A wide variety of pizza choices
    Merriam W.

My friends and I had gone here once for gelato and we wanted to come back to try their pizza since it looked amazing! They have a pizza combo for 3 slices with beer for $22 which is a great deal, but I wasn't too hungry so I opted for two slices which are $6 each. There's a variety of pizza flavors to choose from. I got the eggplant because I love eggplant and one with potatoes which was delicious! However, the eggplant could have been baked longer because I felt it was undercooked and was a bit rubbery. I prefer my eggplant cooked longer. My friend got the lasagna slice which I wish I had seen earlier because I would have gotten that instead and she said it was really good. My friend got the meat and mushroom slice and she enjoyed it. I will have to try different flavors next time. The vegetarian pepe y cacio slice is another one I want to try! I don't know if it was the lack of staff or service, but when we had previously come here, the pizzas were nicely presented on a long wooden board, but this time ours were just on white paper plates which didn't look as presentable or appealing. The employee also disappeared at times so there were people waiting and we also had to wait for him to come back to get gelato for dessert. Their customer service could be improved upon. Their gelato is delicious and I recommend the banana walnut and hazelnut chocolate! This is a great spot if you're craving pizza and gelato. It's a one stop shop for dinner and dessert!

My daughter and I came here for a sweet treat after our Mother's Day brunch. We shared a medium cup with coffee hazelnut with salted caramel and banana walnut brownie. These 2 flavors were the perfect combo! It's interesting how the shop sold gelato and pizza. There was a large assortment of different types of pizzas that looked quite tasty, but we were stuffed. We were very happy with our gelato though! The space was rather small, but there was a long hightop table along the wall inside and stools, as well as some small tables and chairs in the front of the shop. It's not the prettiest place, but the gelato was good.

Stumbled upon this place with a friend and we decided to eat here! I love Italian sandwiches and I love pizza, so this place is literally the perfect combination of both! I enjoyed my slices and I like the combo they offer, which is 3 (big) slices and a drink. So many different choices and Service was great I would definitely come back!

The pizza is actually good and I am picky with pizza. Service was fast. The vibe of the place is cool. I like the restaurant.

Think of this review as a classic example of comparison & contrast. Yes, this review is a bit delayed, but after returning from Chicago, a city known for its pizza, I feel that I can reasonably claim that Chicago pizza doesn't compare to the masterpiece of culinary perfection served at Gelati & Peccati. Cuisine: 5/5. Full disclosure, I'm not a big pizza aficionado. In my experience, pizza usually either tastes over-processed or it lacks flavor--especially in the U.S. This was certainly my experience in Chicago. Large, dull slabs of dough, lacking in one iota of flavor, to the point where me and my European colleague kept pouring pepper on the pizza in the futile attempt to summon flavor out of the pizza. Up until my special experience at Gelati & Peccati, (sorry, I can't recall which slice I ordered), the only memorable pizza experience that forced me to reconsider my anti-pizza opinion was in Perpignan, France. And to be fair, this isn't an apples to apples comparison, as nearly every item of food in Europe tastes better than the over-processed poison served in the uniquely American hell-scape of chain restaurants and fast food joints. Note: there are many caveats to this claim, which include but aren't limited to Mexican food, Brazilian food, Thai food, Texas Brisket, Soul Food, and anything that isn't saltine cracker-bland AF. That said, the slice of heaven served at Gelati & Peccati is nothing but flames, and it stands in stark contrast to the banal slabs of dough purporting to be pizza in Chicago. Look, it's simple: I could actually taste each ingredient. Yes, the cheese tasted like actual cheese, and the veggies and sauce actually tasked like--food. This was just the paradigm shift that I needed when it comes to eating pizza in the U.S. I will definitely return the next time I pass through SD. Ambiance: 5/5. The woman working the ovens that night delivered authentic/energetic Euro vibes as she danced to EDM while preparing our pizzas. Definitely felt like we weren't in the states, which was refreshing. Much thanks! Buen provecho.

AMAZING gluten free pizza!!! You can even make a handful of pizzas vegan as well. The gluten free crust is fantastic: thick, airy, good crispy outside. The toppings on their pizza are creative and wonderful, from prosciutto to hot honey to potato! The prices on their pizza (especially the slices) is unbeatable. I would come many days in a row for these slices. The crew was always so kind about accommodating for my gluten free slice. They would ask for a little extra lead time which is totally cool, and make it without sour faces!!! I know it's annoying but it's greatly appreciated. Very small shop but I like how they squeeze in bar style seating. They have some tables outside to catch some sun and take in the North Park views. Open late for those late nights!

Definitely one of my favorite dinner options in North Park! I'm here in the area for shows at Observatory fairly frequently, and this is on my rotation of spots when I need a quick dinner. The crust is great because it's light & fluffy inside, crunchy outside. It also is a little healthier because it's lighter on cheese and sauce, heavier on fresh toppings. I love that they have tons of choices. This time I had mushroom, pepperoni, cheese, and hot honey. It was delicious, with tons of mushrooms. My friend enjoyed his jalapeño pepperoni and regular pepperoni as well. Their gelato is great too. My usual is the cherry hazelnut, but I usually try a tester of some of the seasonal flavors. Limited seating, either inside on the wall or a few tables outside. When I'm eating by myself, I usually get it to go.

