Passion Pie is always on my list of restaurants to visit when I'm in T or C. Their quiches are consistently delicious and the staff is easy to engage with and knowledgeable about the area. You absolutely MUST COME HERE!!! Best local biz by far - just make it in by 3pm and stock up on to-go deliciousness. Be a little patient with drinks and warmed up pastries - takes a while if there's a line. But hey, where ya gotta be anyway if you're this far out? ;) Heads up: breakfast tacos come on HARD SHELLS standard and the Lassi drinks are just blended yogurt with ice served in a big cup, perfect for brain freeze. I bet that version is custom created for the local summers, which climb into 100's easily. Spanikopita plate takes about 20 mins to create, so we skipped that and went straight into Borikas pastries (savory! yum!) and those huge banana muffins. No regrets. If you're gluten sensitive, there are a couple of WFGF options - I highly recommend the coconut macaroons - pure deliciousness!! The food is amazing. And the greeter, Lani (?sp) , sister of the owner is wonderful. She's friendly, a great listener and has good business acumen. What seems like bad business to me, is, I shared that I was unhappy with my decaf latte on last visit, as it tasted mostly like milk instead of coffee. And when I went back to inform them, the owner did not compensate for their error. Scarcity begets scarcity ( losing customers.) I did however, receive a sample of amazing chocolate mouse, to sooth my sadness. Not sure if I will visit again. read more

There are several little coffee shops to choose from in this town, so I chose this one to stop by before my trip to the hot springs. Unfortunately, I receive all energy whether positive or negative, so it's important for me, that staff are friendly. Upon entrance, this place has a cute, easygoing vibe. It is small and not many customers when I visited around 10:00 am. I think they may have just opened because the cashier was still writing the specials on the board, which I actually did not mind. Now keep in mind that this was my first visit, so I'm overwhelmed with options. I asked many questions about the menu and it seemed as if I was bothering the cashier. So finally, I settled on the Passion fruit green tea and Quiche Lorraine. Rightly so, it took about 10 minutes to prepare the quiche, so when it was ready the cook calls my name. I go get it, but no tea? So I take it to the table and ask the cashier about the tea. She replied, "Oh yeah, I forgot. I don't know what I was doing." (Probably too busy exerting negative energy into that sad greeting and stank attitude) Again, mind you, I COULD have been sipping my tea for at least 8 of those 10 minutes I was waiting. Pros: The Quiche was delicious, cute space, reasonable prices. Cons: Bad service, tea was not the greatest, and did I mention bad service? While I will be returning to that town for the hot springs, I will not be returning to Passion Pie Café, nor would I recommend it. read more

This place had exceptional food and is within walking distance of most of the spas downtown. The dining room wasn't open when we went but we could order at the window. I think we tried most everything on the menu and it was all fantastic. So good in fact, there was always a line to order every time we went! They are offering great service during the pandemic. It's the best food in T or C; would maybe rate it less in other places but given the options, it really stands out! The reason for my three stars is the following: Here is this charming, progressive diner with fresh beautifully presented food. It is served with plastic utensils, single use plastic, styrofoam cups, straws, need I go on? It is only a few months from the year 2020 and anyone who is being mindful about our environment is aware of the damage done by these products. It is not even about recycling, we are past that. It is about using biodegradable disposable items. I know they are more costly but if you added another 30 cents to each meal, it would cover the cost. My friend and I were traveling through Truth or Consequences and heading to Albuquerque in the morning so we wanted a place to quickly grab some coffee and something small for the road. However, once we walked in, the cafe felt so cute and inviting that we decided to stay and hang out. The woman helping us at the counter was really sweet and patient with us as well. We ordered two iced espressos, a sausage swiss quiche, tomato basil quiche and a blueberry cream cheese tart. The tart was sooo delicious. It had the right amount of sweetness, the ratio of cream cheese to blueberry topping was perfect and the crust was so soft. We shared one tart so we contemplated on ordering another one but we knew we should wait for the quiches to come out. I think they had other flavors including apricot and raspberry. One day I'll try another.... but moving on to the quiches! So I've eaten quiches before and I typically just order it at cafes because I'm more of a savory breakfast person but WOW! My friend and I both agreed that these were the most amazing quiches we have ever had. Both were delicious and came out nice and warm. The cheese was perfectly melted and crusted over on top. I personally liked the tomato basil one just a bit more. If you're a vegan/vegetarian, they also offer soy and almond milk. The cafe has wi-fi (saw some people doing work), plenty of street parking and a clean bathroom. I would definitely recommend this cafe to friends staying in Truth or Consequences :) read more

