Went here for drinks a few times they were pretty good and decently priced, they also have a patio for summertime which is nice. Terrible customer service. I was sitting at their outdoor patio. I had a full lemondrop martini and a bee flew in it while the waitress was standing right by me. She just stood there and didn't do anything so i stood up and dumped the drink over the railing then asked her to bring me another drink. She came back and said the manager said I would have to pay for another drink because I chose to sit outside. That is a very poor management decision. I'm pretty sure any other restaurant would have brought me another drink no charge. They've lost some customers now as i won't go back there- when it would have been negligible cost to them to comp me a new drink and foster customer good will instead of the opposite. read more

Pretty underwhelming! Ordered the carbonara, not much flavor adding salt, pepper and a generous amount of parmigiano Reggiano helped. The amount of Pancetta (see picture) was ridiculously small. My bad I didn't notice it was rigatoni, not my favorite, but whatever. Additionally no bread, side salad or soup. Price was $16 so not bad. But overall like I said before underwhelming. Atmosphere is nice, but the food is awful. Had a barely edible chicken Caesar wrap that had processed chicken slices and zero taste. Reminded me of one of those wraps you get from a vending machine. Asked for a side of Caesar dressing to give it some flavor and that was an extra dollar. Husband said his food tasted like it came from a meal kit. Wine was OK but both glasses smelled like mildew. Not here to bash this place, but I don't get how they can miss the mark that much on the food when the atmosphere and outside area is so nice. If you go here, don't eat here! Tried Whiskey Six for the first time since the new management took over. I had the Jambalaya, which was a special. It was good but the portion was fairly small for $20. My wife had the Octopus, which was very good except it game with instant mashed potatoes. Our server was very good and we've always enjoyed the ambiance. If you're going or charge premium prices, you shouldn't be serving instant potatoes. At this price point, they need to up their game. They have a great bar and this place should be packed. Its just so average. This place has some of the most potential in all of grosse pointe. Great bar area, live music, great wood interior with a fun pub vibe. Looking at it on paper it should crush, but unfortunately it falls flat everytime. There is no energy and no soul in there and the ambiance is just so meh. Service average, food is average, and drinks are bad. Ordered a draft beer and it was brought out to me flat as hell. On top of this, it obviously came from an old tap and had crustys floating around in it that had come from an old tap line. Any good bartender would not serve that beer. I did not drink it and was never asked about it. I tried to say something when she gave it to me but she ignored me. Unfortunately, this place needs new management, they need a new kitchen and they new marketing because they need bodies inside in order to not have problems like old stale beer because nobody is there to drink it! Step up or get out and let someone create something great with this great spot. read more

We went to sit on the patio with friends. 3 of us arrived about 10 minutes prior, informed our server we needed an additional chair and there would be 6 of us. The 3 original people were given waters even though we had said more were on the way, they never ended up bringing any for them. The drinks were not bad. Service was super super slow and we decided to just get the 1 round and go next door for sliders instead of stay there longer. We asked to split the bill and the server said it would take her a minute, we said ok and then she responded back... "and I'd have to go inside and it's not easy." We said ok.... she then said it would just be easier to do it on one check and basically refused to split the bill for us. We ended up just using a p2p mobile payment app to figure the bill out. It was kind of awkward how she just refused. I didn't notice on the menu it saying bills couldn't be split. All in all, the experience wasn't GREAT, I'd be willing to go back as it's local, but I'd not be rushing back soon with other options in the neighborhood. read more

First time here for me. We had food and drinks at the bar. My buddy had the Stir fry & he loved it. It did look delicious but he wasn't sharing. I went chicken lettuce wraps. I feel robbed. It's actually insulting how they cheat people out of good food for the prices they charge. Ordered Chicken Florentine- menu says "topped with spinach, Parmesan and a lemon butter sauce"- none of this happened. I got melted cheese on my chicken and that's all. The server (extremely nice) took it back and I ordered chicken Milanese. I've been to Whiskey Six a couple times, but most recently on a weeknight, as a date. We sat inside, which I've not done before. The interior is very nice; lots of wood, high ceilings, and there's an old car on display. They have a pretty good menu. The prices are fair, and there's something for everyone really. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and the deviled eggs for appetizers. I'm not much for deviled eggs, but they were good. The Brussels sprouts were good, though for me I felt like there was a too much balsamic vinegar and not enough of the other ingredients to balance it out. For our entrees, we both ordered the pub steak, medium rare. The cook on the steak was good, definitely what we were looking for. The only thing is I felt like it was tough, and that there wasn't any seasoning on the steak itself. The toppings of mushrooms and onions were delicious. The sides that came with it were asparagus and roasted potatoes. The asparagus were cooked nicely but had zero seasoning. The roasted potatoes on the other hand were fabulous. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, buttery and delicious. Overall, the seasoning on the food in general is why I rated a 3 instead of a 4. The service was great. Our waitress was extremely friendly and kind, made sure to refill our drinks and checked on us to make sure we were happy. In short, I would return again. read more

