more

This place has delicious food and great service! My 4 year old daughter loves the Pho. My favorite is the green curry. The pad Thai is yummy and the spring rolls are fab! I am pretty sure you can bring in alcohol and drink it in there. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and they go above and beyond. We really love coming here!! read more

Great restaurant serving authentic asian dishes. Most popular are the Thai and Vietnamese foods. Environment: Small homey restaurant with pictures from a local artist up for decoration. They're also for sale. Waitress is a friend and will answer inquiries. Tables are well spaced. Food is actually pretty expensive, especially for the quantity. Also, they charge for ordering extra spices and things like that. Check your receipt to make sure they don't charge you for anything extra. Pad thai and pho are favs. Ingredients are all fresh. i LOVE going to pasongs. i live in flint now and still try to make it there. i was just there today with my bf, my dad and my bf's cousin from NYC and even the NYer said it was the best egg drop soup he had ever had. the whole table thanked me for taking them, they all LOVED everything, even Tina and her sis! It's the place to go for great food, good vibes and a full stomach. Notice there was 1 bad review out of five. That guy that insulted the Pasong girls doesnt know what he is talking about. If I had to describe this place in one word, I think it would be 'diaper.' Most of the food tastes and smells like it. For some reason, different people kept taking me to this place saying I should give it another shot. The experience never improved. The waitress, who I believe is the daughter of the owner, is really friendly, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. For anything on the menu, you pick your level of hotness on a scale of 1-10, which to me is an indication that whatever you are about to order is coming doused in the same heap of sweaty old spices, which it is. I went here with a vegetarian once. He ordered the tofu salad, which looked pretty grim to say the least. Try to avoid this place if you can. read more

Pasong's Cafe is a small restaurant and only open a few days a week, Tuesday through Saturday I think. The food is very good and seems authentic. Portion sizes are fair, just enough to fill you up, unlike a lot of Chinese restaurants that give you enough in one dish for four people. Since its my review, I give Pasong's 4 stars but my husband would give it 2-3. The good: I had the phat thai with tofu. The noodles were cooked just right and the sauce had a great flavor. At first I was a little nervous about the amount of cilantro (A LOT) but since I really like cilantro it worked for me. They were also generous with the chopped peanuts which I appreciated because I usually have to ask for extra. The tofu had an odd citrus/salty taste to it which didn't really mesh with the dish but standing alone was tasty. It was a smaller portion than I've seen in other thai restaurants but was still more than I could finish even without an appetizer. The bad: My husband's beef and broccoli was a really small portion and pretty bland. We both asked for our dishes medium spicy and unfortunately neither had any spice. The food service was also very slow. There was one other couple in the restaurant when we arrived, and after ordering it was about 40 minutes before our food came out. Maybe it wouldn't have been so noticeable if we had gotten appetizers, so that's something to consider if you're really hungry upon arrival. The waitress was really friendly and made sure our drinks were always refilled when they hit the half-full mark and the restaurant decor is very warm and relaxing. Definitely the best phat/pad thai I've found in the tri-cities area, so I'll be back at least for some phat thai takeout. read more

I love this place! Tina whips me up Gluten Free spring rolls, both soft and fried as long as I call ahead. So worth it! The sweet and sour sauce is to die for and is a family recipe so you won't be tasting it anywhere else. The atmosphere is charming and the service friendly. Your food takes a little longer then a chain restaurant but thats just all the love going into your made from scratch meal. Totally worth it! I love this place. read more

The food here is great. Not on the level of places on the west coast or big cities, but it's probably the best in Saginaw. Far from the frozen fare at most other Asian restaurants. It's just everything else that needs a little work. The restuarant was cold! I realize it's a drafty old building but my friend was freezing and it's a 65 degree day. Other than that it's a nice place inside, not crowded and very clean. Very slow on the food coming out. Even if things are freshly breaded and the sauce is whipped up just for my meal it should not take a half hour for our food. Since we only have an hour lunch, I was tempted to just ask the waitress for a box since we needed to get back to work. $26.00 for 2 lunches? This place is very expensive. I'm not looking for a $5 lunch combination bargain that other places offer, but spending over $10 for a lunch entree is a little ridiculous. The portions are also sanely sized, which is a good thing, but you aren't going to be eating leftovers for lunch next day. In short, if they speed things up and lower the prices by a few bucks it'd get 4 stars only. But it makes it a place for special occasions or for when you have time to burn. read more

Absolutely love this place! The food is a bit pricey but you can tell it is worth it once you get that first taste. Everything is always very fresh and well prepared. Oh my word! Hidden gem! This was our favorite food stop of our road trip from Minnesota to Lower Michigan. I have never tasted such fresh, light and perfectly made Asian food. I am gluten intolerant and the waitress made sure we knew that almost anything on the menu could be made gluten free! I had the orange chicken. The breading on it was light and crispy. Better than any orange chicken I've ever had- even prior to realizing my gluten intolerance! Next time we will call ahead so I can try the gluten free egg rolls! We will be back! read more

We got takeout at this restaurant tonight. The food was hot and they made it pretty quickly. When I walked in, it had a nice interior. The lady at the cash register was super nice. We got the vegetable spring rolls which were pretty good. We got the beef fried rice which I didn't care for. We also got the temple beef which was decent. My wife got the sweet and sour chicken which she liked. We got pad Thai which is probably the least favorite pad Thai I have ever had. Finally we got the chicken and rice cubes off the kids menu for my children. I also found that lacking. Overall I would say that the ambience was nice as were the servers. I would, however, say that the food was only fair-to-middlin. I really wanted it to be better than it was, especially considering it was a little more expensive than most places. read more
