It was fine. The pizza was sort of underwhelming, service was adequate, paper plate and plastic utensils. Reasonably-priced pizza without a lot of distinction. It comes out on a metal platter accompanied by a paper plate and plastic utensils, so we aren't talking high end here, but that's fine. I like a good hole in the wall place with a defined style. Unfortunately, Pasquale's didn't really offer much that I couldn't have gotten from a freezer. You'll place your order at a front desk and pay first. After that, you won't see a lot of the staff. Came here because I had heard good things about the steak hoagies & pepper pod was closed . . The mushroom steak hoagy tasted good & my mom enjoyed her pizza. I got the stuffed shells with meat sauce - basically pizza sauce with italian sausage added but it was good , the shells filled with cheese were huge. I recently told someone how great Pasquale's is. Last night, after a lifetime of bring a patron, I have to move along...maybe Papa John's. My grandson went in to pick up our order while my son circled the block...our pizzas (2) were so under done the cheese ran off into the box on both of them. Great pizza and sandwiches, especially the Stromboli Steak sandwich-- I would've called this a dago sandwich. The two men working were very friendly and helpful and one clued me in to the history of mob activity in Newport. Dinner for 5 with appetizer and drinks was $42-- a very good deal. My husband grew up with Pasquale's and was dying to get me to try it. So we were finally in Newport and we met up with my sister-in-law for lunch so I'd finally get to try it. We ordered a hoagy for each of us and got a large pizza with 5 toppings. The hoagy was pretty good. No complaint with the hoagies. However, I was NOT impressed with the pizza. I paid for five toppings and was extremely disappointed at how SKIMPY the toppings were on it. I mean literally only TWO olives were on the entire large pizza!! I paid 50 for this meal. Seriously tasty pasta dishes. No frills required. The gingham table cloth-red sauce kinda place that noni would take you to. Don't let the rough and tumble look fool ya, these fellas are dishing out tasty ravioli, shells, and spaghetti. I opted for the shells and a random side of jalapeno poppers. Both came out lava hot. 3rd degree roof of mouth burns aside, everything was super fresh and baked to perfection. The shells were tender, not sloppy, and the ricotta was better than noni's. Their red sauce is a savory rather than sweet style and out of this world good. I do not recommend dining in. I had the Cincinnati hot sausage hoagie. For some reason, most of their hoagies are served with pickles; I respect their commitment to pickles. Someone must be very passionate about them. My hoagie had onions, pickles, cheese, hot sausage, and pizza sauce. The sauce was delicious: subtle Italian herbs and real tomatoes. The sausage was not for the faint of heart! It was spicy, really spicy, but very deliciously flavored as well. I can't wait to eat Pasquale's again, but I will probably pick up. The ambiance just isn't there for a dine-in experience, beverages are purchased from a vending machine, and they have very loud TV's playing 24/7 in a very small space. read more

We recently moved to Newport and really wanted to love this, as we read a lot of reviews the mentioned the garlic bread. The pizza resembles a supermarket frozen pizza. The garlic bread is basically a hoagie roll baked with cheese on top. When we called we weren't given a time, until I asked how long it would take. Maybe we caught them on a bad night. Also, a 12" pizza is much smaller than it sounds, I would say if you're debating, go with the larger pizza. read more

Actually 3.5 This isn't EXACTLY like the Pasquale's I remember from my youth but since that has been ___ yrs ago (ha, not telling!) my memory might be a little askew. Thanks to Yelp we found this place on a recent 1 day trip to Cincy. Not impressive bldg, but it is downtown pretty close to the aquarium. Lots of little shops to check out. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. you bus your own table. The employees were very inviting, friendly and told us a little Pasquale background. The pasta dishes come with garlic bread and are all oven cooked....so the noodles aren't al dente. Meat sauce means with italian sausage (like what is used on pizza). The sauce was familiar and I opted for a small along with a 7" pepp pizza. My sis got small stuffed shells and breaded mushrooms. All for $20. Reasonable! I was stuffed! They have fish and shrimp options along with an array of subs. They have a different beverage situation....buy cans from the soda machine, a bottle of water or a 2 liter. Unisex bathroom was clean, well kept and had good quality tissue (my sister loved that tissue...lol) On street parking free on Sunday. Pasquale's is a great place to go if you're looking for something casual but better than fast food or a chain. They have carry out, or dine in. I've been several times with my boyfriend and his parents (it's their favorite), and have always gotten the same thing - a steak hoagie. And they make a good one! The bun has a buttery salt coating on top. My best piece of advice is to order extra sauce because if you don't it'll be dry. On our most recent visit, I ordered a salad instead of the crinkle fries. The lettuce was fresh and it was served cold - so I'd recommend it!! Also, the place was very cutely decorated for Christmas! I loved the festive atmosphere! read more

I was warned many times over never to confuse the Newport Pasquale's with the one in Bellevue. I wish I had listened. I ordered two steak hoagies and garlic bread with cheese and disappointingly my food was no where near as good as what I get from their sister restaurant. The meat on my hoagie was only half-way edible (as in I lost my appetite for it half-way through the sandwich and threw the other half away) and resembled Play-Do. My boyfriend tossed out about a third of his hoagie. The garlic bread was slightly better but it was doused so heavily with garlic powder that it tasted bitter. Also, the bread didn't come with any marinara dipping sauce, which I thought was pretty standard. Another annoyance was the the person who rang me up took my money, gave me change, and then went back to making sandwiches without washing his hands. Ewww. Have been a fan of Pasqule's since I had to work late nights at the movie theatre. Really came in clutch many weekend nights esp. with delivery. Now that I no longer work near there, we usually grab it late night after downtown events. I've never had the pizza so I can't comment on that but the hoagies are some of the best I've had (other pasquale's don't hold a candle.) I always get the lunchmeat hoagie with pizza sauce and my bf gets the chicken hoagie with bbq sauce. Occasionally I'll grab it for my parents and they always get the steak hoagie. There aren't many late night options that everyone can agree on but this always wins the debate with no compliants. The prices are reasonable and the food is always hot and flavorful. The fries could be a bit crisper but they'll do and the jalepeno poppers and inferno wings are great. read more
