Pasta Porcini Mushroom, Porcini Lasagna, Pasta Pesto
    Tiffany M.

Would I come back? Probably not. Porcini lasagna was so good, but don't think I would make the trip especially for the price and the difficult parking. The pappardelle texture was also good, but the mushroom sauce was bland. Pesto tagliatelle was sad. Better places to spend $70

I've always wanted to try Pasta Sisters but hate driving to LA so I was so glad to find this location in Costa Mesa! You have to do takeout, it's located in a ghost kitchen with a bunch of other restaurants. Theres kiosks to order inside but I would order directly through the website so you don't have to wait. It took about 15 minutes and came out to be a little over $20. I thought it was a bit pricy but then I tried it and it was totally worth the price! I love pesto and this was definitely one of my top favorites - super creamy and they gave a generous amount of sauce. It was a decent portion of pasta and you could tell it was fresh and made in house! Definitely worth the hype. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice plastic container over the flimsy paper ones! Lots of door dashers and uber eats going in out, would definitely check out the other restaurants in there. Workers were super kind and there's even someone in the parking lot guiding traffic. What a great hidden gem!

I fell in love with Pasta Sister when I visited their location on Pico. Pastas were amazing as was the lasagna. I then tried their other LA location and was a fan so when I heard there was one in OC I had to give it a try. So the OC location is nothing like the LA locations.. it's located inside the Costa Mesa Kitchen, it's solely pick up. If you don't place the order on their website when you get to the location there are a bunch of restaurants and you place an order on a kiosk. You never actually get to see the Pasta Sister booth as it's upstairs. It's like a food court but not, as there's no seating. I tried the porchini mushroom pasta.. tbh, I wanted to love it, but was a bit disappointed. It tasted like a can of mushroom soup on pasta. I wish I had a side or parm to put on the pasta, but no such luck. Maybe I need to try something different or just stick to the LA locations. I will add parking is a pain here. There is a small lot and getting out is a bit scary on the weekends with Newport Blvd sooo busy. All in all I'm on the fence as to whether I'd try this place again

I've heard rave reviews about Pasta Sisters for YEARS, but never make it into Los Angeles. I was so excited to see Pasta Sisters available in Costa Mesa. I ordered on DoorDash and thoroughly enjoyed every bite! The Tomato & Basil pasta was light and refreshing for a pasta. You can tell the pasta is handmade with love. The bite to the pasta was excellent. I will definitely order again!

Love that they're finally in OC but I hate that it's to go only. I was stoked when I saw their name pop up. I came immediately but it's in the Costa Mesa kitchens multi kitchen to go spot which I've been avoiding. Well guess I gotta suck it up now because I do love me some pasta sisters.

Ordered spaghetti bolognese, spaghetti arrabbiata, tortellini, and chicken milanese for a family dinner at home -- WOW! We wanted to try a little of everything and the fresh pasta and delicious sauces lived up to my expectations. Also, came with focaccia which was a nice surprise! (Also stayed piping hot which is always a plus when ordering out)

Used to go to Culver City and Korea town locations all the time when we lived in LA. We were so excited when they opened this location. We've now tried this location over 5 times, hoping it would get better and it's really disappointing. Unfortunately, we won't be trying again. Bread - overcooked, stale Salad - overpriced Pasta - overcooked and too salty Lasagna - overcooked

    Lame!!

I was gonna give you a complete 5.0 because your cacio e Pepe was amazing but I'm gonna tell you that the lasagna is the lamest I've ever had and that is one of my favorite. Amazing Cacio e Pepe but the worst lasagna I've ever had. Hopefully you take this in a positive way instead of taking as a negative way I'm only here to help you.

