Life is full of pasta-bilities! Let's sauce things up. A home where Italy meet a sports bar. Is the Ambience. But the food portion is amore-zing. A regular slice of pizza feeds two people easily. Ciao down on that. The service was good even got a little bit of a history lesson about the establishment. Pasta La vista baby.

We found this place for GIANT pizzas for my daughter's birthday. Today, we came to eat here.

28# party pizza cut into 49 slices with multiple toppings.

I've lived in Newport Beach for 25 years and just discovered Pizza D'Oro through a Google search I did for a place that specialized in Large Party Pizzas and catering size salads. AI recommended Pizza D'Oro as my best option. And boy did they get that right. The 28" Pizza is the biggest sheet style Pizza I have ever seen. But not only is it big, they somehow manage to deliver a terrific crust despite the size and very generous toppings. I ordered 3 28" inch pizzas with various toppings, and two half pans of their catering salads. This fed 50 people at a wonderful Baby Shower, with plenty of leftovers to send home with special guests! The whole process was very professional. I contacted Philip, the owner/founder's son, on the special catering line. He helped me develop an order based on my party size and wants. We arranged an exact pickup time so the pizzas were piping hot. Everything went smoothly. Our guests raved over the food. Great food at a great value. Thank you Philip and team! You helped make the party a great success. I highly recommend.

Just dined in here for the first time and man oh man this place only gets better!! When picking up I always notice the inside is pretty packed and the food always looks so great so we decided let's go eat there. We decided to skip pizza and take advantage of the chicken parm deal and a rigatoni dish and these were incredible. The portion of the chicken parm was insane we packed it up to go home with us. The cutlet was juicy, crispy, covered in cheese and sauce, the spaghetti was perfect with a nice tasty meat sauce. The salad to start was also perfect I must add. The sausage and rigatoni dish my wife got was great she had the garlic red sauce and it had such a good kick! The staff is so friendly and the happy hour was great. I really can't believe the daily deals this place puts out it is such a gem!!

This is another neighborhood, Jim I absolutely love and adore. The nightly specials are amazing. Something for everyone. Always super tasty. Their giant pizza by the slice is like getting a small pizza. I enjoy every bite of it! It's small and cozy, but always inviting. The team is always friendly and helpful when I come in the door to pick up my order.

I cannot believe how delicious the pizzas are. I'm not even a pizza fan but we came here with the group, I tried the giant slice vegetarian pizza and my friends pepperoni giant Slice Pizza. I love how the toppings was extremely generous and the pizza crust was crispy and not too thick and doughy like most Pizza places. I was barely able to finish a third of my giant Slice Pizza which was double the size of my hand. The value for the money was incredible. The food was extremely fresh and made to order. Highly recommend trying this place if you are having a pizza craving. You will be very happy.

All you can eat Lasagna with a side of spaghetti, (salad and garlic bread not shown)

Outstanding value and comfort food at its best. I ordered the Sunday special lasagna for $14.50, which came with a side of spaghetti, a dinner salad, and garlic bread, and it absolutely exceeded expectations. The lasagna was rich, hearty, and clearly homemade, the spaghetti was perfectly cooked with great sauce, the salad was fresh, and the garlic bread was warm and flavorful. What really stood out was the portion size. This meal easily lasted me three meals, which is almost unheard of at this price point. Quality, quantity, and value all hit the mark. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend this Sunday special to anyone looking for a satisfying Italian meal.

Chicken Parm with Penne- diablo sauce.

Solid little spot- mom and pop Italian place with the red and white checkered tables--super cute! We sat in a small booth and it felt cozy, kind of date night vibes, but also a place you could easily bring the kids. Pretty mixed crowd, very chill environment. We got the chicken parm with penne and asked for the spicy diablo sauce instead of marinara--definitely a good choice since we like a little kick. Big portions, everything tasted fresh, and the chicken was nice and crispy under all that sauce and cheese. The garlic toast and salad were simple but good, and the meatballs were actually really solid. Came out to about $44 with tax and tip, which felt more than fair for how much food we got. Nothing fancy, just really good, comforting Italian food and a spot that feels easy to come back to.

    Is the restaurant noisy? Thanks?

It's nice you great place to go not to noisy

Is this restaurant associated with Nicks Pizza D'Oro (now renamed something else)?

Yes, but they are all separately owned by nicks kids.

    How is the pasta?

    The fettuccine Alfredo is delicious

Do they have gluten free pasta?

They have a gluten-free pizza it is a size between small and medium. But they don't have gluten free pasta or anything else it's just the one pizza. But it's so amazing that it'll blow you away it's delicious we've been eating there for about three…

Do they have vodka sauce? I'm not seeing it on the menu & that is usually an Italian favorite....

