    Cavatelli Trattoria

No flavor. At All. My glass of Prosecco saved the night. It's a hearty proportion but the seasoning is lacking. I would come back and try the chicken parmesiagno. It was the bartenders first choice. It was also about a 20 minute wait for our food on a Saturday night. Meter parking requires change or download an app.

This is a great happy hour spot!!! The food on the happy hour menu is fantastic. I had the Burrata Caprese (forgot the pic) It's loaded with both grape tomatoes & heirlooms and two generous pieces of burrata. I also love the Vinny the Gin from the cocktail menu. Happy hour prices are only available if you sit at the bar, which fills up fast & happy hour ends at 5:30. Bartenders are fantastic, Bobby is a favorite.

    Seafood risotto and octopus. Yum!

We sat at the bar and just missed happy hour (& the deals were amazing!). The service was great, the seafood risotto special was LOADED with seafood and lobster, the octopus was fork tender and the drinks were so good! It was our first visit, but we can't wait to go back.

    Holy cannoli martini

Food and service mediocre at best. Cannoli martini so strong I was not able to drink it. There was some conflict between our server and another customer which got heated in the back of the restaurant with our server and management. Restaurant could use some updating in decor.

    Kale Caesar

The design of the restaurant is modern with hardly any soft surfaces So beware if you have hearing issues, I also wouldn't recommend this to new couples, as it is tough to carry a conversation Our server Kevin was pleasant and respectful he even gave us the history of chicken piccata that was a nice touch The ravioli, kale Caesar, and garlic bread are fantastic What a fun spot!

Delicious food. Yummy mocktails (try the Strawberry Mule). The lasagna was fantastic. Service was excellent; very attentive. We were very pleased with our dinner and we will definitely be making a return trip.

New favorite place to eat! Have been there 4 times in the last week. The food is very good and comes out piping hot. I've had the spaghetti carbonara twice, rigatoni boscaiola and pappardelle bolognese each once. The carbonara and boscaiola are my favorite but all good. The side house salad also very good. Nice bar and comfortable dining room and waitstaff are professionals.

A real NYC vibe. Drinks or drinks and dinner, this place is great for Grosse Pointe. Chef never disappoints. Prices are reasonable.

Here is the lay of the land: Check in at the little red table in the center of the outdoor courtyard if you want "full service". - which means eating and drinking at a table with wait staff. It is not seat yourself at the outdoor tables, like we originally thought. There is a nice sized bar indoors and seating at the bar is first come first served. We ordered several of the small plate "snacks" and I can tell you that the hummus is not to be missed. It is served with (homemade?) tortilla chips that are absolutely addictive. They have lots of choices for wine, beer, and cocktails. Towards the back entrance of the property, there is a drink truck where you can also order "walkaway" food and drinks. Not entirely sure where you sit with the food/drinks you order, as most of the seating seemed reserved for full service. Additionally, there is a photo booth for pics (long line) and Warda Patisserie is right next door and accessible through a garden walkway.

The inside restaurant area is also beautiful. We wanted to sit inside at the bar, so we waited for some seats to open up. If you want to sit outside, all you have to do is order at the bar and they'll serve your drinks in plastic cups for you to take outside. The rhubarb pie punch was so delicious I had to order it twice! Probably one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had. I also ordered the maurixio cattelan, which tasted like ginger ale. For a snack before dinner, we chose to get the burrata and it was so refreshing. The service was great and our bartender was super friendly! The logo with the little lamb is adorable. I bought one of their wine glasses with their logo on it too for just $10.

Our waiter was cool kind and professional. The ambiance is very intimate and upscale casual. The manager was absolutely phenomenal! We saw him walking around talking to different tables including ours. He has great customer service! Now for the food. To share we ordered calamari and firecracker shrimp. Both had great flavor and cooked nicely. The black orchid cocktails were so lovely! We told the waiter to keep the tab open beacuse as soon we finished one, we were ready for another. For entrees I ordered the ribeye with truffle fries while my sister ordered the fish special. My sister said the asparagus had no seasoning but everything else was okay. My ribeye on the other hand was delicious! Cooked perfectly to the temperature I prefer and seasoned very well. The head chef even came by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. So much positive attention and great service all in one night. They know how to leave a lasting impression for sure.

It's great for taking that special someone if you want to impress them. The food is excellent, and the service is top-notch. It's less great at 4 PM on Thursday for one reason: the price. Dinner for three with one drink each cost us $150 before tip. It's funny how my wife's mom kept wondering why there was nobody there. This is partly why, though it did just open for the day. Mixed drink prices are in the $15 range, which to be fair is comparable to most places these days. And, beer is reasonably priced at $7 a pint for a Bell's Two Hearted Ale. Be forewarned that Bronze Door is also in the echelon of We Season Our Food Perfectly So You Don't Need Salt and Pepper. You can get some if you need it, which we did, though the need was minimal. My Orecchiette with Pesto and Chorizo was just about perfect, except it needed a dusting of salt. The sausage and pasta were flawless, but the pesto was more subtle than I would have liked. Fortunately, if you order the phenomenal focaccia bread, you get a side of pesto, which I mixed into the dish. My wife's orange glazed salmon was flawless. The potatoes that accompanied them also needed salt. Definitely order the focaccia bread. It's freshly baked and robustly herby. It doesn't need the pesto sauce or the chunky tomato sauce, but they are nice accompaniments. For a nominal fee ($4), you can get a Caesar side salad with your meal. My wife asked for dressing on the side, but the waiter didn't hear her. I'm guessing everybody usually gets the same overly dressed plate of salad. This is such a shame, because all the ingredients are beautiful. This is clearly freshly made dressing over the fresh greens, with shaved Parmesan Reggiano and a little anchovy swimming on top of it. As I said at the beginning, this is a perfect place to take somebody on a special occasion. Everything about the place is old school fancy, from the decor to the cuisine to the service. I think we'll be back on our wedding anniversary.
