My wife and I are fans of the original Pasta Sisters location in Culver City. Their handmade pastas are delicious, and we were excited to try their location on the border of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. The extraordinary thing about the Pasta Sisters is that they offer house made pastas, which guarantees a higher price point, but offers unparalleled texture. The spaghetti has a "bite" that you get from a true "al dente" pasta. Their cheese tortellini were incredibly rich and cheesy, but a touch salty. The drawback of this location is that it's a ghost kitchen. You order it online and the order will be ready for you when you come in to pick it up. The location does not have seating, and you eat it at your own convenience. If you live/work locally, then this can be definitely worth checking out. Because I live out of town, I have to enjoy it either in my car, after a long drive home, or at my wife's office; however, I want to enjoy these $20 pastas in a restaurant, with wine and good company. A ghost kitchen is very different than a restaurant experience. I hope they do choose to bring their restaurant to the OC one day. read more

I ordered online for pickup. They're one of the vendors in Costa Mesa Kitchens (ghost kitchen, so it's takeout only). It was my first time going there, so it's good to know in advance that there are cones set up where you can only enter on Rochester and only exit on Newport (at least that was the case when I went in Oct 2025). Tiny parking lot may be hectic during prime times. There's a touchscreen right inside the front doors where I entered my order info. I then was instructed to check a specific locker right around the corner to pick up my order. My order was ready on time and the food tasted great, but I don't recall the last time I was this upset about the quantity for the price. I ordered four different pasta dishes for an insane $88 as of Oct 2025. The servings were tiny. I probably could've eaten all 4 dishes myself and not even felt sick from overeating. I'll boldly state that if you're an average adult, you will not even be remotely full from one of their offerings. To charge that much for providing so little is criminal. read more

Was really excited to try this place! I've heard a lot of people talk about Pasta Sisters. I really really wanted to like my meal more, but it unfortunately fell a little flat. I think we maybe need to try it out one more time! We ordered the Porcini Mushroom (on Tagliatelle) and the Bolognese (on Pappardelle). Both dishes had good flavor, but felt pretty underseasoned. I felt like both pastas needed more salt. The Porcini Mushroom had really great mushroom flavor, but that was kind of it. Between the two, we preferred the Bolognese a bit more because it had more flavor and was a bit more interesting (and had a bit more salt too). The pasta itself was nice, but I wish it was more al dente and had more of a chew. My favorite thing that we got was the side of Focaccia Bread. It had such a nice flavor!! So addicting and really great bread. I really really enjoyed the bread. Not what I was expecting, but I hope to give this place another shot in the future and update my review :) read more

I've always wanted to try Pasta Sisters but hate driving to LA so I was so glad to find this location in Costa Mesa! You have to do takeout, it's located in a ghost kitchen with a bunch of other restaurants. Theres kiosks to order inside but I would order directly through the website so you don't have to wait. It took about 15 minutes and came out to be a little over $20. I thought it was a bit pricy but then I tried it and it was totally worth the price! I love pesto and this was definitely one of my top favorites - super creamy and they gave a generous amount of sauce. It was a decent portion of pasta and you could tell it was fresh and made in house! Definitely worth the hype. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice plastic container over the flimsy paper ones! Lots of door dashers and uber eats going in out, would definitely check out the other restaurants in there. Workers were super kind and there's even someone in the parking lot guiding traffic. I fell in love with Pasta Sister when I visited their location on Pico. Pastas were amazing as was the lasagna. I then tried their other LA location and was a fan so when I heard there was one in OC I had to give it a try. So the OC location is nothing like the LA locations.. it's located inside the Costa Mesa Kitchen, it's solely pick up. If you don't place the order on their website when you get to the location there are a bunch of restaurants and you place an order on a kiosk. You never actually get to see the Pasta Sister booth as it's upstairs. It's like a food court but not, as there's no seating. I tried the porchini mushroom pasta.. tbh, I wanted to love it, but was a bit disappointed. It tasted like a can of mushroom soup on pasta. I wish I had a side or parm to put on the pasta, but no such luck. Maybe I need to try something different or just stick to the LA locations. I will add parking is a pain here. There is a small lot and getting out is a bit scary on the weekends with Newport Blvd sooo busy. All in all I'm on the fence as to whether I'd try this place again read more

