Wow... great Tres Leches cake! I got the original (no fruit) and it is delicious. The pic I am attaching is only half of the portion they sell (my half)! Wonderful white chocolate button on top too... not as sweet as most white chocolate and absolutely yummy! They were out of tamales when I stopped by yesterday, but will go again...since their tamales have so many rave reviews. Very friendly person at the counter... and you can actually see them making more tamales, lol! What's not to love? read more

Those tamales are amazing. The red pork and the green chicken are both satisfying options. I prefer the pork (slightly). The tamales are $5.50 each for half a pound of tasty goodness. There is sauce in cups on the side so you can top your food as heavily as you please. There folks behind the counter are pleasant and the food comes out very quickly (out the door in less than two minutes). I love this place. read more

Huge huge huge tamales, I only tried the chicken but I'll be back for a pork tamale too. I love green sauce and theirs did not disappoint, so tangy and spicy and just enough acid to cut through the rich tamale. Their single portion tres leches cakes are also a great deal and they had lots of different flavors. I got a strawberry cake and ate it for dessert for three days straight. Light and airy cake soaked through with delicious milks and it still wasn't heavy despite how indulgent it tasted. The fresh strawberries in the middle made the perfect bite and I love the whipped frosting on top (I'm a buttercream hater). Also, such a clean interior! read more

I happened upon this place on Facebook and as my family loves authentic tamales and I love tres leches cake, I thought ok I must go! I'm compelled! I went today at 10:20amish and they had 2 flavors of tamales available; pork and chicken. Both are AMAZINGLY delicious, tender meat inside, great flavor and they are filling (huge, at 1/2lb each). Pork with red sauce is definitely my favorite of the 2. Was hoping for Jalapeno and cheese but they were unavailable; such is what happens with delicious and fresh made food! $3 a piece or cheaper by the dozen, they are still warm almost 2 hours later. The store was very clean and they were using every precaution to keep customers safe and the shop cleanly. I appreciated the effort and cleanliness! read more

Tamales are the best I've ever had, and are absolutely huge! One is plenty for one person. I recommend the jalapeño cheese. But wait! There's more! They have like five different kinds of Tres Leches cake, but coconut is my fav. Super friendly people, and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Go for the tamales, leave with some cake! read more

So good!!! I love the tres leches options and it is perfect comfort food as are the tamales!! Huge tamales!! Did I say I loved the tres leches because I do! I have tried the regular, coconut and flan flavored. The flan was a little too rich for me but it was still very good. I highly recommend! read more

They have by far the best tamales in town!! I buy at least 12 per month. I haven't tried their desserts as of yet, but I am anxious to try them. They had a gorgeous cake in the case last time I was there and I had wished I had bought it, maybe next time. Often when I drive by if the sign says open, my car just turns in and I get excited hoping that they still have tamales left. They sell out fast. The people are very nice, great service. read more

Bonnie, the owner, was quick to respond and they ended up communicating via phone to work through the details. They talked through the options and my wife chose a 9" vanilla cheesecake topped with a strawberry and blueberry compote which also included whole berries. Bonnie committed to having the cheesecake ready for pickup beginning on Saturday at noon. She explained that her cheesecakes are available for pickup at the J. Scott Cellars tasting room where her husband is the owner. Since we no longer live in the Eugene area, Bonnie was helpful in giving my wife logistical references to where J. Scott Cellars is within the 5th Street Public Market area (207 E. 5th Avenue, Suite 105). We planned our morning around picking up the cheesecake and arrived shortly after noon on Saturday. The young lady at the counter was friendly and helpful and immediately went to pick up the cheesecake from the back. The price was exactly as Bonnie had quoted, we paid and were on our way after peeking at it, it looked incredibly delicious! When we were ready to celebrate, we began slicing it up and oohed and awed over it. Of the six of us that were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of Bonnie's cheesecake, at least 4 of us are seasoned cheesecake people and let me tell you, Bonnie's cheesecake does not disappoint. Everything about it, the presentation, the flavor, the light, creamy texture and the delicious crust are all incredible. We all quickly agreed that the cheesecakes from La Dolce Vita would be our new "go to" when visiting Eugene. In addition, the prices are very reasonable for an artisan cheesecake. The website allows you to select from either a 9" diameter or 6" diameter and shares a variety of available cheesecake flavors: Berry Swirl (choice of raspberry, strawberry or mixed berry), Creamy Coconut, Chocolate or Chocolate Espresso, Kahlua or Baileys Irish Cream, Key Lime, Lemon, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin, Salted Caramel with Toffee Topping, Vanilla, and states special requests for any flavor not listed can be made.
