    Free Range Chicken Wings
    Daniel B.

Huge fan of this place. We tried the fennel sausage pizza, mushroom pizza, and the free range chicken wings. They use sourdough for the pizza and that immediate caught my attention for the uniqueness. That, and the fact there's a line outside almost every day. The pizzas are also large at 14 inches and are cut at six pieces each. The wings had an immediate strong smell from the Italian fish sauce but they were amazing. We ended up devouring everything. The place itself is rather small but there's plenty of seating, especially outside. The server was also very kind and attentive and helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommend getting a reservation in advance or else you'll be waiting for a while. When we arrived in time for our reservation, we got sat almost immediately. Also, parking is extremely tricky in this area so either arrive early go to valet to make it easy. After eating, it's fun to walk around the area to see the stores and breweries.

Good BUT so salty !! Idk if it was just the day we went. The chicken wings is coated in a yummy fish sauce but it was pretty salty. The pizza has a really good crust. Not sure if it was the pepperoni or the cheese but it was also very salty . Very busy on a Saturday afternoon so we opted to do take out! Took about 30 mins.

Service was great - had a very helpful server who recommended some delicious pizza! The ranch was fire, and definitely get the Caesar. Will be back for more food. Ambiance is part sports with a chiller upscale vibe. There's writing on the cabin wall, overall a great spot

There was a lot of hype from friends about Folks, and I'm happy to announce that I was not disappointed. The do a family style and everything is big enough to share. Everything we ate was fantastic and I especially loved their version of a Caesar salad! Our server was absolutely wonderful too. He was working large parties inside and out and was still getting everything to us in a timely manner and even gave our friend a complimentary birthday dessert. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Rating: 8.5/10 Second time at Folk's Pizzeria and it does not disappoint. Caesar Salad had big portions with crisp, fresh leaves and anchovies on top. Only knock is it could've used a bit more Caesar dressing, but other than that it was great. Fish sauce chicken wings were very pungent and tasty. Great choice for appetizer while waiting for your pies. Salami Cups Pizza was my favorite of the night. Salami crisps up perfectly, giving that salty bite in every slice. Crust is crispy, fresh, and made to order. This is the one to get. Truffle Fungi Pizza had really good flavor, but definitely on the heavier side. It was great for a couple slices, but hard to keep going after that. Pizzas took about ~30 minutes to come out, but quality made it worth the wait. One of the better pizza spots in OC!

Thank god we had a reservation because the restaurant was small! Definitely could be a long wait if you go on the weekend. I went with my friends and got two pizzas to share: Fennel Sausage and Soppressata. My favorite was definitely the sausage because of how flavorful it was! Not sure what they put in the crust, but I had a sauce on the side I used to dip it.. phenomenal. The salad was a nice, refreshing touch to this entire thing. I can't wait for an excuse to come back!

Friends had treated me with this incredible pizza experience. The pizza bread can be made with sour dough and wow what an incredible difference that makes. The pizza is quite crunchy and thin which is one of my favorite kind of pizza. I only take out one star because the restaurant took longer to make the pizza than expected. My friends had ordered takeout at a particular time and it took 30 min longer than what was originally promised. The ingredients of the food are noticeably fresh. I get the sense that this is elevated pizza hahaha The salad was crunchy and adds the nice balance to the pizza God bless you all+

Sausage pizza: 8/10. Salty with a crunchy bite and a soft chew. I paid an extra $1.50 for their home made ranch, but would skip out on it next time. It was definitely more muted and buttermilky than herby and tangy. Cesar Salad: 6/10. Would skip out on this nect time. The dressing was a bit too sour for my taste, but if that's something you like-- its for you! Unfortunately, it took about an hour and a half for our pizza to come out. So it's losing a star for slower service.

We ate here for the first time and I was really excited for the sourdough crust. It was dry and we asked for ranch. Salad was unique but not my idea of a Cesar salad. It's pretty but had a lot of seasoning that's not needed. Wings were flavorful and both sweet and spicy. Ordered the mushroom pizza which had a lot of mushroom and flavor. The crust was just dry. To top it off a homeless guy sat right by us on a ledge near the hammock. He kept falling asleep and slouched over. It made my son very uncomfortable. Staff just walked by like it was no big deal. No security. I get we have to live with homeless people. I would have given him my pizza if he was not staring at me while I'm eating. I spent $94 and won't be back.

Hands down one of the best pizza spots I've been to. Definitely recommend making a reservation, we came in on a Sunday afternoon without one and the wait was about 45 minutes. The place was bustling, but honestly so worth it. The space itself is simple with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service was great considering how busy it was. The host was so sweet, and the servers and bussers were all working hard to keep everything running smoothly. We ordered the Caesar salad, wings, and pepperoni pizza and everything hit, fresh, flavorful, and just done right!! Already planning my next visit... this one's definitely going on repeat!

My first time here and I always see this place packed when i come to the camp so i really wanted to give it a try, We ordered the pepperoni pizza and fries. The fries were good but nothing too special i liked the crust on this pizza a lot but overall it was definitely too salty for me. i think i would give this place more of a 3.5 star but the vibes were nice

Reservations highly recommended! Walk-ins can take up to 1.5 hours depending on the day. Parking: Located at The Camp and parking can be a little difficult because it's a busy plaza. Writing this review after a few visits and I can say that Folk's pizza is amazing! A little pricey with all the add ons but you really get what you're paying for. No complaints on the quality. FOOD - Caesar Salad 5/5 - Free Range Chicken Wings 5/5 - Some of my favorite chicken wings. The Italian fish sauce really gives it that extra umph of umami. Wings were very crispy without tasting overly fried. - Pizza (Fennel Sausage & Pepperoni) 4.5/5: I added mushrooms, roasted garlic, and calabrian chilies. Bomb! Dough was baked just right. Pizza tasted light and the sauce wasn't too overpowering. My only complaint is that I'm not a big crust fan and their pizza slices were basically half crust. I felt it was a little unproportionate to each bite but nevertheless it's one of the best pizzas in OC.

