Great accidental find! I was meeting friends for a comedy show a few doors down and scored spot right infront of this restaurant. The smell and owner John/Josh drew me in. He was sitting steps from the door. My curiosity brought me in, after reviewing the menu I told him I'll have to come back. To my surprise the place I was going to didn't have actual food, just light snacks. Since I hadn't eaten dinner, some cheese and olive were not going to cut it. I rushed back, ordered the Bolognese with Pappardelle. They put a rush on it knowing I had a show to catch. My friend and I grabbed a seat on their spacious patio. Within 5 minutes, a pipping hot bowl of savory gooey goodness was presented. The pasta was covered with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan. It was a melted light cheese blanket covering the dish. I'm really disappointed writing this because this used to be one of our favorite spots. We've come here many times and always loved the food -- it's honestly amazing, and it's a place our special needs child truly enjoys. That's what makes this experience even more upsetting. Today completely changed how we feel about this place. As I walked in, a large, very dirty and smelly dog ran right past me and straight into the kitchen area. An employee allowed the dog to be back there and even let it lick a spoon. It was honestly shocking and completely unsanitary. To make matters worse, after I paid and was walking out, the same customer allowed the dog to stand directly on the counter where customers order. Even the owner of the dog mentioned that it needed a bath, which says a lot about how bad the smell was. The employee didn't say anything or try to stop it, which was very concerning. I understand people love their pets, but there are basic hygiene standards that should never be ignored, especially in a food establishment. This crossed a line. We've always come here for the quality of the food, but after what we saw today, we can't overlook it. It really makes you wonder what else might be happening behind the scenes. updated review! just wanted to post this to upload some better photos after my second visit. i had to get the pesto pappardelle again, and my bf got the bolognese + alfredo sauce pappardelle (i saw in another review that this combo is delish). we also tried the margherita pizza this time, and i loved every single dish. the pasta here is consistently amazing and i still consider this my go-to pasta spot despite how far i live from it. there's also plenty of outside seating, and we were able to park right in front of the restaurant on a sunday afternoon. another 10/10 experience! read more

As I told these guys who work here, this pasta tastes even better than the one that my Italian grandma cooks. Their bolognese with mushrooms is a culinary staple. The flavors are rich and savory. I was visiting the city and I ate here twice! On top of the delicious food I got to meet Manuel who is a fun, sweet angel from Milano. Pastiamo is my go to source for fresh pasta. They serve pastas in your choice of shape with your choice of sauces in a fast casual way. It is made to order, so it takes a bit to get it, but worth the wait. They also sell the fresh pasta raw for $3.50 per portion. It might be a bit more than the refridgerated section at the grocery store, but it is in a paper sack, so there is no plastic and you know it was just made locally rather than in some factory who knows how long ago. There is an open air, covered patio for eating there, but since everything is packed in to go containers, you can also take it down to the beach or home with you. read more

Although there's no indoor seating this establishment offers beautiful outdoor seating. They also offer authentic Italian coffee from a cart in the courtyard. You are able to bring your own alcoholic drinks with you and there is no cork fee! The pasta is delicious and fresh as is the sauces they come in. My friends and I each got something different and each dish was salty (I love savory and eat salty myself but can still say this tipped the scale in the saltiness). It's good, but it is better mixed with the alfredo. I came back three times within a span of three weeks and brought a new friend each time & they all agreed that (1) the mix of sauces and the choice of pasta noodle is supreme and (2) that this is the best handmade pasta place they have ever tried. My friend just spent 12 days touring Italy and I'm going to make her try this place. The portion might look a tad small, but it's surprisingly very filling! If you're still hungry though, drive a min and you can grab a fish taco at Oscar's for $1.99 on a Tuesday. Order ahead so you can skip the long line. Pastiamo is one of my favorite local spots here in PB! The owner is from Milan I believe, so everything here is very authentic Italian The pasta is all made fresh and the portion sizes are generous! I go with the rigatoni marinara to keep it simple and it is just to die for. The sauce tastes so fresh and you can feel the love in every bite. And they give you some yummy bread with every order. I was in PB, had a craving for pasta, and I found Pastiamo. I ordered the Carbonara, and it was like I was back in Italy. Creamy with real Guanciale not just bacon or pancetta. The price was pretty reasonable, so I added in some meatballs. I ate there and the owner was super nice and had the authentic Italian accent. Just wow. My wife and I had our son over for dinner and he really wanted pasta. So, where better to get it than a place called Pastiamo that makes FRESH pasta every day? There were six choices of pasta -- all vegan, which we really appreciated -- and many different sauces to choose from. I placed orders for four different prepared pastas with sauce: spaghetti with marinara and eggplant (vegan) for my wife, pappardelle with marinara (vegan) for me, and for our son, pappardelle with meatballs and rigatoni with lamb sauce. Our orders were ready in 15 minutes -- nicely packed and ready to take home. The pasta was PERFECTION, super fresh and cooked al dente. And we loved the sauces -- complex and flavorful. My wife and I licked our plates clean and our son had enough left over to take home with him for tomorrow. While I wish there were more vegan sauce options (mushrooms -- please??)