So this is part of a take out complex in Costa Mesa. There is zero sit down options. Think even lesser than a mall food court. Eventually this is like going to an Amazon pick up location to grab your order to leave. That said I have ordered 2 dishes here and they were alright but they don't compare to the pasta sisters in culver city. Essentially this is a ghost kitchen with cooks in back who've been trained to cook a small subset of the pasta sisters menu. So if you want to try it great but if you want the real deal go to culver city. read more

i LOVE pasta sisters and when i was told there was a ghost kitchen in costa mesa I freaked out. Sure its not a sit down but if I can still access Pasta Sisters without sitting in LA traffic, that's a win for me. You can order online through doordash uber eats or grubhub i believe. The menu is a bit more limited than their actual location. I went with the classic bolognase, pesto, and a lasgna. It took about 25 min for the food to be ready to be picked up. Pick up process is easy. Just walk to the front and tell them your name and code. Here's where I have to drop a star... taste wise, i still think the actual location tastes better. But also I walked out to my car, couldnt wait to eat and then noticed I was missing my lasagna. Fortuantely I was ahungry mess and did not make it home yet because I would have been out a lasagna. I went into the front again and they checked the back and told me that their oven was down so theres no more lasagna. But if that was the case of an oven down... I would assume you would want to take it down from the ordering menu or let the patron know post order they're out and comp another way? Again not sure if this was more of a grubhub mistake or Pasta Sisters... either way I was able to get a return on grubhub's end up so sad that I didnt get to have my lasagna. I've heard rave reviews about Pasta Sisters for YEARS, but never make it into Los Angeles. I was so excited to see Pasta Sisters available in Costa Mesa. I ordered on DoorDash and thoroughly enjoyed every bite! The Tomato & Basil pasta was light and refreshing for a pasta. You can tell the pasta is handmade with love. I've always heard of pasta sisters but never got the chance to go to the OG location to try it. I took my friend here after seeing this on social media, and it was fantastic. We both ordered the funghi pasta, and we loved the portion size, the texture of the noodles, and the mushroom flavor that was intense and well balanced. It wasn't an overwhelming pasta at all. For $23, it was very worth it. Just know that when you walk in, there isn't a counter. You'll have to order off the screen inside, and they'll call your name and bring it to you. Ventured over to try this place out, great find. Located in the Costa Mesa Kitchen building. Oreder at the kiosk and food comes out from one of the many food selection spots inside. Parking is a booger so plan to have a lil time to look, or delivery as looked like what many people had going on. I saw a lot of huge orders going out. I went with simple meat lasagna and was an excellent choice. Packed well, still warm back at the office. Good size portions and very tasty. I saw this place, the Costa Mesa location, on social media and decided to give it a try. I love good Italian food. You can only order online. Prices are about 10% higher than menu prices. I called and they told me online ordering only. Parking was an S-show. Then you walk into a food court and there is no signage at all. I had to ask another vendor. About 7 people standing around waiting for their orders and nobody behind the counter. After almost 10 minutes a guy comes out and tells someone their order is not ready. People start shouting out their names in hope of getting their orders. I was a lucky one and mine was ready. The food was OK. Not a lot of flavor. For this price I could just about have it in a decent sit down place. Won't be back. Terrible experience on just about every level read more

My LA fave is finally in OC woo!! This is my go to for an easy delicious Italian take out night! My husband and I got the Porcini mushroom, Bolognese, and Tomato & Basil, some bread and a Tiramisu. Portion sizes are really good so we have lots of leftovers. My fave is the porcini- it's so creamy and yummy and the perfect amount of sauce, my husband loves the Bolognese and tomato basil is a super solid classic spaghetti. The bread came with 4 pieces which was a pleasant surprise! Tiramisu was so moist and delish and I love that they put the chocolate powder on the side so you can sprinkle it on fresh when you're ready for dessert! The food was okay, but my order wasn't quite right. I had asked for mixed vegetables but received just broccoli instead, which was not what I wanted. I didn't check before leaving because I usually trust restaurants to get it right, so I was pretty perturbed when I got home. The Chicken Milanese was decent--good flavor but a bit on the dry side. The ordering experience was also a bit confusing. I didn't realize this was a ghost kitchen, so when I walked in, I wasn't sure where to go. The lady at the front was helpful once I asked, but initially, I got some awkward stares from employees, which made me feel a little out of place. The whole setup, with empty restaurant slots, gave off an eerie vibe. Parking is definitely an issue. There was someone directing cars, which tells me it's a known problem. I was super excited to see Pasta Sisters available near irvine! I'm a big fan of the Worth It series on BuzzFeed and remembered Pasta Sisters being the "Worth It" winner for the pasta section, however I'm sure that this location is NOT an accurate representation of the actual Pasta Sisters. I believe this is a to-go spot only and I feel as though the pasta being served are just made-to-go frozen pasta from the original chain. The taste was very offputting. I order the Pasta Mushroom Porcini with Tagliatelle noodles and the sauce was too salty. The mushrooms were so soft that they fell apart in the mouth, and for the mouth feel of the pasta and sauce, it felt as if I ate pasta made with okra secretion. I wasn't a big fan, the only redeeming factor was the lackluster tiramisu which helped reset my tastebuds after having such mediocre pasta. read more

No seating area but there is a park down the street if you need a spot to eat. Ordered three cheese Gnocchi with side of chicken and broccoli. Nothing spectacular. Plenty of sauce, broccoli is charred but cooked just right - chicken was flavorless and a little chewy (kind of grossed me out). I think eating out of to go containers looses the potential.
