Never had a bad meal, been going for 20 plus years (all the way from Arlington, FW, Benbrook, and Granbury). We were very sad to see the FW location go. Servers are a hit and miss but food is always great. I had one complaint. They had the apple cobbler still in the menu. Went to order and they said it was no longer available. That was my favorite! Enjoyed another meal at Hoffbrau. For a steakhouse they have good fried catfish and hush puppies. Don't be afraid to try it. The salad is fresh and I like their ranch dressing. Steamed Spinach was cooked just right and the cheese cake was delicious. Red, Brittany or Riley are all great servers and so far have never had bad service. The restaurant is clean and they usually do not let a table set dirty. I've been to Hoffbrau several times and I'm surprised I haven't written a review yet. Each time I went the food was what I wanted and tasted good too. I like their fairly spicy Jalapeno Cheese soup too and have had it most of the times I've been there. I've sat at the bar and in the bar area and in the dining room and service is always been good. I have to admit I have gone a lot of those times on the 11th of the month since they give Veterans half off every 11th and I appreciate that for sure. It's supposed to be just for the Vet and not the wives unless they are Vets too but I have seen one of the managers tell someone to just make the ticket on the house for one older Vet and his wife. this is our go to steakhouse for my wife and I. The food is always fantastic. The service is impeccable. We just love Red, as she is a very thorough waitress. And very thoughtful too. They changed some of the ambience to the restaurant that most people would not even notice that we did. and I think it was for the better. The restaurant teamed up with an app that is nice little discounts for our older people . Well, I guess it's for everybody. I can't remember the name of it, but it's very very good. We go about any time we have another discount that comes in. And we always leave out of there with lots of leftovers. Because we ordered too much. It is so good. The last time we were there I had catfish and it was three big pieces with hush puppies and french fries. It's the first time I've ever tried it and the catfish was delicious. First off construction criticism here ! Our experience had some really good points like steaks were cooked great ( filet & ribeye) and tasted great . Food came quickly almost too quickly but better than the alternative! Our server was fabulous & attentive ! I made reservations but hostess station very chaotic . Other guests expressed to me frustration that I jumped " the line even tho I got a text saying my table was ready . We loved it! This was our very first time going to Hoffbrau Steak and Grill House. We'd tried to get in on a Saturday night around 6pm - that was a bust. This time, we arrived around 5 PM on a Tuesday. Perfect! We were seated right away. Our server was Madeline and she was very charming and helpful. She took our drink and appetizer orders and answered a few menu questions. The drinks came right away and the appetizers soon followed. For appetizers, we ordered: - Candied Bacon (wow - really good) - Smoked Sausage (decent) For our meals, we ordered: - Smoked Sirloin with with Steamed Spinach (very good) - Grilled Pork Chops with Steamed Spinach (real good, could have been more tender and jucier - maybe cooked 5 degrees less) All in all, a great meal. A steak house with a German name seemed confusing to me. After dining there I was confused no more. This place is all about the meat. Prices are pretty standard for a chain steakhouse. Start with the sausage appetizer with the Dr Pepper bbq sauce. Had a 10oz ribeye that was cooked nicely and seasoned well. The baked sweet potato came with cinnamon butter which a nice compliment. There was plenty of parking as we went about 5:00pm. There is inside and outdoor seating available, as well as table, booth, and bar seating available as well. Our server was Julian and she was very polite and attentive to our needs. We'd give the restaurant a 4/5 simply because our proteins were GREAT, but the sides missed the mark on taste (few things tasted reheated and unpleasant). We met some friends tonight at Hoffbrau/Granbury for happy hour and appetizers. Originally we thought it would be four of us, so we asked for a booth. We were seated in Courtney's section, we were promptly waited on and ordered a couple of margaritas. Courtney brought us our margaritas along with some hot bread, water etc. Our friends showed up and we then realized that there would be 8 of us. So, our table for four was obviously not going to work. Courtney, despite just getting us all set up, not only was absolutely cool about it, but she helped us move our stuff and transferred our tab to Gillian, whom was now our waitress at a much larger table. Gillian now had a table of 8 to take care of by herself, in addition to her other customers in her section. We were all ordering drinks, appetizers, and some had main courses. Gillian was totally attentive, promptly got us all our various orders, removed empty plates, kept us all with drinks (without us having to ask) and was exemplary.
