Ordered chocolate cake with strawberries. Pretty pricey cakes. Received a cake with almost no strawberries very disappointed in how customer service was handled. In no way apologetic not even a refund given after they asked to show proof of receipts. Told I would hear back from them never did. Not the great bakery it used to be.

I placed an order (paid upfront) of cupcakes (24) order 3 days before my daughters birthday and came to pick them up and the lady in front told me oh I'm sorry but the baking person forgot to make your cupcakes but no worries I'll make them for you before 12 my daughters lunch is @ 12:05, So I came back and they were almost done but they were nasty how can you think the icing is gonna stay up if the cupcakes are warm.. wtf 0 stars for sure..

Tres Leches cake with fruits in the filling $20

Best Tres Leches cake with fruits in the filling! They put strawberries, peaches and pineapple in the filling, topped with whipped icing that's fluffy and not too sweet. They have it ready inside the cooler. If you want the chocolate raspberry cake, you have to order it in advance. But they have Tres Leches, Pinacolada and Cookies N' Cream cakes ready daily. We come here everytime we pick up stuff at Imwalle Gardens, it's on the same street between Dave's Market and the Cleaners.

If I could leave 0 stars I would, I am sad to write this review because my family has been buying cakes from cristina's for a long time but sadly they disappointed my sister on her BIG DAY. We had asked for a BLUE BABY SHOWER CAKE, and received this monstrosity, I don't know what the message is with the BLACK FROSTING but it looks hideous. My sister's mother in law called in to complain and the lady on the phone hung up on her!!! They didn't even offer a refund or apologized for ruining the center piece of my sisters FIRST baby shower. Will never be coming back again and will never recommend this place to anyone.

Cake was dry, the strawberries tasted spoiled, the whipped cream around the cakes was kinda dry, I almost wanted to say this cake was made two or three days ago definitely not made yesterday or today, was

Full sheet size - Chocolate Raspberry Fruit Basket Tres Leches Cake! Three layers of moist yummy goodness...
    T N.

I first heard about this hidden gem when a coworker of mine took me here to pick up cake a couple of times for work baby showers she was hosting. The tres leches cakes were a hit (and I got to take home the leftovers--yum). With my previous positive experiences, I came here Sunday morning to make a last minute order of tres leches cake for a coworker's baby shower. For those who are worrying about a language barrier--rest assured, English is fine! The parking lot was fairly empty, and as others have mentioned, the shopping center is somewhat non-descript. The shop is nestled in a corner next to Dave's Market. The inside of the shop has a little refrigerator where you can see cakes on display. I ordered two 1/2 sheet tres leches fruit basket cakes (one chocolate raspberry and one vanilla). There were quite a few flavors offered--chocolate mocha seemed to be the most popular. The price was very reasonable for the size, quality, and time frame. So, I ordered the two cakes Sunday morning, asking for them to be ready at 7:00PM the next day, knowing full well that this was a last-minute order and that they had tons of other orders to fill, based on the order sheets tacked on the wall behind the counter. I come in at 7:00PM the next day. Cristina is still finishing up my cake, but I tell her that there's no rush at all. Fifteen minutes later, she comes out with a HUGE gorgeously decorated cake--much larger than the 1/2 sheet sample she had shown me on Sunday. I stare in disbelief, thinking that maybe she was mixing me up for someone else, or maybe had gotten the wrong cake--but no: She had made the half-sheet into a full-sheet as an apology for not having the cakes ready right on time. She then even helped with loading up the cakes and making sure that they weren't going to get smushed in the car. A really, really nice lady, and really nice people who run the shop. So sweet! As for the cakes themselves, the decorations were great--I didn't really know what was appropriate, so I just gave Cristina the go-ahead to decorate at her own discretion. I loved the "stork on a cloud" that she did! The cream frosting wasn't too sweet like supermarket cake frosting, and the inside fruits were fresh and plentiful. The three milks gave the cake a moist, yummy texture (in fact, I'm eating some leftovers right now). What can I say? This is probably the staple cake that we're going to have at every party from here on out. P.S. Sometimes they have flan in the fridge---not the silky Kozy Shack kind of flan, but the creamier, thicker Mexican (?) kind. It is really, really tasty as well!

