(I can't believe I forgot to take a photo of it!) The portion size is generous and very tasty. Homemade pasta is such a nice treat & I think Pasta Design does a solid job. I added parmigiana cheese & red pepper flakes to my dish to enhance the mild yet smooth pesto flavor & there was just the right amount of sauce. The young employee who helped me was very nice and helpful. The pasta can get pricey depending on how many add-ins you choose, but for the base pasta & sauce, it is $12.99. My dish ended up being a little over $20 with the chicken, broccoli, tax & tip. There's time of indoor & outdoor seating in the market. Should've checked the reviews before I ate here, what an amateur mistake! I guess that's the only way to get through all the different vendors in the liberty station public market. I wanted to try something different, rather than sticking with my go tos today and decided to try pasta design because the attraction of fresh pasta, showcased nicely in their display. The cashier recommended me the pasta dish with the crispy porchetta that comes with a creamy pesto (Alfredo + pesto) sauce with rigatoni. You can literally throw anything on fresh pasta and it would be good, but the portion for the price, you're better off going to an actual Italian restaurant. You would get a lot more bang for your buck and better quality. The sauce was just goopy and not that special and you get two small pieces of porchetta, way to skimp! Service was fine, you just order from the guy who obvious wants you to spend money here. I wouldn't dine here again, wouldn't recommend! So many better choices in this market. read more

The left menu screen listed the steps if you wanted to design your own bowl. The right menu screen displayed the preset entrees, salads, house specials, and desserts. You could also purchase pasta and ravioli by the pound. A glass display case showed the available noodles and salads. I decided to make my own item by selecting bucatini as the pasta, bolognese as the sauce, and sausage as a protein. The bowl was prepared in about 10 minutes. For $13.98, the serving size was meager as I had hoped there was going to be more. The noodles were cooked to the right degree, and the sauce had good flavor. The addition of sausage was probably unnecessary as the meat in the bolognese was sufficient. If you want Italian fare while at LPM, then this will be your spot. Waiting for the food took maybe about ten minutes which isn't terribly bad considering they're making your food just for YOU. I picked the pasta Alfredo with Burrata and broccoli for one dish and for the second one the spaghetti pasta with marinara, meat balls and sun-dried tomatoes both in the adult size. Let me tell you, they pack these food containers to the brim! One order can easily feed 2 people! Service was quick at the register, the cashier helped me put together the Alfredo pasta order with what went well together and it was a hit! Love it when staff has their suggestions on the menu too! The location is hidden inside the liberty public market at liberty station in Point Loma but easy to find once inside. I thought the pasta itself was very good, but my dish, all in all, was not terribly interesting. I couldn't taste the truffle oil at all, probably because I chose the spicy sauce, but I also didn't see any sauces on the menu that sounded good with truffle oil. I didn't feel that the sauce or toppings were really interesting. My husband enjoyed his dish, but didn't feel it was anything too remarkable. I don't usually eat ravioli because it's typically cooked with creamy sauce. I like how it's in arrabbiata sauce here, which is a spicy tomato sauce. It is just a perfect combination of lobster ravioli and the tomato sauce. The portion was good, which has about 10 pieces of ravioli. The price is going up for everything. The pasta costs $18 now!
