Warmed watercress and goat cheese dip
    Rick R.

Another amazing dinner tonight! My friend started with the app special Warmed Watercress and Goat Cheese dip with crostini. I had the Pastiche Onion Soup and added the Seared Foie Gras app special. I had the Grilled Mahi Mahi with sweet corn risotto and asparagus and added a side of dauphinois potatoes, and my friend had the East Coast Flounder "Belle Meiniere." We shared bites, and every dish was on point! We were too full for dessert, and my friend ordered a Lemon Tart to-go. Pastiche is a short drive from Milwaukee's city center and you need to go there, if you haven't been, and go back if you have!

Profiteroles - yumm! A fantastic way to finish a fantastic meal. Small enough to tackle in a few bites. Big enough to share with someone special. Would definitely recommend!

I've moved to the Brown Deer area for about three months and finally got a chance to check out this hidden gem in our neighborhood. From the reviews and comments, I decided to try out their brunch first. They only offer Sunday brunch from 10-1 and for other days they offer fine dining during dinner hours. Prices are a bit above average since it is an upscale French restaurant. I was first impressed by the decorations and design of the inner building. It is very classy. Also the services were very good. We ordered the Benedict and the duck biscuit for our brunch. The Benedict were very tasty. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the sauce were very homemade in the way that it was a bit sour than the standard ones, which I like! I guess from now on I will add a bit more lemon/lime into my hollandaise sauce as well! Duck biscuit was very flavorful - tender inside and crispy on the outside. The duck meat was stuffed in the biscuit and they fit so perfectly. It was a bit too salty for me, but I still consider it really good! Overall I would say the brunch were a really nice experience. Can't wait to come back and try out their dinner menu.

Date of visit: May 7, 2025…read more After a very long hiatus, we reassembled the trivia team and did battle at The Elevens Lounge, part of The Annex at Foxtown and were pleasantly surprised overall by the experience. Parking is plentiful in the lot directly outside as well as the lower lot. The space is quite large and in a ] shape, with a mix of low tables and high tops. The low tables are not ideal for eating, I'd recommend grabbing a couple of high tops if you're planning to dine in. Speaking of dining, the food is quite good, if a bit on the expensive side. I went with the French Onion Burger (sans onions, naturally) and even though it didn't say it on the menu, it came with a side of fries that were quite good--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the fries that Five Guys aspires to offer but never quite achieves. The fries were so plentiful I filled up on those and some of my husband's pizza and saved the burger for dinner the next day, which reheated very well and was on a fantastic bun. Service during trivia is always a crapshoot but Quadrea, better known as Q, did his best to keep things moving, though he didn't write anything down and kept forgetting things, which in the end probably slowed things down more than anything. All that being said, we liked the venue and will definitely be back for trivia again.

They had a very nice approachable wine list with some excellent values. The last time we were in it was a bit of a surprise to see only one choice of red for $14 per glass. Next choice was 28 and higher... Most bottles $100 on up. Higher than Napa menus. We were offered the "house" wine... but why bother. Nice selection of Foxtown beers, good pizza and friendly service as always, but with much less expensive quality offerings in the area our visits will be less frequent.... For wine anyway.

When we were there it wasn't too busy, so you were able to have a conversation at your table without shouting to be heard. I'm not sure how it would be when they start to get very busy. Walking into Renard's, my first impression was that it had a romantic fine dining vibe and the room was bright. We were seated at a table with four wooden chairs, and unfortunately, all of us found the chairs extremely uncomfortable. For dinner, we ordered the Caesar salad, soup, olive & sausage pizza, crab fettuccine, French onion burger, and fries. The standout for me was the soup--it was flavorful and had a bold lemon taste that I enjoyed. The cannellini beans and kale made it hearty and satisfying. My husband and I were really disappointed by the olive & sausage pizza. We're pizza lovers but this one was overwhelmingly salty--even after we removed the olives, the sauce and ricotta were still too salty to enjoy. We ended up barely touching it. The crab fettuccine had great flavor, but the texture of the crab was not for me- it was crunchy, possibly from bits of shell. The French onion burger was a hit- big, cheesy, and satisfying. The fries were also great, especially paired with the aioli dip.