    Cake

This is the cake I purchased on Thursday aug 13 and I could not believe that the girl that works there was rude and wrote this horrible wiring on our cake looks like a kid wrote it the owner is nice Cristina she needs to find workers that love working with cakes because they don't they can to provide more skills on decorating and there Attitude when I called her was not polite at all for a paying customer I would not give this shop any recommendations for a special occasion how are you gonna post pictures with this writing it just kills the whole cake

    VineMan/IronMan 70.3 mile completion cake!
    Dan C.

Amazing cake! I called on Sunday @ 7:45, looking for a celebratory desert for my wife's completion of the 70.3 IronMan/VineMan. The owner answered and agreed to let me come down even though he was technically closed. My wife and I are pretty much cake snobs. The Mango Tres Leches (Three Milk) cake was absolutely perfect. Most, with mango flavor accenting the cream seamlessly. Owner went out of his way to make sure, he could write something to fit the occasion, even though he was already staying late to accommodate my situation. Great product, with amazing customer service deserve 6 stars! Although we live in Pleasanton, we will come back for more cake in the future! Kudos!

Matt and Patrick were extremely friendly and the food was to die for! We celebrated our microwedding in Mill Valley and I have always selected new restaurants based on yelps top reviewed restaurants. I figured this would be the best way to go to select a catering option for an area we're not local to or able to try before in person. The reviews did not steer us wrong. We would love to book again after experiencing the food and stellar service. Appetizers: We ordered the heirloom tomato bruschetta which was one of my favorites! The tomatoes were fresh and every bite was memorable! The goat cheese croquettes were to die for and the braised pork shoulder had everyone coming back for more! Dinner: I'm not a huge kale person but we had an amazing kale Caesar salad that had me hoping I could recreate it at home. I honestly don't think there was any left over! It was accompanied by the grilled antipasto platter which complemented the lasagna dinner we had perfectly! The vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection! We had the classic bolognese lasagna and red wine braised boneless beef short ribs for our dinner option which were gone in the blink of an eye. Dessert: To top it off, we finished with the mini amaretto panna cotta and blackberry coulis. They were as delicious as they were aesthetically appealing!

Think twice (or more) and don't do it!…read more A group of four couples (hailing from Michigan to New Mexico) were flying into Napa for a long-planned get-together. We rented a home through VRBO and thought it would be a treat to have a catered meal from Epicurean Escape. The price was over $1000 but seemed well worth it and we paid the bill 10 days prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, if not unbelievably, we were alerted by VRBO the very next day that our contract was being cancelled as the rental house had just been purchased by a new owner. Thinking we might have to cancel the trip as VRBO might not have an alternative (they did not), we immediately contacted the caterer that we would have to cancel plans. This was 9 days prior to the planned dinner. The caterer then informed us that this was beyond their normal 10 day cancellation policy and there was nothing they could do other than a (hold your breath) 25% refund!! provide a 'credit' - a great idea for a group of 8 with most of us living thousands of miles away, or assisting us in relocating to a new venue. We eventually located a hotel where we could stay and proceeded with the trip - still very much disappointed with the caterer for not refunding our money with 9 days prior notice (along with forwarding them the note of cancellation from VRBO). With a $150 delivery fee charged by the caterer for delivery to our hotel, and no way for us to warm the food in our rooms, we anticipated the meal would arrive on serving trays with sterno heaters. But of course not.. The server who delivered the food was very nice and accommodating (we tipped them as well even though the paid contract already included an 18% gratuity fee). We began eating immediately, only to find all the food (fish and beef main courses) at room temperature. Perhaps everything would have tasted better had it been heated, but classifying the meal as 'mediocre' would be overly kind. Making matters worse (if that's possible), we have been promised a 'final' contract as three of the planned attendees could not attend, and the caterer agreed to 'adjust', only to never hear back from them almost 2 weeks later. Inflexible policy + less than thrilling meals = at least in my book, an experience worth avoiding at all costs. Caveat emptor.