Came here for a sweet fix: my mom, my 9 year old daughter, and myself. Sweet fix indeed! We tried 8 of the options: roasted pineapple scone, salted caramel apple croissant bread pudding, orange cranberry something, magic bars, peanut butter mocha, americano, and hot cocoa. (Spent about $35 - hey, we're on vacay!) The drinks were as expected - but the peanut butter mocha was a mocha with a drizzle of peanut butter sauce. I think it could have used a little crunch garnish (crushed roasted peanuts? Salt flakes?). Americano and hot cocoa were average. The roasted pineapple scone was different. There was literally browned pineapple chunks in a very simple scone. I enjoyed it but it didn't have much flavor, compared to everything else anyways. The salted caramel apple croissant bread pudding was really good... The flavor was phenomenal, but I felt it could've been baked a little bit longer. The orange cranberry pastry that we had... I'm not sure what they called it... Was delicious. It was a flavor explosion, perfect amount of sweetness, and my daughter and I fought over the last bite. The magic bars were great texture, loaded with chocolate chips, and just plain yummy. I haven't tried their savory menu but the sweets are something I will look forward to when I come back to visit T or C. read more

I wish every city had one of these! It was amazing! The place was cute and had local artists' work up on display for sale. The food was unique and delicious. The waffle variety made it difficult to chose one because we wanted to try one of everything! I settled for a vegetarian waffle (veggies in the batter!) with some fruit. I'm boring and a plain Jane when it comes to food toppings, and my wife had a bacon something banana foster (again, bacon in the batter!!). The portions were huge, but the food was delicious and if not for wanting to try all the places in TorC we would have return the next day. We will, however, return on our next trip. Ordered the green chili corn feta quiche and also a very small macaroon. I felt it was a little expensive for the little amount I ordered. Also why would I leave a tip if you're going to call my name and not bring it out? Having never been here before woman wasn't the friendliest and the main menu board doesn't list the four styles of quiche available. I was snapped at to select a quiche from the side board. An amazing little, colorful gem in the middle of downtown. The folks are really nice, and there are tons of regulars coming in every minute. Enjoyed the BLT tacos as gluten free treat. The bacon was perfectly cooked and the tomatoes fresh and ripe. Loved tacos with a humus sauce rather than cream. Also the Falafal Pita the falafal and humus most fresh and tasty. The pickled veggies worked well on both dishes. The mint tea a lovely paring with the tacos. For dessert the date, nut bites were so perfect, GF and dairy free. The art was dynamic and lighthearted. This was a really great quaint little café! We loved everything we tried! staff was very friendly! I didn't give it five stars because of the fact of a low selection. Don't know if I really could expect a whole lot more though considering it's in such a small little town LOL but I was really thankful though that they did have at least two gluten-free selections. absolutely fantastic drinks and large selection of those! This was one of my favorite hidden gems of all time. My girlfriend and I were looking for a little lunch before we drove back to Texas, so this little place was recommended by the Welcome Center. We walked in after parking (quite interesting parking on the street) and knew this was a good place. It was buzzing with happy customers and happy staff. Bonus! We started with an Orange Dream drink ($3.50). Orange and vanilla syrup with seltzer and cream.. Oh my was it amazing. It reminded so much of a dream sickle with the perfect blend of cream to orange. We also go the quiche and soup combos to split. I got the 4 cheeses quiche which was fluffy, tasty and so easy to eat in a nicely baked crust. This is my favorite quiche, ever. I also had a wonderful ginger/carrot soup. Wow. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of carrots usually, but this was utterly perfect. My girlfriend got a Mediterranean quiche which was also quite tasty. The flavors were great and the broccoli was a nice addition. I have to admit, the artwork was also pretty amazing. My favorite piece was by Christina Gage. Open on Tuesday when the rest of TorC is shut down. But... No water cups, only cones. They'll sell you a cup, but you can have as many cones as you want. Makes no sense and inconvenient. Before you think oh hippies being hippies, not wanting water cups to be thrown away, every dish is served on styrofoam plates. Tuna melt was alright. Served with pickled carrots, celery and onions for some reason. Had melted cheese but otherwise everything was cold. And a little wet/messy, IDK, I think a tuna melt should be a little less precarious to handle. I'm a simple man though. Granola with milk and berries was very good. Sat outside, service went as far as placing our food on a counter but not to alert us. Another customer let us know our food was sitting there. Go for breakfast foods, not lunch. read more
