My high school daughter and her boyfriend had a 6:30 PM 8/8/26 reservation at Alexander's on 30th. I personally dropped them off right in front of the restaurant at exactly 6:30 PM. Unfortunately, they did not receive their food until 8:12 PM, almost two hours after their reservation time. I understand that restaurants can get busy, especially on a Saturday night, but waiting nearly two hours for food when you have a reservation is unacceptable. What disappointed me even more was that they are both high school students, and I felt that they were not given the same level of attention or service that adult customers would expect. I would not recommend this restaurant for younger diners going out on their own based on the experience my daughter and her boyfriend had. I really wanted to like Alexander's. Their concept with their pizza mondays makes it for a fun evening in a such a cutely designed interior. We had a reservation for 6. We sat down pretty instantly which was great. Our waiter was friendly and explained everything on the menu pretty thoroughly. He mentioned pizzas would take about 40min which was fine. We ordered a few appetizers: the Brie and bread, bruschetta and the garlic bread. Those came out sporadically and tasted pretty good. Now for the pizzas. I took a bite of mine and it was like chewing cardboard. It was so hard and overdone that I couldn't even eat another slice. These slices were also tiny and thin so you'd figure it shouldn't be too hard to eat. I looked over at my friends and unfortunately two of them felt the same way. We just kept chewing and I felt like I was getting a defined jawline with all my chewing lol. We then lost our waiter for a good portion of the dinner. When we tried to pay we gave our card to another staff member since we couldn't find our guy. When our guy came back, he gave us the check we paid since we wanted to leave but then we had to chase down the initial staff member who we had given one of our cards to. Where has this restaurant been all my life! Coming here on a Monday or a Tuesday is a no brainer for a foodie on a budget! You practically get fed authentic Italian dishes for free. The restaurant is stunning, with beautiful candles, fresh flowers on every table, and a gorgeous waterfall outside. They normally play movies during dinner. I personally prefer Pasta Night. My favorite dish is the Lemon Ricotta Signature Pasta. They also offer deals on select appetizers and salads. I highly recommend trying the cheesy garlic bread, Rustico Salad di Casa, and the beet goat cheese salad. I decided to celebrate my birthday here with my girl friends since it's an intimate place! The servers were so nice and friendly. Didn't love the bathroom situation; there are 2 bathrooms but they aren't really next to each other and there's not a lot of room to wait so it was a bit awkward to stand in the middle of the hallway and in front of other tables while waiting. Service: efficient, nice, friendly Food: The $8 sound enticing and gets you in the door, but be aware that it's for the bare minimum pasta (pasta + marinara/meat sauce). If you want protein, cheese, veggies, etc, there are extra charges. I ended up just getting the $16 Baked Vodka Bolognese since I thought the value was better than the buid-your-own. It was hot, cheesy deliciousness. My friend and I split the garlic bread which is this warm, crispy bread that comes with garlic sauce, and it was only $2! What a steal! Really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here! Came on a Wednesday about 20 minutes earlier than our reservation time and got seated right away. We were able to find easy free street parking no problem about a block away around 6:30pm. The host and our waitress were lovely. We received complimentary garlic bread to start. I got food poisoning from the penne in pink sauce. Yay. Tasted like the Heavy cream was expired. Server was nice and that's about it. Got to listen to staff in back cussing and gossiping. Not a pleasant experience. Paid $100 for food borne illness. I'm sure this place was great once upon a time, but needs a major overhaul in management, decor, and cleanliness. It's a beautiful restaurant and has a very cute patio with heat lamps and string lights. The servers were helpful and friendly. We made two build your own pizzas and both were delicious. With an appetizer or two, the two pizzas were enough for our group of six. There are no reservations on Monday and Tuesday for pizza and pasta nights so the wait was about 45 minutes but if you plan to walk around North Park for a while or get a drink elsewhere while you wait it can work out fine. So I really wanted to go to their Tuesday night pasta and wine deal, in order to do this I have to make a reservation 3 months in advance. One Tuesday I tried to be a walk in and I was surprised that the reactions were so far out, and they could reserve my spot at the podium, I had to go online and check every single Tuesday individually until I found a Tuesday with an open reservation. So I had pretty high hopes for this place, and honestly it was pretty basic. I didn't find the pasta dishes to be anything special. Also the base price for the pasta with a basic red sauce was $8 and then each topping added cost extra. I wasn't expecting that but I guess I should have believed the deal sounded too good to be true. I ended up adding 3-4 topping to my dish and it came out to the price of a regular pasta dish. The customization was fun but I wouldn't say it was too much cheaper. The one thing that did stand off out to me was their beet and goat cheese salad! I loved how big the beet chunks were and it was so refreshing, highly recommend it. The ambiance was fine, they lit a lot of candles so the restaurant was pretty dark. Aside from the head lights that shined through the window from the street. They were going for elevated ambiance but I wasn't sure it was quite there. Been seeing this all over social media and had the Alexander's Tuesday Special Happy Hour on our restaurant bucket list for moooonths. No reservations available online so we just waited in line for walk-in. Got a table right away. We got the Tuesday menu-- nice deals but limited. $5 wines (1 red & 1 white) pretty solid. Atmosphere was a little weird. Sesame bread w/olive oil and vinegar. The bread was so soft inside!!! And tasty. Caprese, good but a lil small. The vodka rigatoni bolognese was so good we ordered it AGAIN. We told our server we wanted to come back for the regular menu... then he said they DO have it available on Tuesdays as well! It's just barely anyone orders from it during the happy hour day. Would've been nice to know at the beginning. :( Regardless, we do still want to come back. The food was pretty good, at a great price point. I'd like to try a seafood pasta & other regular menu items. read more
