We finally were able to try this place. And we were "palate" happy! :) They didn't disappoint. We ordered: The Godfather- which was so good. The pasta was perfectly al dente. I enjoyed the filet mignon with the mushrooms! A delight in my mouth. Will order that again Wave maker: this was a bolognese. This was good. It was indicated that it had chili oil and I assumed there was some spice. However, there was a let down for me here. However, I am not upset about it. but don't expect heat. The noodles were the fuscili. Loved them. Overall this places was delicious. The service was fast and efficient. Highly recommend to everyone! The only issue is I did a custom pasta bowl and added mushrooms, roasted garlic and pistachio and I got the red sauce but they forgot all my toppings :( at first I noticed only the mushrooms weren't added and they gladly gave me a side of the mushrooms so I added them but then later I realized there was also no pistachio or roasted garlic added either :( I wouldn't complain bc if I hadn't paid $3 extra for EACH of those toppings that weren't added, ugh! Not fair I will try calling or talking to them about this. Cozy and dope wallpaper and vibe. So great and open late so it was perfect we stayed until about 9pm. The dishes were all amazing and everyone was raving about it. It got quite busy like an hour after we arrive prob around 7 people were waiting for tables. I am plant based and my friend is also and my other friend is gluten free and they were able to accommodate all of our dietary restrictions! Can't wait to go back. I'm so happy this place opened so close to my home. All the employees were so kind and helpful and answered all our questions. but trying to not let it bother me since they are brand new, only open one week and it was seriously mobbed with customers so they were all running around super busy. Also want to add I didn't place the order on the kiosk I placed it with the host so idk if that's what negatively impacted my order or what. Had our second dinner here and same as the first. Fantastic and so much better than the other local Italian restaurants at a fraction of the cost. One thing that should change is not allowing dog owners to bring their full sized mutts into the restaurant breathing down other customers necks and barking. I'm fairly certain this individual has a home for the dog and if it's too hot in the home, get an AC unit. Don't burden other customers with your dog needs. I didn't take a picture of the owner or the dog but it's obvious this ain't no service dog. read more

I've been on a hunt for cheese wheel pastas and saw this one recently opened up in HB. Located just a block away from the pier, parking can be located on the adjacent structure or on the street. The fast casual restaurant is pretty small so seating is limited both indoor and outdoor. You see the cheese wheel as you order and is a great marketing tactic as you watch them swirl the pasta around in it. I got 2 cheese wheel build your own bowls, 1 with shrimp and extra alfredo sauce, and the other with chicken, capers, and dried tomatoes (all were extra charges). Service took a while since I'm sure everyone ahead also ordered the cheese wheel bowl. Both were delicious and can definitely taste the 24-month aged cheese wheel. read more

