I like the dentist she's very professional and always is a pleasure to have work on you but she got mad at me only because of a mistake she made by putting someone else's dentures in my mouth by mistake that could have happened to anyone and im not at all upset I like her and I'll go back to her always so if I hurt her feelings by posting what happened I assure you I meant no disrespect to her or her practice because I assure you she's 100 percent professional and great at her job so please forgive my arrogance ad Im.only human and make stupid decisions sometimes. read more

After seeing the reviews online, I hoped for better. I scheduled an annual exam and cleaning (mind you, insurance covers only 1 of these per year, so I want it to be thorough!) The dentist spent maaaybe 5 minutes with me total. He poked around in my mouth a bit and said my teeth were "already clean" (yes, they were brushed - but that's not what an annual cleaning is for!) He also tried to pressure me to have a ton of unnecessary and expensive dental work scheduled there (I assume to try and milk my dental insurance and subsidize all these great 'discounts' they're giving out), and totally ignored a serious problem I was coming in to discuss. I'm really disappointed, and frankly, want my money back, as they literally did nothing but hand me a new toothbrush. Save your hard earned money and go to a real dentist. read more

Update 10/4/2020: never got a call from Dr. Mercho as she mentioned, but I don't even want a call anymore. I want more secure fillings done for the next patient. I want more compassion and less greed. Unfortunately I won't go back for repair and will go somewhere else. Picture with black background is filling #2 that fell out within a few months. Frustrated. Update 8/242020 to Dr. Mercho. I wish you were more concerned when I was there in person and took your time to listen and correct than on yelp where it seems for show. My tooth you worked on fell out after flossing not the filling. Updated 8/21/2020 Wow!! Less than a month later after my filling look what fell out (pictured)! Part of my tooth that she had filled fell out! It was almost impossible to floss between my teeth because of her work, but I tried anyway because that's what you're supposed to do - floss! I mentioned it to her that it was hard to floss, she said just string in through and not see saw. I can't even get the floss through! This is a horrible expensive experience. I now have to get it repaired (obviously somewhere else with more experience and better results). I am horrified and after I received a personal call from my previous post, I think it was more for yelp ratings in reviews then my actual concerns or sincere apology. Sorry I will not change my honest review because I want people to be prepared if they should experience this. If you do go, I'm hoping you don't have to deal with this and have a better experience than me. Poss Original post: I only went here because I switched from my insurance to my husband's insurance and my previous dentist was not in network anymore. First, they were 45 minutes behind and it felt rushed because they were closing. Had teeth cleaning and my fillings done here and they told me one price per filling and said insurance paid 80% and I pay 20% which I know and I did pay. Had to come in for fillings on other side and paid cash again making sure I asked if this is all I owe which they said yes, but then I still get a "balance" bill for it at home saying they don't cover white fillings and dentist charge more for it. Should they have mentioned that first when they charged me on my first fillings?! They mentioned after my second time going there. After my filling, they didn't not smooth it out causing me to have sharp edge I had to get corrected. They didn't floss or offer mouthwash. Also, told me one price for bonding and when I went to confirm, they gave me a much higher price, but because one doctor quoted me for $600 for two teeth they would honor it. I felt uncomfortable with that so I canceled my appt. I got my bonding done with my previous dentist that really puts my concerns first for much less. My previous dentist even mentioned I didn't need that bonding and wanted me to save money. He just shaped my teeth better on one tooth and added a little bonding on another. I should have never went here just because I thought they accept my insurance. They just find other ways to bill you out of pocket. Much more expensive and less professional in my opinion. I honestly don't think I will go back. I really am pretty mad at the way I was treated. The girl that took my X-ray never even greeted me. She sat me down and stuck the dental probe in my mouth. No hello, no what brings you in. Nothing. I don't even know her name. The dentist was was so rude to me! He was extremely short with me. Answered questions with ok? Like he had somewhere else to be. Every question answered was to get me out of the chair. He did my cleaning in all of 4 min. Honestly I have no idea what work is being scheduled. He never went over the treatment plan. He never asked why I was there? He never asked if I was in pain? I have an infected tooth it has a pustules on the gums He never gave me antibiotics. He said you need a root canal it'll cost you $5000. He said we're gonna get you a partial. He never explained what that was I looked it up on google. All in all not a great visit! Not Happy! I told the staff my concerns and here is their "caring" response.... Okay no problem we will remove you from the schedule and we apologize for any inconvenience. I first had to visit Dr.Michael mid pandemic for emergency treatment because of a chipped tooth causing me pain. I went back for a cleaning and after having not seen a dentist in 10+ years, Dr.Michael did a great job and my teeth looked and felt amazing. I've since been back 4 times to have dental work from previous places fixed. The staff there has always been very accommodating and kind. Other than people who want to show up late for appointments and demand to be accommodated immediately, therefore, screwing up the schedule and causing Dr.Michael to run behind because he actually cares about people and their dental health, I have zero complaints. I want to commend Dr.Michael on his patience, professionalism and always trying to make sure everyone is taken care of! read more

Dr. Michael is such a great asset to the neighborhood. Was looking for a dentist closer to my new home in South Philly and am so glad that I found him. The office is spotless and his staff is always pleasant. Dr. Michael himself is excellent! Quick and painless. Took his time to explain the procedures and worked out what was the most important thing to do immediately. And he worked things out with me when my insurance wasn't as good as we thought. Really affordable-even cheaper than my old dentist in Graduate Hospital area. Highly highly recommend this practice. Super nice guy. read more

This place is very disorganized...they kept telling me I didn't meet my deductible and that they are waiting for almost a week for Aetna to respond back to them..so when I got Aetna rep on the line to confirm I met my deductible...the doctor had a whole attitude..Beware they are overcharging, the male doctor comes in randomly to increase the price. They don't give you a receipt for the work done with the price list...they are very unprofessional. The staff and doctors talk about each other infront of client..the receptionist is rude and if you need clarification on the amount charged..we have to wait for the doctor to finish what they are doing...Please make sure you know your benefits before you go there...and question every pricing...they are a rip off...will never return back. First of all I don't know who you are referring to... If the insurance didn't approve why did you continue to do the work...you saw the person had insurance and wanted extra money...it's strange you didn't have a conversation when the person was right infront of you, but you have a lot to say on here...however you are still unprofessional and there was nothing given to me except for a sticky with handwritten amounts...the doctor said they have a print out in the back but never handed it to me...that's not professional at all. read more

After seeing the reviews online, I hoped for better. I love Dr. Michael his attention to detail is amazing and he himself has never given me misinformation. I also love the DA he works with, as for the other doctor and her DA I was very unimpressed and quite disappointed. She left my teeth rigid after she filled them and the DA made me really nervous with her commentary. The biggest discrepancy was with what my insurance covers the only one that can give me accurate information is Dr. Michael. I just think from working in customer service for 5 years theres a huge disconnect with his staff. Again I think he is extremely talented in his field I just wish the rest of his staff had the same empathy and attention to detail that he does. read more
