My party of 5 went there Saturday night at the college students request for pasta. We ordered Chicken Florentine, Chicken Caeser salad, linguine with clam sauce, and a Margarita pizza. Side salads came with the pasta. They were okay, but drenched in dressing. The pasta was also way over sauces and heavy, but tasty. My daughter enjoyed the linguine and her friend liked her salad. The Margarita pizza was more of a cheese pizza with slices do tomato and a few springs of basil. Our server had to be asked to refill waters. And the food took a while to come out. My daughter recently moved to Stephenville, and we have made a couple of trips to see her. She's enjoyed taking us out to eat at some of her new favs, and this is 1 of those. We went for a late lunch expecting the lunch crowd would be over. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and were taken immediately to our table. Only a couple of tables were open, and that worked great for us. We ordered cheese bread to start and continued to review the menu. Selections were quite nice, and we all ended up ordering something different (no one ordered pizza, although they looked delicious). I ordered baked tortellini with a side of meatballs. Also, all of our orders came with a choice of soup or salad. Food came pretty fast and was just as we ordered. Food was so hot that it could burn your mouth. However, that didn't stop us from digging in. The food was really tasty and before you could say it, it was gone. We ate so much that we didn't leave any room for dessert. Our waiter was really good. This is a pretty decent Italian restaurant for Stephenville. And I would return; I'd just have to adjust my expectations. First off, the staff are very friendly and courteous. We were greeted and seated swiftly for lunch. Then our server was quick to welcome us and take our drink order. She checked in regularly without being intrusive. The side salads that came with our entrees were simply iceberg lettuce and a couple grape tomatoes. That's fine, but the tomatoes had started to mold. Our entrees were very good, with great flavor and portion size. I would probably knock off at least a half star for missing that their tomatoes are molding. What really gets me are dirty floors. Since we had their pizza a couple of weeks ago, we thought we'd give their dinner menu a shot. My wife ordered the Cheese Ravioli and I got the Sausage Arrabiata. Both servings were beyond adequate in size and the flavor was off the hook! I've never tried my dish anywhere else before, so it was a new taste experience for me. In a word "WOW!" So...I had to make a LONGGGGG drive from McKinney to Stephenville to get a class ring. Worth it (read my review on Swindle's Jewelry) though. But yeah...three hours there almost and after the last failure at Ruby's (again, there's a review) I was hesitant to trust Yelp. But right across from Swindle's was Pastafina, and the reviews looked great. So I went. I got a lunch special. With a drink it was $13.29. Very good deal. The pasta al Forno was delicious. It's just marinara with 4 cheese ravioli that are topped with Alfredo and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. I sent it back once to be reheated but that's a me thing: I need food SUPER hot. My waitress Alyssa was fantastic. The house dressing was tart and tangy and perfect as was the bread. Food came quickly and service was perfect. Is this authentic? Hell no. The pictures of the food are awful! But it tastes really good. Cheaper than Olive Garden and it's not like Stephenville is hopping with foodies. We were out for a day trip from Ft. Worth and found ourselves in Stephenville late afternoon. We stopped in Pastafina because we always like to eat local. We were not disappointed. We had chicken marsala and chicken Florentine. Oh...My....God....sooooo good!!!!! The marsala sauce was fantastic. The combination garlic knots and chicken florentine sauce was perfect. All entrees come with house salad and garlic knots. Service was very attentive and friendly. House salad dressing (tomato vinagrette) was a little like cocktail sauce. More tomatoy than expected but we'd still recomnend it. The food was so good and the portions were so plentiful we had to force ourselves not to eat it all. The place is run by people who understand customer service. We're always greeted at the door, the wait staff is nice and the restaurant always spotlessly clean. The menu is typical for an Italian restaurant, nothing too remarkable but good basic Italian food. The wine list is about as sophisticated as you'd get within 30 miles of Stephenville, and there are good ones to choose from. They make excellent lasagna, spaghetti dishes and so forth; I especially like their eggplant parmigiana. Since my wife is of Italian descent, we'd like them to add some Northern Italian dishes like gnocchi, oso bucco, polenta... but hey, this is Stephenville and we're not complaining! Typically one of my go-to's for some quick Italian food. I really enjoy their lunch specials, because they're a pretty good bargain and are fairly filling. Their service can be hit and miss, but generally speaking we usually get our food in a relatively timely manner although sometimes the wait is terribly long. Additionally, most of the food they bring out is actually pretty good and tasty. Lastly, a notable thing is the customer service. Sometimes it's phenomenal, and we are well taken care of. On the flip side, sometimes it's a terrible experience (like not getting our drinks until our actual food comes out). The food will generally always bring us back, but the inconsistency in service really effects my viewpoints. read more

Came across this place after a football game in Stephenville! Stopped by with my family for a bite, and they were more than welcoming despite being 35 minutes away from closing time. Upon arrival we were greeted very nicely, and seated. Within two minutes Hailey came over and said hello, grabbed our drink orders and brought us bread. The bread comes with some dip options (we went with the oil and garlic, and pink marinara+ alfredo mix, which was delicious!) The food was very enjoyable, and good portion for the price, (you also get a salad or soup!) but what made this experience even better was how great Hailey, and the manager were. The manager not only checked on us, but took time to talk for a few minutes which let me remind you, I appreciated a lot considering they were closing soon!! They did not make us feel rushed at all and we had such great conversation. Ok, I had people telling me that this was authentic Italian food. I was skeptical, but I decided to try it out anyways. First off, someone needs to teach these kids how to serve, and yeas I mean kids, this whole town has college kids working in the establishments, but they have NO customer service skills and that makes for a very unpleasant experience. I was in the restaurant business ever since I was 14 years old, and I worked my way through the ranks and eventually owned my own place which done very well. These waitresses don't even have the very basics down. They are VERY robotic, they looked pissed off and they DONT know how to be a waitress. First off, they grab my glass from the top, which is a waitress 101 rookie mistake. They don't introduce themselves, and they act like they don't even want to be there. Once the food came, the best way that I could describe it was like eating something from the frozen food isle straight out of the microwave. When I told the waitress she just stared at me, and just walked off, didn't even take the food away. I tried my daughters dish, and it wasn't any better. Authentic Italian food, I THINK NOT!!! I reviewed this restaurant a few years ago and rated it four stars. There must have been a change behind the scenes, because quality has slipped. Maybe tonight is off because they had a newbie on the phone. I ordered my favorite to go, a white pizza with anchovies. It took longer than usual, and when I got home, NO ANCHOVIES! The salty little fish are requisite to light up bland ricotta and mozzarella. Like Monty Python's Spam, Spam, eggs and Spam without the Spam: bleagh!!! That coupled with tough crust from overworked dough, and the dining experience this evening is less than satisfactory. I hope tonight is an aberration. As restaurants in Stephenville go, Pastafina rises to the top, but the bar is not too high. That said, I still recommend it for date night if you're footloose, and where to take your spouse for special occasions if you're attached, but prepare for your meal to be "meh." read more