Can't say enough about this place. The chef is solid. We have taken people to Whiskey Six who have ordered things we never would, and they have raved about it. Their calamari is actually their own creation; I've not had any calamari like at Whiskey Six anywhere else; it's sticky and sweet and just good not overcome with breading. So many restaurants serve calamari that look like they were sourced from the same foodservice place, but theirs is their own. Their Brussel sprouts are heavenly. Done to perfection and full of taste. So, we like to eat food that is healthy and also a treat to eat done by a knowledgeable and talented chef. Which is why we eat here. read more

We came here for a birthday party. We needed a place that would accommodate 18 people and this place was perfect. Our server did a great job and even let us have up to 8 different credit cards to split the bill which was a concern for our group. We ordered the pizza which was delicious. The restaurant is named for both Prohibition-era six cylinder cars (aka: whiskey sixes that transported booze) and also we were told there are 6 co-owners of the restaurant. The worst bar. Moscow Mules on special for $4 on happy hour. I ask the bartender if I can substitute whiskey for vodka for this price. He says, "Yes." I get the bill for $10 per Mule. My wife and I came here when I wasn't busy at all, and were seated at a table. I noticed that there seemed to be only two people working - hostess and the bartender - and after several minutes nobody came to take our order. We noticed another table of people also looking around, hoping someone would notice them. I figured we'd move to where the workers were: we went to the bar, and were waited on within minutes. We started with massive soft pretzels that came with an excellent beer cheese. This is a really bad day to start a new diet! I decided on mahi-mahi fish tacos, which were grilled. Healthy, and the taste was good, but the fish was a bit dry. Some salsa or other sauce would have helped. My wife got the salmon...also excellent. Having to move to the bar to get service is ridiculous, of course. Fortunately, the food was good enough that we'll be back again anyway. EDIT: second time here was almost deserted, so we ate at the bar again. As with the last time, service was friendly and attentive. This time, I got a mushroom Swiss burger, which was well seasoned (a rarity in my experience) and beefy. The waffle fries were excellent, too. I did see a family sit at a table, and they were waited on after a reasonable amount of time. It must depend on who's working. But, the food is so good that we'll be back. read more

This place is a phenomenal. If you are a whiskey drinker and a classy spots fan then this is your place. The establishment has beautiful open floor wooden concept. The Bar is a full wrap around with more than plenty of seats and TVs as far as the eyes can see lol. My bartender TJ was awesome and service was amazing (side note, he knows alot about fantasy football). My partner and I ordered a pan pizza to share which absolutely did not disappoint and was fluffy and NOT flat pizza. I ordered manny different whiskeys but I must say I had to order an "Old Fashion" and "Manhattan". The Old Fashion I can say was top notch poured perfectly and I can say the same for the Manhattan. The pricing was very reasonable and I cannot complain. All that drinking caused me to break the seal and use the restroom which was VERY clean. My drink did not show up until AFTER our appetizer and AFTER my burger arrived. And after all that time, the glass had lipstick on it! How hard is it for a bartender to make a drink? Or to clean a glass? My wife's Caesar Salad was good and the salmon was good (though overpowered by the glazing). The bun of my burger was dry, like from the days old bread discount section at Kroger. And I was charged $3 for about 15 French fries. Came in late at night with a friend to watch the hockey playoffs as well as our local (in California) university baseball team play in the college World Series a few weeks ago and enjoyed our time here. Our server/bartenders whose name we did not get, was pleasant and let us try some different beers to see which ones we'd might like. We got several orders of beers and mixed drinks as well as an order to loaded fries, which were pretty good! A little bit on the pricier side, but given the neighborhood, it's not a surprise. Everything seemed cleaned (the bathrooms most importantly), and the lay out of this place is classy. The TVs around the bar were in perfect sight, and we were glad to come here. A friend suggested trying this restaurant, especially Bc there is an outside patio and kind of close to where I live. So I decided to check it. I did have to pay for parking, although my friend found a free parking spot that wasn't far in walking distance from the restaurant. But the outside patio area was cool! The waitress, well the wait for food and customer service was ok. I'm not sure how crowded the inside of the restaurant was, but it wasn't crowded outside, so the wait for food was a little longer than I expected, especially for what we ordered. I ordered the Chicken Grilled Club with Onion Rings, and my friend ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich with Onion Rings as well (I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the food unfortunately). But the food was ok. Just given the wait time and the food being just ok, I don't know that I would go back soon to this restaurant, but I would be open to trying again to try another selection, just Bc I enjoyed the area and the outside patio. read more
