Where has this restaurant been all my life! Coming here on a Monday or a Tuesday is a no brainer for a foodie on a budget! You practically get fed authentic Italian dishes for free. The restaurant is stunning, with beautiful candles, fresh flowers on every table, and a gorgeous waterfall outside. They normally play movies during dinner. We practically ordered everything on the menu and our bill was less than $50. $8 pizza on Mondays/ $15 for their speciality pizza, $7 salads, $2 beer, and $5 glass of wine?? Its wild!! Mind you, the service was 100/10! Everything came out quickly, even on a busy night, and multiple handsome servers came to check on us. We will definitely be regulars because I cannot stop raving about them!

Been here multiple times for both their Monday Build Your Own Pizza Night and Tuesday Build Your Own Pasta Night. Both nights feature $5 glasses of house wine and $2 beers. I personally prefer Pasta Night. My favorite dish is the Lemon Ricotta Signature Pasta. They also offer deals on select appetizers and salads. I highly recommend trying the cheesy garlic bread, Rustico Salad di Casa, and the beet goat cheese salad. I also love that I can enjoy a meal out with friends while staying lowcarb by ordering a salad topped with a side of protein. They offer both indoor dining and outdoor patio dining in the back. Their patio is super charming and decorated with romantic string lights, making it a great spot for date night. The staff are always warm, welcoming, and friendly, which makes the experience even better! The only downside is the tiny parking lot. The last few times I've visited, it was completely full so I had to park a few streets away.

Words can't describe how much I love Alexander's! It's my favorite place in San Diego and I've been coming here for the past 10 years. I decided to celebrate my birthday here with my girl friends since it's an intimate place! The servers were so nice and friendly. We sat on the patio on Monday where they were streaming Legally Blonde! The food was perfect and by the end of the night they brought out a large cutting board with an assortment of desserts. After we were done the servers did not hesitate to come out of the restaurant and asked us if we wanted our picture taken. She even went out on the street to make sure we had the perfect shot. 10/10 would always recommend Alexander's.

Came here on a Tuesday with my girlfriends and this place is bussssssssy. We were one of the last parties seated for the night and it was still a full house. Important to note that while Tuesdays are promoted as $8 Make-Your-Own pasta dishes. The $8 only covers the noodle and a marinara or meat sauce. If you want additional ingredients like special sauce, protein or even veggies, it's an extra charge for each item. Regardless, I do still think the meal overall tasted delicious! Perfect spot for a nice date or girls night

Came for Tuesday's pasta night and was very pleased with the dishes! I really enjoyed the lemon ricotta crema and the baked vodka bolognese. I recommend making a reservation for the Tuesday pasta night on Open Table. I would definitely come back again. It was an enjoyable experience! Parking can be kind of rough, may need to park a few blocks away.

I came here with a friend for the Tuesday happy hour deal ($8 pastas and $5 wine). It was busy, but thankfully we made a reservation and didn't have to wait. Ambiance: great place for friends, date night, special occasion. We sat in the outdoor patio area and there were heaters around which kept us warm and cozy. Didn't love the bathroom situation; there are 2 bathrooms but they aren't really next to each other and there's not a lot of room to wait so it was a bit awkward to stand in the middle of the hallway and in front of other tables while waiting. Service: efficient, nice, friendly Food: The $8 sound enticing and gets you in the door, but be aware that it's for the bare minimum pasta (pasta + marinara/meat sauce). If you want protein, cheese, veggies, etc, there are extra charges. I ended up just getting the $16 Baked Vodka Bolognese since I thought the value was better than the buid-your-own. It was hot, cheesy deliciousness. My friend and I split the garlic bread which is this warm, crispy bread that comes with garlic sauce, and it was only $2! What a steal! We didn't order any wine so can't comment on that. Parking: Not great. Come early to account for this. Parked a few blocks away. It wasn't too bad, but it was very dark, so I had to use my phone flashlight for some of it. Overall, not the most amazing pasta I've ever had, but it's solid. $2 garlic bread is worth it.