I do not know the answer to that question all I know is pizza D'Oro is awesome. Great food very friendly atmosphere cozy

What time do you close? Tonight I went by to have dinner at 9:22p. You were already closed. Two workers were in there. Sad, you were one of favorites.

They supposedly close at 10 during the week and 11 on Friday and sat.

I've ordered delivery and pick up, and both times the food has been ready within 20 minutes and been PIPING hot when I get it. The quality is just as good as the sit down restaurant in Culver City. This location does provide French bread rather than the focaccia the Culver City location provides, which I dearly miss, but other than that the menu does not feel limited at all. I've tried several signature sauces as well as a couple of the specials, and nothing has disappointed. Always a great experience eating at Pasta Sisters!

Their handmade…read morepastas are delicious, and we were excited to try their location on the border of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. The extraordinary thing about the Pasta Sisters is that they offer house made pastas, which guarantees a higher price point, but offers unparalleled texture. The spaghetti has a "bite" that you get from a true "al dente" pasta. Their cheese tortellini were incredibly rich and cheesy, but a touch salty. The drawback of this location is that it's a ghost kitchen. You order it online and the order will be ready for you when you come in to pick it up. The location does not have seating, and you eat it at your own convenience. If you live/work locally, then this can be definitely worth checking out. Because I live out of town, I have to enjoy it either in my car, after a long drive home, or at my wife's office; however, I want to enjoy these $20 pastas in a restaurant, with wine and good company. A ghost kitchen is very different than a restaurant experience. I hope they do choose to bring their restaurant to the OC one day.

This is truly a neighborhood spot wedged in between a Wax Salon and a Laundromat…read more You can remove your slacks and have a wax then eat hearty food that's hard to beat and finally launder your Marinara'ed Versace Raw Silk shirt, not that this is a place to wear such a thing. Think of this as a full service night out. Caveat: I got caught in the OC Fair traffic which wasn't fair at all. Once I Wazed to the parking lot I walked in and a Staffer measured my level of angst and suggested I take deep breaths while he lead me to my table in a small cozy dining room. The Decor: An enlarged map of the Autostrada where you can go really fast while dining really slow. Thankfully, there was no blaring loop of Dean Martin telling you what happens when the Moon hits your eye like a big Pizza Pie. Water and wine are offered as soon as you've made your nest. Settle in as the frenetic rush remains outside. You're on Italian time here. This family owned place emphasizes enjoying a leisurely lovely meal of dishes you'll recognize. Filomena's is an O. G. style Red Checkered Table Cloth restaurant with no table cloths. Why should the owners pay for endless laundry even if it is next door. So, when you splash Sunday Gravy (Marinara with meat and plenty of meat drippings) that will never come out of your fancy scoop neck blouse no matter what you try and how much you cry. So, come as casual as you can without being indecent. Who're dining with you? Regulars and those who haven't been regular in years. The Staff: Efficient. My guy took my table's order before going to handle the Girls Night Out party of 22 in the private dining room. "If we don't put your order in now the kitchen will get slammed and you'll wait half an hour for your appetizers and then write a crappy review". The Food: There is an ambitious menu here featuring all things an Italian family would enjoy. In fact, any family would enjoy the classics served here. The large menu offers the usual suspects. All the pasta is house made along with all the Sauces, albeit, most of the Sauces are laced with Cream. Go ahead, show your arteries who's really runnin' the show. The Calamari Fritti was a solid choice. A good sized pile of hands, feet and rings served with Lemon Wedges for the purists and a cup of slightly spicy thick Marinara. The Calamari kept is crackling crispy crunch from the first tubular slice to the last tentacle that reached out. Often Calamari Fritti is good for two bites before it turns into a soggy sponge. Not here as the fry cook knows how to make this just right every night. The added plus is that the portions are heroic and suitable for any Roman Centurion. The Pappardelle with Bolognese consisted of long wide nicely cooked flat noodles with a serious pour of meaty Ragu over the whole works. If you're a giver, there is enough to share with two others. The Wedding Soup came in a bowl you could bathe a German Shepherd in. It began with Carrots, Celery and Onions, floating in a Consomme along with a handful of small light Meat Balls. Forget the wedding night, and just order a second bowl of Soup. The Garlic Bread that came with the Soup was nothing to write home or you about, for that matter. The Bread is outsourced and best for mopping anything you've eaten before the busser shows up to collect the plates. The Linguini Vongole featured Manila Clams in the shell and lots of Clam bits. The Linguini was perfectly cooked and stood up well to the the pleasant Clam chew. This version is what Clam Pasta can be and most often falls short of the mark. The Chicken Parmesan was a Breast pounded thin, breaded, fried and then buried under a chunky Maranara Sauce with a layer of melted Mozz as thick as your favorite flannel shirt. The whole thing was the size of a hub cap. At Filomena's you'll eat like battalions of Italians. I'll be back and I Filomean it.
