We were seated for 15 minutes with no service. I went to a manager and Lauren with some tude. Everything we ordered was on happy hour, but Lauren charged full price. Again to the manager who corrected it. I left a 10% tip, which I thought appropriate, but Lauren changed it to 18%! She literally stole from us. My advice, don't go there. Consistent everytime! The aroma of garlic is so tantalizing, it will pull you in from every direction. While it is casual and laid back, it gives you the feel of being in a little Italy or even a wonderful New York hidden gem. The openness of the fresh breeze is so soothing on a great fall day. The specials are wonderful but it is hard to drift far from the standards, which there are so many. If you don't love the tomato sauce then make it tomato cream, Alfredo, or pesto. First timer (covid19 timeframe). Excellent place for good and Heavy Italian dishes. The garlic bread is excellent. Had the trio choice pasta with gnocchi, rigatoni, tortellini. All was great beside gnocchi. (Seemed like packaged type and wasn't great tasting) dish was huge and more than I can eat. Overall the experience was good (as a tourist visiting). Pasta Jay's is always busy on the weekends and given that they don't take reservations unless you are a party of 6 or more you are very likely to wait between 30-45 min for a table. What really sucks is that they don't have a message service that notify you when your table is ready, you have to wait next to the restaurant to hear your name. If it's cold outside, waiting can be no fun. We were in no hurry so we waited in a coffee shop close by and came back around 9pm. We were seated 5 min after arriving given no one was waiting anymore during that time. The place gets 4 stars because for the price you get a lot of food and, depending on the dish, it's good too. I went with the lobster Mac n cheese and it was delicious. Wish they added more lobster portion but for $26 I understand they might be carful with the portion. As the Mac n cheese portion it was huge and I couldn't finish it. My friend went with the Alfredo sauce fettuccine and shrimp pasta. I thought his dish was just ok. This is a solid choice for an Italian restaurant in Boulder. I had chicken marsala which comes with a side of pasta. The chicken was well seasoned and delicious. A family member luckily had the jumbo shells and I was able to have a bite. The shells have the right amount of cheese and basil. The location on Pearl street makes it convenient to other attractions that may be of interest although it is towards the west end of the main drag. The ambiance is pleasant having a very relaxed environment with creative use of lighting and red tones throughout. The menu has enough selections to please a large group of people and the pricing is good considering it is on Pearl. I will come back. read more

This is by far the worst Italian food I have eaten. Based on the crowds, we figured that this place would be good. I got the special , brisket Mac and cheese, and it was broiled roast beef with Alfredo sauce and a little shredded cheese on top. The pasta was overdone and the beef was dry as a bone.