Really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here! Came on a Wednesday about 20 minutes earlier than our reservation time and got seated right away. We were able to find easy free street parking no problem about a block away around 6:30pm. The host and our waitress were lovely. We received complimentary garlic bread to start. The garlic and buttered side was SO good, but after that it's just plain dry bread, and we wished more of it had the garlic buttery goodness! The absolute star of the show was the lasagne, it was so flavorful, delicious, and filling! The vodka bolognese was what I was most excited about, but my preference for vodka sauce is creamier and thicker so it sticks to the noodle, where this was pretty thin and seemed to slide off for the most part. Once the sunset, it was SO dark in the restaurant. I wanted to pick around the mushrooms in the vodka bolognese, but literally had to turn on my phone flashlight because I couldn't clearly see in front of me without it. Only other note is we did select the option when making the reservation to indicate that it was our anniversary, but there was no mention of it in any way shape or form. I don't even need a free dessert or anything, but even just simply saying "happy anniversary" from anyone who worked there and saw our reservation note would've gone a long way.

I came for their Tuesday $8 Pasta night and I highly recommend your next happy hour/girls dinner night here! $5 house red and white wine (Pinot Grigio was their house white and it was yummmmy) For their $8 pasta selection -- I ordered the spaghetti w. meat sauce and added mushrooms. The food was really amazing! I was nervous it wasn't going to be as good because of how good the deal was itself - but I highly recommend you to come and try it out! There are also appetizers that they have on the menu for $5-7 that are also worth trying! I ordered the caprese. it seems like it's pretty packed here so make a reservation in advance or get here early!

Worst take out ever! Loved eating here w family and ordered on Uber Eats-pic below is the $18 Brie-stale piece of bread, pizza had zero cheese after being charged for the ricotta. Love in person, literally order takeout from anywhere else!

Made a reservation at 5pm. We were the first and only people in the restaurant as it was opening time to be fair. Nobody there and we were a seated next to the two out-of-order bathrooms. Floors were covered in food debris from night before. Forks were dated, filthy, and not proper size for a semi-upscale place. Salad and dinner forks were same size. I got food poisoning from the penne in pink sauce. Yay. Tasted like the Heavy cream was expired. Server was nice and that's about it. Got to listen to staff in back cussing and gossiping. Not a pleasant experience. Paid $100 for food borne illness. I'm sure this place was great once upon a time, but needs a major overhaul in management, decor, and cleanliness. I have worked in the industry and at an upscale Italian restaurant in Portland, OR. This place gave second-hand embarrassment vibes pretty bad. I mean no malice, and I really hope this review finds its way to the right person with good intentions to help make the place as nice as I assumed it was back in the day. But as it stands now? Not in good standing. :(

    Chicken piccata, very good!
    Linda H.

I visited with a group, ordering the Chicken Piccata. My entree was very good, lots of flavor, but the sauce was a little thin for my taste. But I'm no piccata oficianado! It was full of capers and mushrooms, very enjoyable. But I have to say, the complimentary garlic bread stole the show!!! I would return for that, alone. I had a glass of Tuscan Chianti to round it off. Service was excellent. There was a romantic vibe to the place, I think it would be great for date night.

My friends and I came for Pizza Mondays with $2 beer, $5 wine, and $8 build your own pizzas with a couple dollars for each extra you add. It's a beautiful restaurant and has a very cute patio with heat lamps and string lights. The servers were helpful and friendly. We made two build your own pizzas and both were delicious. With an appetizer or two, the two pizzas were enough for our group of six. There are no reservations on Monday and Tuesday for pizza and pasta nights so the wait was about 45 minutes but if you plan to walk around North Park for a while or get a drink elsewhere while you wait it can work out fine. They included a 20% tip built into the bill, so check for that when calculating whatever tip you may wish to leave. Lovely experience, I'll definitely be coming back!

Angel hair with marinara, pancetta & mushrooms
    Marissa D.

Pretty disappointing. Came for their $8 pasta Tuesday night and ordered an ANGEL HAIR MARINARA with pancetta & mushrooms and then a RIGATONI MARINARA with chicken. Both were just lackluster sauce that tasted out of a can and the mushrooms were so huge and chewy. Also got their garlic bread to start and there was only garlic on the first slice so the rest was just bread. Glad I came for their discount pasta night and not their regular priced menu.
