Valentines Dinner 2/13. Granted my husband waited until the last conceivable minute to make a reservation someplace so there's that...yay for feeling thought of. But to add insult to injury we were sat literally 2 feet from the front door in a space the size of my master bedroom at a 18" x 2 ft table- talk about tight space. When we opened the door to enter building the noise level was off the charts- hit like a ton of bricks (I honestly would have told the hostess at this moment that we politely cancel due to noise level and headed to Chick Fil A but...). I could not hear myself think between the music and chatter let alone have any sort of nice intimate dinner conversation. The table behind us was filled with 10-12 screeching ladies, which also meant I had a waitress's rear end in my should half of dinner as she served them. Aside from all that fantasticness, we ordered the beet salad- couldn't get the weeds on my fork and over all no great flavor. Next up, a charcuterie board- $28ish dollars for like $3 worth of food- best item on the board was heated pita bread, and then we got the peach brie flat bread- not kidding- it tasted like chlorinated pool water. Husband had the gyro tacos- I didn't even try them. In conclusion- if you are a man who loves and appreciates his wife and you want to do something nice for her on Valentines, start by actually planning ahead. Food tasted amazing here! All that you can want for Mediterranean fare: farm-to-table vibes. Restaurant was decorated nicely to reflect lakefront town. Waitress was really sweet and down-to-earth and attentive to us as a larger group. I would definitely come back to try their other items. We loved everything we ate! Chicken shwarma had a more Indian-influence with turmeric and other spices. Bread was seasoned with za'atar. Octopus was paired with olive oil and not overcooked (not rubbery). Pleasantly surprised by this new place in the heart of Pewaukee Beach! The decor and menu was inviting so I was lucky enough to get a seat at the bar during the Beach Party! Across the street from Pewaukee Beach, we thought this would be an excellent place to ride our bikes for a good meal. They express that they are a small plates concept- we didn't want a huge dinner, so that worked. We were seated outside, which was great. Wine came quickly- also great. The food? Well- it was bad. The Schwarma had maybe 2 pieces of meat in it, and it had no spice. The chimmichurri sirloin had 2 issues: the steak was done too well. I know, there are some folks that don't like their steaks pink, but at least ASK. It was like cardboard. And the sauce was NOT chimmichurri. So, this will be a place to grab a salad and a glass of wine. read more

This is the second time I've been here in 2 weeks! The first time was an amazing experience which is what these photos are from. The food feels very high quality, has beautiful presentation, and is oh so tasty! I actually love the Bruscetta Trio so much I had to get it again. The orange and strawberry on the warm brie with honey is the best combo of flavors-im obsessed. The steak sliders are also incredibly tender, they're fantastic! The second time around wasn't as amazing as the first time, but was still really good. I'm chaulking it up to it being a busy Friday night which lead to longer food waits. The one thing that would be nice is a more expanded drink menu. My husband and I weren't in the mood for alcohol, so having some mocktail options would have been nice! However, it was the noisiest restaurant ever, felt like I was in bar. People talked loud to hear over horrible background music which consisted of thumping base music. I so much wanted to like this lovely little bistro and we arrived to a cute atmosphere with very few tables and a small bar. I felt it was very much like a taverna in Greece or Italy, which I like. Three of us ordered the sliders and they were very tasty, and the charcuterie board was a hit with the others. The Mushroom Risotto with Shrimp did not thrill the one who ordered it. The wine selection looked like a nice variety. There were going to be 5 of us and even thought 3 of us arrived earlier than the last two, the server started to tell us about the menu and options. When I asked her to wait for the others to arrive she continued anyway and had to start over again when the last 2 arrived. Many tables were filled and the noise level was a bit much when added to the server's heavy accent and music. (Having an accent does not bother me so please don't take offense at this.) We all were unsure of what she had told us but determined she was explaining the small plate sharing idea to us. When I asked for a Moscato wine she told me it was really sweet and actually seemed put off when I said that this is what I would like anyway. The small dishes do not come out at the same time and when the first one arrived we were told to start eating and not to wait. This was not a dish we were planning to share so we waited for the other dishes to arrive, about 4-5 minutes later, and again one by one. It just seemed like a lot of instructions were given to us and the server had no hesitation to continuously reach in front of my sister to get to the dishes, stopping all conversation each time she did so. I am mixed about the evening. Everyone meant well, the food was good but for us it was not the evening of quiet conversations that we had hoped for. read more