A great spot for a quick but delicious slice of pizza! They have so many unique options and flavors, and a great display of their offerings at the window. I tend to gravitate towards pizzas without tomato sauce, and they had plenty of choices. I got one with tumeric and ricotta, and it was delicious and one slice was a perfect snack. The cashier was very friendly and warmed up the pizza for me, and there was casual counter seating where I enjoyed my pizza. They also serve gelato, which I definitely want to try next time! It's located in a popular walkable street in Norrh Park, and even open late for those who are there for the nightlife.

Diavolo was super spicy for me. The turmeric ome was good! It was flavorful and had some rasp jam for sweetness and added depth! the artichoke spicy one was also really good and i liked the taste. i liked it more than the diavolo! Its a small cozy and casual shop with counter seating and some outdoor seats! You go in and order the pizza and they will heat it up in the pizza oven for you. pretty quick and efficient.

    Best pup cups in town!!

Still the best pizza and gelato joint in town! You get the most awesome pizza cooked on a cedar board followed by sweet tasty gelato - what's not to like? Seating is outside and extremely limited. And little to no seating inside - this place is still packed. Great service as well - they are fast with the rush hour crowd. This is truly one of my favs!!

Pepperoni & honey and sausage & potato pizzas

So glad I stopped in here the other night and will definitely be returning! I swear I've walked by many times before and never noticed it. On this occasion, it was the pizzas displayed in the window that caught my attention, not to mention that I wanted dessert. In addition to the outdoor seating, they have seating against the wall of this cute compact restaurant. It's more of a rectangle with the enticing pizza at the front and gelato options towards the back. They have an amazing variety, some of which I would never have thought to combine before, let along put on pizza. Im also a huge fan of this style of pizza - packed with toppings and a square crispy crust. Another plus is their vegetarian and vegan options. While it was hard to choose, I went with the pepperoni/mushroom/mozzarella/honey pizza and the sausage/potato/rosemary pizza. So delicious and was surprised they gave 2 squares (I was only expecting 1). To add to the experience, they heated up the pizza and delivered it on a wooden slab. Lastly I got my dessert in the form of snickers gelato, perfect way to end the meal. Everything was 5 stars for me including the service, variety, taste and quality of the food and its cute cozy atmosphere. I will be back to try other combos!

Pistachio / Olive Oil Orange Zest and Agave
    Helen H.

The pizza looked good with a variety of choices. I came here for gelato though. I had a small cup with a choice of two flavors. I went with my go to pistachio and also something interesting- olive oil, orange zest, & agave. The pistachio was average. I sampled the olive oil and liked it, but the scoop I was given was melty. Meh.

Amazing pizza!!! Could be cleaner. Street parking. Outdoor seating. No A/C. Seems very authentic. Good area. Gelato looked good but I didn't try it

Unfortunate, our son ordered the special which was a version of the Osco Bucco. It arrived with the meat still frozen. By the time it was redone, everyone had finished so he took a few bites and packaged it to go. I felt his experience was disappointing. After a long day at the beach, we ordered a bottle of wine, and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't ridiculously overpriced. Sitting outside, enjoying a glass of wine and watching Little Italy come alive was exactly what we needed. Our server was exceptional. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. But let's talk about the food... The food was AMAZING. We ordered several different things, and everything we tried was delicious, but the pappardelle with short ribs was the standout. The pasta was absolutely fantastic--rich, comforting, and exactly the kind of Italian comfort food you want at the end of a long day. And then there was the dessert case... Oh. My. Goodness. Everything in that case looked like it was personally designed to make you regret saying, "No, we're too full for dessert." Nonna was exactly what we were hoping for that evening: great food, great service, a beautiful Little Italy setting, and a relaxed atmosphere where we could sit outside and enjoy ourselves. I can't wait to go back and eat some more Italian comfort food--and next time, I'm getting the tiramisu.

It was a Friday evening and every restaurant on the street was full and vibrant. You could Yelp these places all day long and it would be hard to choose. There's so many great restaurants around Little Italy. Mimmo's reached out and called us in. There were pretty white tablecloths, the hostess was smiling ready to answer any questions and of course, the menu looked wonderful. Voilà! We'd found our spot. Our waiter was so personable and had all the answers to our inquiries. He suggested items and even answered honestly when needed. I got a Le Pécora Nera Sangria (fizzy blackberry with lemon). Tasty, but too many blackberry seeds coming up the straw. I'd get another one next time. For the appetizers: RISOTTO ARANCINI (a MUST get) - these were absolutely delicious. Four good size bread crumbed fried balls of risotto sitting in the restaurant's own tomato gravy. HOMEMADE FOCACCIA WITH DIPPING OIL (yes, that's the official name) - this is a basket of super soft, warm focaccia bread for a great price. I would get it no matter what main course you're getting! It soaks up every sauce and it's just delicious. MAIN: BAKED LASAGNA (meat) - with the two appetizers this is the perfect size for both of us. No need to get one per person! It was absolutely wonderful. I would get it again. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful and the employees we came in contact with were great as well. We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant. A solid recommendation on my part.
