Literally obsessed with this store and my biggest regret is that I've passed by them all of these years unknowingly. I actually recently found them as my mom had been raving about this store and took me in over the weekend. The store is super cute inside. Clothing, jewelry and some small accessories. A great store with a little bit of everything for us ladies. I found their clothing selection to be fun and slightly western forward as a theme but they also had great regular prints and styles. Their jewelry was pretty and I liked some of their gift accessories like hats and passport tags etc. The store was clean and spacious enough to walk around without bumping into people. Staff were very nice, bubbly and welcoming. I liked that they were the perfect amount of attentive but also gave you some space to shop. Didn't have my weird vibes of being watched etc lol. Multiple staff on shift which was nice as one gal was walking the floor talking about sales while another could attend to customers wanting to pay. I walked away with a super yummy smelling rollerball perfume and a Christmas gift for a friend. Prices were reasonable with the sale, so it was a good time to stop in. There's always that's one cute little shop that you happen to stumble into. Well this was one of them. Right on Main Street in downtown Ventura, along the lined streets of shops, restaurants, vintage boutiques and many more unique stores. We just happened to walk into it while strolling the Blvd looking for a place to eat. First off, the associate was just the sweetest ever. So friendly and welcoming. This places offers plenty of gifts, clothing, accessories and many many more items. Tons of beautiful stones and gems. The jewelry selections was pretty fun with many different selections of fun pieces. As well as all the gifts pieces they offer. The wall of rugs was very impressive. There's also an upstairs that also offers vintage items. We just happened to just walk in and looked around. But next time, for sure I'll make another stop and take my time going through and checking out all the amazing gifts and trinkets they offers. read more

I have always loved this store, and have bought many items and spent a lot of money here. I was there a couple of weeks ago and I brought in a wick cutter that I had purchased a couple of months prior. When I got around to using it, the "blades" were so off-center that it wouldn't come close to cutting anything, let alone a wick. I purchased it that way, but never noticed it. When I brought it in to exchange for one that actually worked, the employee examined it, tried it, confirmed it did not work and declined to exchange it for one that did because it was past the 2 weeks exchange policy. I paid around $40 for it. I wasn't asking for my money back; I just wanted to exchange it for one that did what it was supposed to do. The fact that she even tried it herself only to tell me NO was the kicker. I'm sorry to say, but I will never return to that store again due to poor customer service! Besides, I found the same thing on Amazon for $10. read more

The place is modern decorated, big, airy. The merchandise is nice, prices are kinda high. Passport Habits has long been a go-to spot for gifts. Their collection of art and decor items, jewelry and other small items makes it my first stop when I'm looking for a birthday gift for a friend. On previous trips in, I've noticed that they carry Pons Avarcas sandals, which I've worn for the past three years. When my beloved pair were falling apart this past weekend, I called ahead to make sure that Passport Habits had the size and color I was looking for, and the team member who answered the phone was prompt and helpful, but more than that she was SO pleased to hear that I'd be right in. When I arrived to the store she had pulled the two sizes I wanted to consider aside. It would have been easy to order my sandals from a website that rhymes with Schmamazon, but supporting a lovely local business was a thousand times more pleasant experience, and I look forward to visiting again! read more

Although the store is listed as a rug and home decor shop, it's a cute, creative, collective of gifts and other finds too. Unique assortment of items within walking distance of Pete's Breakfast which was perfect when there was a 20" wait. The owner was there and told us more about the concept, theme, and changing inventory. We bought a small purple sandstone carved elephant with the baby inside and a gold flake bangle bracelet. This store has so many treasures! Beautiful jewelry, and even plenty of stuff for making your own jewelry! There are drawers full of different items including: buttons, seaglass, necklace chains, and MUCH MORE! There was a sterling and turquoise necklace and another coral necklace that caught my eye! There are also hand carved mermaid pendants made out of antlers that are very unique. My FAVORITE part of this store are the unique Persian rugs that are displayed so beautifully. Each rug is so unique you'll never see another one like it! From the colors, to the patterns and designs. My mom and I left the store wanting each and every one of these rugs, they are so beautiful. Stopped in when I was in Ventura for the holidays and was delighted to look around the shop--wow, those rugs. Makes me wish I had a NYC apartment large enough for one! As a fan/owner of Pons, it was nice to see them for sale in the store. I walked out with a Capricorn ring and the most beautiful Capricorn blank card. I was going to mail it on to my fellow Cap friend, but I'm definitely keeping for myself. Looking forward to visiting on Christmas vacations to come. read more

My fiancè and I popped in here while we were waiting for a table at Pete's Restaurant and I am so glad there was a wait! Michelle greeted us at the door and told us the story behind her store. I love when shops have a personal story behind them and share the owner's journey. The layout and overall feel of the store were both warm and fascinating! There were these beautiful "floor poofs" made from upholstery and quilts that I immediately felt drawn to. They rugs were magnificent and all of the trinkets were alluring. Since I wasn't planning on shopping that day, I unfortunately was unable to purchase anything. We just moved to Ventura and will be doing lots of decorating in the next few months and I am definitely going to be a customer of Passport! read more

I've always been a fan of this business. Unique and fun spot to get one of a kind gifts. I have a good friend who is staying with me right now while working at our local hospital (a doctor from out of state). She stopped by, browsed a few things, contemplated a pair of earrings, but ultimately put them back, leaving the store and continuing down Main Street. Shortly after, a female employee chased her down the street accusing her of stealing earrings. My friend, shocked, explained that she had put them back. Feeling pressured she emptied her pockets and personal belongings to show they weren't on her. Instead of acknowledging that the employee was wrong, she said "must of been a miscommunication". No, she was just accusatory before looking at cameras, or checking the display before chasing and embarrassing my friend. Seemed unprofessional to me. Again, love this store but such a bad experience after I had recommended my friend check out this cute spot. read more

Michelle is one of those rare and special people who I feel privileged to know. I went into the store for the first time two weeks ago and what a treasure chest this place is! All kinds of nooks and crannies with one of a kind items. Each bearing a story that Michelle is so graciously willing to share. I found some raw silk that I just had to have and trinkets and gems. Went back 2 weeks later and found some wonderful Victorian items I fell in love with. Discovered her wonderful German Glitter Glass and went to town on several items I have. Michelle was so kind and explained the application technique. I am so hoping she has classes in the future! She used the glitter glass on a mirror on the wall, that is absolutely stunning. I find you just have to stop and stand in the middle of the room and look at each section to get an appreciation for all of the creative and delightful gems. I have not seen anything like this little treasure chest anywhere in Ventura County, I am sure it won't be hidden for long. Michelle is extremely gifted and her method of staging is really the best I have seen. Your in for a real treat! read more