We decided to try this new restaurant in downtown Pewaukee for the experience. The owner is a Greek gentleman who had worked with some of my coworkers in the past all from Greece. We ordered three main items off the menu and our drinks and we're very satisfied with the meal. Our server did a nice job explaining things to us. We eat outside on the patio which was lovely and relaxing and we had a wonderful time. The owner stopped over to say hello and make a connection that really helped us enjoy the experience more. We randomly chose Beach House Bistro for a quick birthday dinner, as we wanted to be near the water and they did not disappoint! The food is incredibly fresh and authentically Mediterranean- no overbearing flavors, fresh veggies and seafood, etc. The owner (greek) is also very present, greeting customers and serving several of the dishes as they were completed to ensure a low wait time. As others have stated, the dining room and patio are fairly small, so it may be slightly more challenging for a larger group without a reservation- but definitely encourage doing so! They also have rather small tables but we appreciated that empty plates were cleared so quickly to avoid crowding. We had the bruschetta trio (massive and delicious), lamb lollipops (so good, excellent chimichurri), and couscous bowl with chicken (still thinking about how I can replicate it until my next visit), paired with Rose and white sangria. Can't recommend highly enough! Every dish was on point, the servers were attentive and friendly and the location is amazing. We chose the pear salad, steak sliders, gyro tacos and had one of the best tiramisu's I've ever tasted. Each portion was just right and the flavors balanced and complimented each other well. Llazar is busy starting up his newest restaurant next door but took the time to come over and welcome us. He is one of those people who exude passion for what they do. Ok so I love the look and location of this restaurant. We made a reservation for 2 at 5:30 pm and we were seated immediately. The staff was very attentive with our order and service. We ordered the Dolmas which were very fresh and authentic along with the Trio. The hummus had very little flavor and the tzatziki and olive tapenade were just fine. The chicken shawarma had very little recognizable chicken and the squash was very over cooked. For the prices, I would like to see much more flavor and significant protein in a protein dish that starts with Chicken. At 7:30 pm we were told there was another reservation for the table. The entire time we were there there was an empty 2 top next to us. Granted they might have needed to push the tables together but still. The restaurant is small enough that we would have seen a 4 top come in. So.....3 stars it is. read more

Great little Mediterranean tapas style restaurant facing Pewaukee lake. The waitstaff and manager (or owner?) were extremely welcoming and pleasant! Would definitely recommend for smaller groups as the restaurant is very small but I'm sure they could accommodate larger groups with prior notice. My sister-in-law and I came here for dinner on a Friday evening, and we called ahead and put our name in to sit at the bar. I would highly suggest making reservations otherwise you will need to wait - but it's definitely worth the wait! Our waitress was great, she recommended a delicious rose Prosecco which we ended up getting a bottle of. They only serve wine & beer so keep that in mind. She also suggested a few items which we shared and loved. Their Schawarma was very flavorful and the curry was on point. Delicious warm pitas and an outstanding tzatziki sauce with veggies. I wish there was a little more chicken in the dish because it was minimal but so tasty. We also shared the baked feta which came with pitas and raw veggies - very good! And lastly the tuna crudo which was seared sliced ahi tuna with a blood orange dressing. The tuna quality was very good but was missing something like a ginger or soy/acidic punch. We saw other customers who ordered sliders and a sliced chimichurri sirloin which looked & smelled so tasty - will have to save those items for next time! Met a friend here for dinner on the patio at her recommendation and it was a great choice! We had a large umbrella over our table, but the weather was great. We shared a bottle of Rubus red zin, which I've never tried, and it turned out to be a winner. We shared the bruschetta trio and the caprese plate, both were delicious, but the standouts for me were the balsamic and the seasoning on the caprese and tomato bruschetta. The peaches, honey and Brie were a fun combination. There was a curry dish I would be interested in trying, as well as the shawarma. Throughout the meal, my friend was saving room for dessert, and I was looking forward to it too because she had told me they have baklava. My mom used to make baklava every year or so, and after that I worked with a guy who would bring it to work as his birthday treat every year. I've missed having baklava, and Beach House's was delicious. Service on the patio was good, and I never ventured inside, so I can't comment on anything in there, but I would come back again! read more

