The pasta was "meh" and expensive for not having a lot of protein options. And their "over $4" caprese salad comes with only 2 small mozzarella balls and 3 grape tomatoes (rip off). It's more of a take out place with very little seating options. They have 1 big table and some bar chairs. Their staff definitely needs better training in customer service. We had two bros that appeared to be college students helping us that could care less about anything but running to the back to get on their phones once they served us our mediocre pasta (not to mention we were a party of 5 and they only gave us 3 napkins and 4 water cups). It's a tourist trap. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else. read more

The pasta was really good, the service was as good as it could get because it was crazy crowded and busy. We had the same idea as everyone else, carbon load before the Boulderthon race. I will say this little place took a beating with all of the customers orders. My friends and I did have to wait a very long time for our food to go, but the lady that gave us our food apologized. She was super sweet and offered us a drink on the house. Probably on another day, when its not as hectic, it would be great to sit outside and enjoy the food under beautiful weather while people watching. This is a cute little casual restaurant. The pasta was freshly made in front of you. The prices are pretty reasonable for the portions served. I also tried the ginger drink which was pretty refreshing. I like that they have options to just purchase the uncooked pasta so you can make it at home. Pretty disappointed with this place. I ordered two pasta dishes and two coconut waters. With tip it was $52 dollars. Oh and $10 for parking that was difficult to find. Portions were small, could not add on any proteins. Pasta was al dente, too much for my liking. Staff were great, place was clean and calming. I just can't get behind the cost and portion. If you are going to charge me $17.00 for a simple pasta dish it be twice the size as what we got. I will not be back and can't recommend this place. read more

Home made and feels just like home! The food is so fresh and soooo high quality. The staff / owners are amazing. They made us feel so welcome and so important and appreciated. In town for a campus visit with my daughter, and this was a last-night take-in decision we made after deciding we'd walked ourselves into total submission after three days. Should she end up attending CU, at least I know where I'll be ordering in pasta for the next four years' worth of parents' weekends. Incredibly satisfying and tasty pasta--I had the Amatriciana, she had the pesto--and perfectly cooked (that little touch of al dente, even after traveling) and portioned. Just fantastic. With all the great reviews I was excited to try this place. I ordered the carbonara the past was on the softer side and the sauce lacked any real flavor except for the pepper. Lacked the true flavor or anything close I also ordered the cacio d Pepe. This was also covered in pepper and lacked the flavor usually made with proper cheeses. We just returned from Italy and ate both these several times. neither tasted anything close to these. The concept is great wish the quality and experience was better. read more

I give it a 4.5, but only because my Cacio E Pepe was very salty. Besides that the pesto my partner got was incredible. The staff was two young women that were very friendly, fast, and efficient in cooking. The interior was clean, cool, and welcoming. They also had a cooler of raw noodles you could buy to take home which I thought was pretty neat. I will definitely be back up to Boulder to try more of their dishes. read more

Run to this place! It's the best pasta and sauce hands down. I'm a native Philadelphian so I know good Italian. Stefano and Rachel, husband and wife team, have created magic here. It was very hard to choose just one dish but I ultimately decided on the pasta pomodoro. Insert chef's kiss. It was literally perfection. The pasta and sauce were so fresh. It was as if the tomatoes were cut from their vines minutes before making it to my plate. Simple, fresh, delicious. I'm already planning my returns so I can make my way through the menu. What they're also very known for is their takeaway. This is the concept the company was actually built out of but they do have limited seating for folks like me who like to dine in. I chatted with Stefano for a bit and he's the nicest guy and super passionate about the ingredients they use. Pricey, top quality ingredients... and utterly worth it... like all Italian imports. Wonderful Italian takeout (with a small counter if you want to eat in) that uses authentic Northern Italian recipes and home made pasta made daily from ingredients imported from Italy by the Italian Chef. I had the Ragu Bolognese which was prepared right in front of me. Unlike low end "fake Italian" joints, my dish was fresh, healthy, and wonderful. Fresh, fast, authentic, and delicious! We stopped in here to get some meals to go. They do have a fairly large table to dine in, as well as bar seating where you can watch them cook up your meal. The owner is from Italy and takes great pride and care to ensure everything is authentic. He has brought all the equipment and ingredients from Italy to make the pasta in house. You walk in and order from a kiosk. Dine in or carry out you can watch them cook it up while you wait. They also have pasta you can purchase and take home to cook yourself. We got three different kinds. Gricia - pork cooked to a crisp and pepper sauteed to coat mezze maniche. My hubby's fav! Amatriciana - tomato sauce spiced by Italian chilis and enriched with decadent pork over casarecce. Not spicy for us, but we have high heat tolerance. Ragu Alla Bolognese -Tossed with freshly made pappardelle (dine in) or mezze maniche (take away). My fav of the three! I would def stop by again. Pasta Press is right around the corner from my office on Pearl St and I had heard great things from my teammates so I had to try it. I looked through the menu and they cover many of my favorites so it was not as easy choice but I decided to go with the Cacio e Pepe which is basically pasta and pepper in a light pasta water sauce. The pasta was absolutely delicious with perfectly cooked pasta with the pepper sauce that had that nice bite and texture. I try not to eat pasta as much as I could but this joint is going to be hard to stay away from and next on my list is there Carbonara which I am excited to try. Favorite restaurant I ate at during my trip to Colorado! We got to sit at the counter and see the pasta be made fresh and run through the machine that cuts up the dough. It was nice to see them cook the pasta fresh on the pan as well right in front of us -- the butter and herbs were sizzled right in front of us and smelled so good. I got the Pasta In Bianco and it was so affordable for how yummy it was. The texture of the noodles were so tender and the seasoning light and not too salty (the olive oil drizzled on it too was a nice touch). The employees were super nice and the store was super clean. I wish they had this shop in Texas ! I'm craving it right now... when I come back to Colorado this will be on my list to stop by. read more