    Soppressata Pizza
    Angela Y.

This is one of my top 3 pizzerias in the country. The hype is so real We started with the meatballs. They're made with pork so they taste more like Italian sausages than traditional meatballs. Love the slight sweetness. The soppressata pizza was perfectly executed. No notes. It looked bulky at first but I was surprised by how light and airy it was once I bit into it. All the components were flavorful, even the dough itself. We ended with the cheesecake. It was delicious and came with a huge chunk of caramel. Took us 3 days to finish because it was kinda heavy. Make sure you make a reservation because it was full house on a Friday around 6pm.

Is this considered to be Neapolitan pizza, or it's slightly different in some way? I noticed that the Folks website does not mention Neapolitan, so I think it must not be fully Neapolitan, but it does look like it.

Favorite fine dining / Michelin-star restaurant in OC! Can't say enough great things about it!…read more A super intimate, upscale-casual (smart casual vibes with no enforced dress code) restaurant located in the third-floor penthouse of SCP. The space feels intimate because it's on the smaller side, and they thoughtfully stagger reservations so the dining room never feels overcrowded. You can be seated in the main dining room, on the outdoor patio, or on the indoor patio next to the penthouse shops. I come here at least once a year for my birthday because the staff are genuinely warm and make every guest feel special. They clearly care deeply about hospitality and creating a true culinary experience. Honestly, the entire team is top-notch, but on our most recent visit, Kara took especially great care of us. She remembered our preferences, made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed without needing to ask, and made my birthday feel special while also giving my husband and me space (I dislike when wait staff at smaller restaurants hover - they don't do that at all). The way the staff serves, takes orders, clears, etc. is like a really well-rehearsed dance - they want everything to be paced, smooth, and efficient (without feeling forced or robotic) and it really makes a difference. The food is delicious and beautifully presented, with thoughtful attention put into every detail of the flavor profile and color palette. They NEVER miss. I love how they refresh the menu a few times during the year to showcase seasonal ingredients while still staying true to the restaurant's overall identity. They also have a selection of dining experiences - I always go for the 3 course prefix during lunch and the portion sizes and timing of each course is perfect. Also highly recommend their afternoon tea on Saturdays. Couldn't find a more luxurious afternoon tea experience in OC! I genuinely hope they continue to do well! It's a pleasure to be a guest and feel pampered for a special day or an elevated casual meal with friends/family. Will be back many times in the future!

Definitely will be back for the dessert at least... and maybe the tasting menu. Apple (vanilla panna cotta, tatin, earl grey crumble, granny smith: compressed & gelee, green apple sorbet): You gotta come here for dessert. This was phenomenal. The earl grey crumble was delicious and plays well with the sweet tartness of the granny smiths. I'd say the component that felt out of place was the compressed pieces; they tasted like an fresh apple version of tandra which was too sweet and the layers meshed together. Main diver scallops (cauliflower, romanesco, capers, lemon confit, crostini): The scallops were so juicy and perfectly seared on the top. The cauliflowers were good but lackluster. The server told me there's cauliflower puree on the bottom which was yummy. Lemon confit who? There was an essence of lemon but nothing very present. Crostini was essentially like mini plain croutons. Wild Alaskan halibut (braised & fermented fennel, castelvetrano olives, preserved lemon): Only tried a bite of the fish and fennel. The fish was very nicely cooked and the crust on top was delightful. The fennel was sour due to fermentation but I didn't particularly enjoy it.

Service was also lacking -- our server didn't course the meal properly, which made the pacing feel rushed and awkward. The biggest issue, though, was the food. The Cajun ribeye was honestly one of the worst steaks I've had. The quality of the meat was far below what you'd expect from a steakhouse at this price point, and it was completely flavorless. The broccolini was drenched in chili oil to the point we couldn't eat it, and the au gratin potatoes were undercooked. We also ordered the sundae, which requires 20 minutes advance notice. Unfortunately, it ended up being mostly whipped cream and not worth the wait at all. Had we known how poor the entrees would be, we would have skipped dessert entirely. Overall, a seriously disappointing

On top of that the menu changes every couple of months, which for me is nice because every time I come here I experience something a little different. Do keep in mind this particular location I've been here enough now that I notice some patterns. there's going to be a seasonal fish that is featured. There's also going to be some kind of stuffed mushroom which I like because I like mushrooms. They always have scallops which are always cooked to perfection. I often order that added on to the entree. There will be at least one steak dish and a chicken and a pork dish. they always feature on the appetizers the lump crab cake. it is what it sounds like, a large lump of crab that is breaded. To me it's not a true crab cake but rather a lump of fresh crab that's breaded and fried. It's ok if you're in to that. The one dish I was curious enough to try today was their Kona crusted lamb loin. I don't usually order lamb unless it's an Indian or middle eastern restaurant. I like lamb but it's not exactly something I crave. so how they explained it was that the Kona was basically using coffee grounds as a dry rub on the meat. So I got curious and ordered it. The grounds basically add a slightly different texture and adds a slight bitterness. Sort of like char from a grill. It was ok and interesting but what stood out the most was the fact that the meat was so perfectly cooked and so flavorful and tender that it overpowered whatever the grounds added to the meat. so I would recommend this solely on the basis of how perfectly tender and flavorful the meat was.