Oh yes, this is just the kind of fresh and new vibes we desperately needed on the downtown Pewaukee strip! The interior of this restaurant glows with a warm whitewashed summer vacation home vibe. And it really does feel like a home, due in part to the open concept dining room, bar and kitchen. Owner and chef Llazar (sp?) is involved in every step, taking care to make sure everyone is enjoying their meals, greeting the regulars, or offering drink recommendations. The food stays in line with a Mediterranean beach vibe. Nothing on the menu is overly rich or heavy, but it all tastes great and won't make you want to take a nap. The bruschetta trio is probably the best thing on the menu so far, but I also love the shawarma (after adding a considerable amount of salt.) The bar serves beer and wine only, which is a noteworthy setback for now, and I hope liquor is in their future, but that isn't enough to make me stop showing up for the food and vibes. So if you're ready to upgrade from the Ho-hum bar food in Pewaukee, or the outrageously expensive and not as good neighboring beachfront restaurant that shall not be named but rhymes with Schmartisan 179, make this your next stop, you won't be disappointed! read more

WOW. This place... Chef's Kiss. This place is EXCELLENT. Walking inside, there's about 7 or 8 tables so it's pretty intimate. It was louder than we expected, but we liked that because it made it less intimidating! The kitchen is completely open which is always my favorite, as you're able to watch the chefs prepare the food right in front of you. Speaking of food - absolutely amazing. We loved EVERYTHING we ordered and were sad when it had to come to an end because we were so full! It is more of a "tapas style" restaurant, but that does not mean you can't go and order your own plate and walk away completely happy. It's way more fun to share and try a bit of everything, but I know that's not always for everyone (; So you can do it both ways! Once the kitchen closed, the owner walked around to all the tables thanking people for coming and checking in on customers. The service was great as well! The staff is amazing! We loved our waitress, you could tell she truly enjoyed her work and took pride in it. The owner gave us a free bottle of champagne for my mom's birthday and took time to talk with us. We got a lot of different things and loved them all. Don't remember the last time I have said that. My daughter and I decided to give this a try when the Italian place next door was booked. We decided not to wait for outdoor seating because we were starving. Indoor atmosphere was very nice but we could not get over how LOUD it was. We could not hear our waitress, not sure if she heard our order. After 10 minutes we couldn't take the noise level to be able to enjoy ourselves. I observed an open table outside and asked if we could move. Staff accommodated us nicely and we then enjoyed our sangrias. Highly recommend the sangria. Our food came out at the same time, we were hoping to get our salad first but I don't think our waitress could hear us when ordering. Our food was very good and would love to go back, but I could never sit inside. They have to do something with the acoustics or it will keep people away when the weather turns colder. This is a hidden gem on Pewaukee Lake! The food was eclectic and delicious! The crab cakes featured lots of crab meat and were not overloaded with breading as they can be at other restaurants. The service was outstanding. It has the ambiance of beach front cafes in Miami I have enjoyed. read more

The outdoor seating is very welcoming with white table cloths overlooking a lake with lots of families enjoying the water. The food is phenomenal, fresh ingredients, potions are very generous for a small plates restaurant. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, she was pleasant, and knew the menu so well and was able to make a few great suggestions.