Found this cute spot by chance. We wanted something different and quaint. Fresh pressed pasta with simple ingredients hit the spot. You can tell fresh from boxed. The noodles have this pillowy texture. We gave the day old bread a chance and my my, you couldn't tell it wasn't made the very same day. Just enough crunch, soft, and loaded with flavor. We wanted to do some dessert but the meal itself was so filling there was no vacancy for a treat. I left one star off because I heard an employee talk of being out of a certain noodle and shortly after a woman came rushing in with a store run. I liked seeing organic salads in the bags but I was a little surprised when I noticed the sound of dry pasta tapping against cardboard. I saw multiple blue boxes that resembled a store bought boxed noodle, Barilla. I can't say whether these were to be used as a substitute or trial run on a new recipe for employees only but I think if you run out of the fresh, please don't used a boxed substitute. Update: Thanks for the quick response and reasoning for the boxed pasta. As I stated, it was a warranted question not an accusation. Look what my comment made happen. Now we all know if one is to see you or another employee enter with boxed pasta again that it's for the gluten intolerant with another company and not to be served in your restaurant. Thanks for your opinion about me needing to reign in my "suspicions" but I'm going to stick to asking questions when I'm in wonder about the food I'm going to consume. We got take out from this cute little place. Great fresh pasta! We loved the ARRABBIATA and the RAGU ALLA BOLOGNESE, both we vibrant and lavorful. The FOCACCIA was amazing- super fresh and buttery. The only thing we would not order again was the cacio e pepe- the pasta was great but the cheese on it was very strong and overpowered it. Right off of the Pearl Street Mall, Pasta Press serves up a fresh & creamy plate of pasta. Not wild about the kiosk ordering -- and I wish they had more variety, with meats (hey, it's Boulder!) -- but I really enjoyed & will be back. Delicious and authentic pasta dishes. My husband had the Bolognese, I had the carbonara, and my son had the pesto. All three dishes were amazing. I have eaten at a number of very nice restaurants in various cities in Italy and this pasta was comparable. Not a ton of seating, but the food was so good I would have stood while I ate. read more

This is the best pasta in Boulder. My expectations were high after seeing the website, which gives you a little paragraph of history on each dish. When you walk in, it looks more like a laboratory than an American-Itlalian restaurant. With such a small space, the efficient design makes sense. I got the pesto and focaccia. Both were phenomenal. The portion looked a bit small, but it was filling. It only took about 5 minutes from when I ordered it for it to be ready. I had to dig on Yelp to find this place, I'm only writing this review to help with their visibility. They deserve it. For the owner who checks these reviews: I wish you could buy a larger portion. 2 entrees would be too much, but when I finished I wanted more. I had been really wanting to try this place out after reading so many great reviews and I love homemade pasta. We were wanting takeout so we decided it would be a good time to give this place a try since it was mentioned as a good place for takeout. We ordered the Ragu alla Bolognese and the spicy Amatriciana. Maybe too much time passed from when it was made to when we were able to eat, but by the time we got home, my pasta (the Amatriciana) was barely warm. I unfortunately had to head it up (which I tried to keep to a minimum), but of course doing so slightly cooked the noodles. No one likes overcooked noodles, but I did want to enjoy my food hot. My sauce and noodles didn't have much flavor, but the bits of Guanciale (pork) were delicious. Unfortunately there weren't that many bits in my dish. My boyfriend's Ragu was much warmer and I did enjoy the flavor, although I definitely didn't find it to be the best Ragu I've ever had. Maybe it was an off night or we should try dining in, the people working seemed very nice and I'd like to give them business! Just wanted to share my experience here so far. read more
