Really bad service experience. A young, inexperienced server who couldn't serve alcohol. This one on management We arrived at 5:15.with only one other table occupied. I asked for a sample of a wine and we ordered food. I repeated my request for a wine sample 3x. 30 minutes later I got the sample and ordered a glass. 20 minutes after that the wine arrived We ordered our meals at 5:30. We repeatedly asked and got apologies. Dinner arrived an hour after we ordered. We asked for boxes and left. read more

This is a place that feels like home - very comfortable setting with the kindest and hardest-working people. I love that it's family-run. I love their journey to opening this restaurant (ask them about it!), and I'm so impressed with the owner who is expecting and still on her feet all day working hard. I love their new item: carrot cake with pineapples. It was moist, perfectly sweet (not cloyingly), and even jiggled. I've also tried their absolutely delicious blueberry/cheese pizza, pear arugula salad with salmon, and breakfast pizza. Their chopped kale salad with chicken parmesan is also a great choice. Their blueberry pancakes are so thick and fluffy, and you get four of these! So much food. The employees are so nice and perfectly attentive. The owners are so kind as well. I love the decor - it feels homey and comfortable. There is also outdoor seating in the front. I feel very comfortable here. So first, the most important thing: the food. I saw the blueberry chèvre pizza with basil and honey and thought, I have to try this. And it's really good. Very unusual but not too sweet. We also had cheese bread and my child had spaghetti and that was all good, but the standout is the pizza. Yum. My husband has a seafood pasta which he said was fine. The restaurant is very pretty and clean, and feels cozy. The service is friendly. I will say it was very slow. It took a very long time to get our food. read more

Writing this because we had a pretty bad experience. We came in Saturday evening of Mother's Day weekend to take my mother in law out for dinner. When my wife originally made the reservation on google it took them 2 days to confirm it. Once we came in it was fairly empty, the front part of the restaurant had just a few tables with a larger party of about 10 in the back part. There were about 4 tables seated outside as well, so about 30% capacity. The hostess was prompt and offered us a couple different options for tables. Once we were seated she brought waters and we waiting a few minutes for our server to come by. We immediately noticed how loud the manager/bartender was. She was happy but you could hear her the next block over. Additionally my wife's white linen napkin was dirty and had food on it. Our server came by and let us know we had a couple minutes to get some apps in to get the happy hour discount. We ordered the meatball garlic knots. This is where things started to go wrong. We noticed a couple other tables waiting a long time for their food. After waiting 30 minutes for our appetizer we grabbed the hostess to ask our server what was going on. Three different servers came by after to notify us with three different excuses that the appetizer was on its way and to apologize including that another server took them to the wrong table. We waited another 15 and finally got them. We had to ask for bread in the meantime because my wife took her insulin and had to eat something. They didn't even offer anything to tide us over, just poor excuses. We noticed more tables getting upset their food was taking forever, including tables waiting for Parmesan cheese grating after their meals had come 10 minutes before, and tables waiting for drinks. The servers have to get their own alcoholic drinks by the way, another thing diverting their attention and time. We finally got our food after an hour and my chicken piccata was ok, but it was one breast butterflied and missing the other half so a small portion. The veggies that came with were steamed, soggy, and unseasoned. Bland all around. My mother in laws chicken Marsala had a clear watery sauce and she had twice the chicken so clearly the portion sizes were off. I don't think they have an expo to check dishes going to tables either because it was sporty plated, unseasoned, there was no seasoning on what looked like boiled chicken, nor was there a light flour coating and pan fried as you expect Marsala to be. The sauce again had no Marsala wine flavor or color to it. My wife comfort the kale salad and it had no big problems. Just mediocre. Overall our experience was poor. They gave us the appetizer for free but this restaurant is an unrefined mess. Don't come here for a special occasion unless you want disappointment. read more

Listen to the locals when they tell you to avoid this place. Service was horrible and food was mediocre, at best. They were understaffed and I wish they had just turned us away rather than seating us and putting us through an hour and a half of being ignored or yelled at. Waited over 15 minutes to order drinks, then were served parts of our meal before our appetizer. When we asked about the appetizer the waitress barked at us and said, "We have a big party, so things will just come out when they come out!" Salads were swimming in dressing, food was bland, salmon was clearly frozen and heated up. Overall just gross, bad atmosphere and crabby staff. Talked to some locals later that night and they were like, "oh yeah, we totally avoid that place." Wish we'd known that before going! Won't be back! read more