The caramel espresso martini was absolutely perfect--delicious, perfectly sweet, and exactly what I was hoping for. It definitely hit the spot. For dinner, I tried the chef's special: the fettuccine with scallops and mushrooms. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing for me because it was very bland. I ended up adding salt just to bring out some flavor. The scallops themselves were seasoned well and tasted great, and both the scallops and the pasta were cooked perfectly. The sauce had a wonderful, creamy texture--it just lacked flavor. I think it could have benefited from something cheesy, tangy, peppery, or simply a little more seasoning. Even with that, I'm still giving this place five stars because the service was outstanding. They genuinely listened to my feedback about the meal and went above and beyond to make things right, which says a lot about how much they care about their customers. This was my first visit, and I definitely plan on coming back to try one of their signature dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant overall. I just wouldn't recommend the scallop fettuccine based on my experience. Thank you all for making my solo dinner such a pleasant one!

The spaghetti was so so dry not much sauce there. Meatballs taste too much bread mixed in it. That meal was about $26. What pisses me off though, was the grilled Salmon at whooping $32, just salmon and some stingy spinach that came with it!!! What the heck? And it was cooked terribly. Overcooked dried Salmon, was so tasteless, they forgot to season the fish, or is salt too pricey for them to add? For an establishment to charge that kinda price that sucks so badly, the chef needs to go back to culinary school! Anyone could have done this better! One star for good service over the phone, one star for quick assembly. Oh almost forgot that they automatically have the credit card system set to 18%, another scam imo. Most ppl don't catch that, but I did lucky otherwise my bill from $63 would have been $74. So outrageous for them to do that! Scam.

I expected it to be crowded as usual and that parking would be insane. Fortunately, and surprisingly, there was plenty of parking. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a hostess. When I observed the dining area of the restaurant, it was approximately thirty percent full. The bar contained about the same amount of occupants. We waited two minutes and the hostess took us to our table. Once we were seated, our server immediately came to our table to greet us and take our beverage order. When she came back with our waters, we both ordered the parmesean chicken sandwich. Our orders arrived and I realized I made a huge mistake as I didn't read what was included in the sandwich. I don't eat pork and prosciutto is included. I apologized to our server and told her about my error. She said it would not be an issue at all to make me a new sandwich without the prosciutto. Once my sandwich arrived, I dove in, and it was good! I wish the chicken was a little meatier and juicy, though. I also didn't really taste too much of the mozzarella and provolone. I love that melted cheese you get with the bite, but it sort of was lacking. The sauces were prevalent and tasty. It wasn't the best I've had, but still good, nonetheless. I had a side of salad and it was just a regular mixed green salad. The service was fantastic! Our server was extremely attentive and friendly. I didn't catch her name, but she had her long, blondish-brown hair in a ponytail braid. I love the ambiance with how open, bright, and airy it feels. Here's the breakdown: Food - 4/5 Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 I would definitely recommend this place for drinks and appetizers with a really nice ambiance and great service!

Sausage was perfectly firm and full of flavor, the sauce has pork and beef drippings from the meatballs made prior in the day...so full of flavor & deep in color that can only come from slow cooking. Our server asks if I preferred wine & a little chili in the sauce (heck yeah!) & the result was subtle & perfectly & robustly flavored. Left a nice soft warmth in my throat after each bite. My hubby ordered garlic bread, & it was buttery with spot on garlic & toasted to a nice crispness. We split the pasta entree and I had one sausage & he had two. Honestly the next time we go, I'll have my own. Not because the portion wasn't ample, because it was; because everything about the dish was perfection to me & so delicious I just don't want to share. It stunk too. We were theorizing that the dough was made with dirty water, but there was also a possibility the serving pan given to us was used unwashed. Honestly wish we were able to send it back, but there was no time for a remake as it took about 30-40 mins for it to come out in the first place. The Caesar is also very, very depressing. The dressing is missing authenticity and tastes so bland and like pure lemon, the croutons are crushed up crumbs, and it was very hard to get through for $20. We left it behind as a group of 4 with full plates. I literally got fast food fries after this to fill the disappointment and void, and I'm a health conscious eater. The only saving grace was the meatballs. They were very good, and sadly the first plate that came out as everything went downhill. Should've known as this was the only dish that stood out to us when we ate here a few years ago. We decided to give it another proper try but it does not live up to the hype at all. Theirs comes with proper dressing, fried capers, freshly grated pecorino, and delicious sourdough croutons made in house.