A new place in town! Located downtown HB with easy parking right across the street from public parking on 3rd Street. A novel concept with a parmigiana cheese wheel. Really cool to watch the creation of the cheesy infused fresh pasta. Tried the "Pasta Flight" a three pasta sampler with choice of toppings; selected toasted garlic, mushrooms and bolognese meat ragú. Rich and flavorful for sure. Husband selected The Dreamer (Alfredo-Prosciutto) Pasta. The Alfredo sauce was excellent, some of the prosciutto was a bit chewy and fatty. Service was on point, respectful, and service-oriented. Open seating with a large community table. Love the ambiance with a tv screen presenting a live feed of the HB pier. Family friendly, casual dining. This is the newest authentic cheese wheel Italian pasta right on Main Street in Huntington Beach. All their noodles are made in-house with flour imported straight from Italy, and tossed in a giant Parmigiana Reggiano cheese wheel, without using seed oils or additives. Everybody comes for their pasta flight, which you can customize with your own toppings, but I gotta say, the Wavemaker pasta creation completely blows everything else out of the water. It's got twisted fusilli pasta that's cooked in the cheese wheel--of course--with just a touch of spice and meaty Bolognese sauce. It's actually only available at their Huntington Beach location! Their focaccia sandwiches are just as good as their pastas, with fresh focaccia bread they bake daily. And they even have pasta for dessert, like are you kidding?!! I'm impressed, this is the real deal. Fresh pasta, fresh tomatoes, perfect focaccia, and the sodas are top notch. We were greeted with smiles and a welcome from everyone working and the man at the register we very helpful. I got the flight with chicken, meatball, and mushroom as my toppings. The mushrooms were incredibly flavorful, the pomodoro sauce was so fresh and paired perfectly with the meatball, and the pesto was great. This would probably be enough for dinner and lunch the next day but I was really hungry. My teenaged kids both liked their pastas as well: make your own with bolognese, and an alfredo pasta. Such a great addition to Downtown Huntington Beach! Pasta Viva makes their pasta fresh in-house daily and finishes their cheese-wheel pastas in aged Parmigiano Reggiano, but the restaurant itself is casual and approachable. I love being able to get fresh pasta without having to make it a fancy or expensive night out. The Godfather was my favorite--it has filet mignon, mushrooms and roasted garlic with creamy Alfredo, and everything worked so well together. I also really liked the Wavemaker, which is exclusive to the Huntington Beach location. The Bolognese with Calabrian chili and hot honey has a nice sweet/spicy combination and is definitely worth trying. We added a salad for some balance, which was fresh and a nice contrast to the richer pastas. They also have gluten-free and keto pasta options and use EVOO rather than seed oils, which is nice to see. Great location right in Downtown HB near Main and Olive. You found individual things you liked--especially the focaccia--but the overall value, portions, execution, and cheese-wheel experience didn't give you a reason to return. Pasta by Pierre -- Huntington Beach Rating note: 2/5 I saw "pasta in a cheese wheel" and a grand opening, so obviously I was curious and wanted to try it. They advertise pasta starting at $9.99, which sounds great until you realize that's basically the base price. Want to add ingredients? More money. Want different proteins? More money. It started giving me Spirit Airlines vibes lol. You got here for $9.99, but now let's see how many add-ons we can get you for. We asked one of the employees what was special about the Huntington Beach location since they also have an Irvine location. She recommended the Huntington Beach special, so that's what we ordered. Then it came out and we realized it was one of the things that DOESN'T go through the cheese wheel. Could I have read the description more carefully? Sure lol. But also... your exclusive Huntington Beach special doesn't use the cheese wheel you're known for? Make it make sense. Especially when we specifically asked what we should try. So we ordered again because I wasn't leaving a cheese-wheel pasta place without actually trying the cheese wheel. We did a sampler so we could taste a few different combinations. Honestly, everything was pretty mid. The mushrooms tasted like mushrooms. The sun-dried tomatoes were fine. The meatball was really bland, and you only get one. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing tasted special either. The presentation and whole cheese-wheel concept were cooler than the actual pasta. The kiosk wasn't completely set up either, so when I couldn't get the toppings to work, one of the employees was really nice and told me to just tell her what I wanted and she'd take care of it. I'll give them some grace since they had just opened. The best thing I had was actually the focaccia. The bread itself was delicious -- big, soft and flavorful. We got the steak and arugula sandwich, and it had so much potential. Then we opened it up and there was basically one and a half pieces of steak inside this giant sandwich. Come on. For something that big, I shouldn't be hunting around trying to find the meat lol. We almost ordered another steak item, so I'm actually glad we chose different things instead. Maybe I'd come back for that focaccia with a different filling because the bread was genuinely good. But between the add-on pricing, smaller portions, barely any steak and pasta that didn't really stand out, I don't have much reason to come back for the cheese-wheel experience. Cool concept. The food was amazing! I've tried so many cheese wheel pastas that are just too salty or just not good. This one was creamy and perfect. I ordered one that had truffle oil and steak, and the steak was tender and the oil was subtle and not overpowering. The focaccia was soft and crunchy on the bottom, absolute perfection. I was super excited when I saw that they had a location open up here in Huntington Beach because it's much closer than their other locations. We got the Gladiator Bolognese plus meatball pasta plus extra pasta and also the no regrets Alfredo and chicken pasta. I forgot to take a picture of that though honestly it was so good. The service was amazing. I brought my dog who's older and I believe it was the owner that came out with a dog bowl full of water for him. I just thought it was so thoughtful and sweet. This restaurant is new to the neighborhood, and I really wanted to give it a shot--wow, it absolutely blew me away! I ordered "The God Father," and it was incredible. I drove 35 minutes out to try this place, and the entire visit was a frustrating disaster from start to finish. First, communication was completely off. I messaged them on Instagram to double check what time they opened, and they explicitly told me 5:00 PM. When I drove all the way there, they informed me they actually started at 11:00 AM because they had extended their hours. Giving inaccurate information on your own social media is a huge waste of a customer's time. When we finally got inside to order our food for the family, the customer service was horrible it was a young Caucasian female tall with a ponytail. We were a group of individual people wanting to try the pasta, meaning our purchases needed to be done separately. However, the cashier acted completely annoyed and looked like she wanted to ring us all up together anyway. My daughter even noticed the cashier rolling her eyes at me. To top it all off, we ordered pasta for five people, and when I asked for Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, they only gave us two tiny packets of cheese and two red pepper flakes. How is that even enough? It's like they are so stingy with their portions I'm not asking for free food, we bought meals with add ons , but they act like handing out a couple of extra packets of flakes and cheese is a burden. Between the inaccurate hours, the long drive, the rude and dismissive staff, and the stingy service, this whole experience made me never want to come back. Save your time and gas. read more

So excited to have a new quality fast casual restaurant in the neighborhood! My sister and I came in for lunch and shared the pesto chicken pasta and the Parma foccacia. The pasta is fresh Italian pasta and delicious. Love the concept of making all sauces creamy with the cheese wheel...absolutely delicious! Foccacia sandwich was super yummy and very generous portion, shareable for sure. We also ordered their organic root beer soda which was tasty. Food is served in disposable/compost able containers which make take home easy by asking for a lid. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Decor is casual Italian chic with a fun wallpaper mural to set the tone of Italy. I highly recommend. This will definitely be in the mix for our family! read more