Really love this place! Visited daughter from Southern California and stayed next door at the adorable Niwot Inn. I am always impressed and grateful when a restaurant is willing to customize a meal with no gluten and dairy. I ordered the Chicken Marsala this way and it was soooo tasty! My party got the pizza, lasagna, soup, and pasta with meat sauce. All delectable! My only small complaint is that they were out of artichoke asparagus ravioli and lobster ravioli that my kids were dying for. That's a bit of a bummer because I'm sure those are what people come for. Excellent service. Server was very knowledgeable and sweet. Highly recommend and will return. read more

It took an hour for the waiter to bring inedible eggplant parm that was so chewy, I couldn't eat it. I wouldn't waste your money here.

We've eaten here a couple of times for dinner and had really good experiences. So today we thought we'd give brunch a try. The main course of niwot omelet and haystack was great- hot and very flavorful when it came out which was close to 30 mins after we ordered it! The "sides" were disappointing - no fresh squeezed orange juice, hard and cold toast and despite it only being 9:45 when we ordered they were already out of scones and down to 2 options on muffins. All of this could be forgiven if they were busy but there was a total of 12 of us there at the time. Having waited so long to get our food ( which was again great apart from the "sides") we were handed the bill before I had even finished eating!! Not sure what was going on today but I left with a very different opinion of Cimminis compared to my previous experiences read more

This is a wonderful family-run place with great food, great service, and wonderful staff. My favorite place in Niwot, when I want a special meal by myself or with visitors. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was not busy and there were lots of staff working. The food was mediocre and the service was awful. Wait staff either ignored us or were unfriendly. The regulars were getting constant attention and we could barely get our waitress to bring water or coffee. I had to stand up and walk toward wait staff (who were standing around chit chatting with each other or their regular customers) every time we needed something. Even the manager didn't care. We attempted to eat dinner at this restaurant last night. We had reservations and arrived at about 6:40. We were seated and ordered drinks. The waitress wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to be interested in waiting on us. After waiting quite a while she finally came over to take our order. We waited and waited and waited. I was without anything to drink for at least 30 minutes. It became pretty obvious by 8:00 that our food wasn't coming. We saw other tables that were experiencing the same issues. We ended up leaving and going next door to Niwot Pizza where we had the most wonderful calzones. Skip this restaurant and go to Niwot Pizza instead! read more

The service was good, but they were very short staffed and we felt bad for the hard working young men who were hosts, servers and bar tenders. The menu is limited & very odd that they offer more for breakfast than dinner. Not "real" Italian food, very American. The mixed veggies were straight out of a frozen bag and my husband's pizza had a soggy, uncooked crust. Wonderful little Italian restaurant in Niwot. We nearly walked past, then decided to go in for a quick bite before going to a local outdoor concert. It's charming on the outside, and equally charming - even elegant - on the inside. Our experience at Cimmini's was nothing but positive. We were allowed to select our seating location, the service was rapid and attentive, and the food was awesome! My wife is of Italian descent and has strong opinions about what constitutes good Italian food. Cimmini's served good Italian food. The sausage is perfectly spiced and the grind size was such to give the sausage a great texture. The minestrone was powerful and delicious. Our waiter tried to take the "empty" bowl a couple times, but we had to order a garlic bread to sop up every remaining drop. The cheesy garlic bread was hot, steamy, light, and airy with a great crispy crunch to the edges. As we took bites from each other's plate settings, we created a web of mozzarella strings that criss-crossed the table as the mozz was of great quality. The arugula and pear salad was a great sweet compliment to the meal. This place is a gem. We hope to try their Sat/Sun breakfast menu before we leave town. read more

I have been to Cimmini's many times and have always had a wonderful time. Their brunch is a particular favorite of ours! Also, the biscotti and any pastries are incredible. We have also had various pizza and pasta dishes there and loved it. Great ambiance, and we love interacting with Kelsey (the owner). Kelsey goes above and beyond in every aspect she's involved in. Such a wonderful restaurant and fits perfectly into the small town, neighborly feel of Niwot. read more
