This place was really cool & on our bucket list when we came for our first visit to Vermont last year but the employees were INSANE about following us around & the rules with the tokens ... they wouldn't even let us walk upstairs to look at it without paying first even if we weren't playing? (There's literally hot dogs and pretzels in a creepy stand that's it) Then proceeded to yell at my 70 year old mother when she touched a pinball machine my dad was playing on (she wasn't playing just watching & he paid to play) & told her to get off & to wait outside. This place is fantastic! As Matt W. said, the games are in great shape, and if something is amiss the repairs are done quickly. I especially like that the oldest machines are indeed playable, unlike some other pinball museums I have visited where the owners haven't been able to figure out how to get them up and running. They are delightful to play, and as others have commented, playing through the timeline of pinball innovation is a real treat. Then why not five stars? For starters, it is a bit expensive, especially for a family. It would be nice to see a little more of a break for brining in a bigger group of folks. And for more experience pinballers who can play for an hour on just a few bucks, the all day pass feels like a splurge while the 30 minute pass seems like a complete waste of time. Really the mere existence of the 30 minute pass just has me scratching my head. It's still a lot of money for the time, and what can anyone do in this massive space in just 30 minutes? It feels like a sneaky way to get someone in the door and then compel them pay for the full day pass once they are there. I am also not fond about the rule where if you step outside you cannot return without paying for another all-day pass. As one might expect, it's a loud chaotic environment inside, and it would be nice to have an all day pass, but still be able to take a break with a walk through town. There really isn't a place inside to decompress, and I had to send one of my kids home with another family, when the kiddo was feeling overstimulated. That was a bummer. There are a few other minor annoyances too, but I do not want to detract from what a marvelous resource Pastime Pinball is for pinball lovers young and old. I was able to bring a new convert into the pinball fold too. Once you get bitten by the bug, playing pinball quickly becomes quite a compulsion. Should I find myself back in the area, I will do whatever it takes to return to Pastime Pinball. However, if the prices were a bit lower, I might spend every day of my vacation there instead of making one special outing to scratch the pinball itch. I just recommend going as soon as they open and staying until the bitter end to squeeze all the value out of the experience. Then you can also avoid the heartbreak of their policies should the joint reach its capacity. Just prepare yourself to eat hot dogs and nachos for your meals, and maybe bring some noise cancelling headphones so you can better decompress in the snack bar for a bit should you need a break. read more

I'm a huge pinball fan and was obsessed with this place that we stumbled upon while visiting Manchester. I didn't have time to play b/c we had to pick up our kids but wanted to check it out and my wife needed to use the restroom. So we walked in and we're accosted by a hostile person selling tickets at the front who basically dropped what he was doing with the line of customers to he could block our way and then yelled at us that the bathrooms are for paying customers only. I'm a pinhead and I honestly am out of superlatives to apply to Pastime. The collection is wide-ranging, with machines from 1947 to 2024. It's well-curated, with excellent players from every era of pinball, from woodrails to LCD screens. And the machines are maintained in tip-top condition, no mean feat for a public arcade. (If there is something wrong, report it, and it will be fixed almost immediately). They have two pricing plans, a half hour, or all you can eat all day. Just go ahead and skip to the all day pass. You will break even on what you would have spent with quarters and dollar bills within an hour and a half. There's a modest snack bar on the second floor, and the good news bad news good news is that you can't take food on the floor with the pinball machines. It's good because it assures patrons there will be no food disasters around the games. (Good food, and me, I'd like to think I can be trusted with food downstairs, but really it's quite a good idea). Throw in some friendly and supportive owner-operators, you have a destination. Very much worth a day trip here just to play. The main item on my wish-list is later evening hours, at least on weekends; I seem to always just miss closing when I'm passing through. read more

Great place to spend an hour or two with some old school pinball games. Kids had a blast.

The only problem with this place is that it's 4 hours from myhome and I can't get there nearly enough. Whomever came up with this concept is a genius. Doesn't matter if you're a 6 year old kid or a 50 year old kid, this place is fun! The machines are very well maintained and the playfields are all smooth and consistent. Although a number of machines need to be slightly leveled, the game play is awesome. There is a playable machine front and center built with acrylic so you can see it's inner workings and what it takes to maintain a pinball machine. It's no easy feat and I expect getting parts these days isn't as easy, either. There is a great selection of popular pinball machines from over the years and they are organized chronologically. They even have a Pole Position video game on the top floor as a bonus. I found the half hour admission was just way too short. Opt for the unlimited play. It's a great place to drop your kids, too, if you want to go shopping in town. I try and spend one afternoon here every time I come up. Make sure to call for hours before you go if you are there in the off-season. read more

Before I visited here I thought I could play about half an hour of pinball before getting bored, but sprung for the Stay and Play. I HIGHLY recommend the Stay and Play, as I ended up playing Pinball for two and a half hours. The machines range from the truly oldschool to a Wizard of Oz, Simpsons, and Halloween games. Very cool and worthwhile pinball museum where the exhibits are in working order and visitors can play to their hearts' content. There is a "sampler" which gives you more than enough time to get your arcade on, unless you are some kind of especial pinball enthusiast. Some cool non-pinball games upstairs. What a fun place. Friendly and helpful staff They have tons of pinball machines both old and new. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was reasonably busy but there was never a wait. Reasonably priced too since you can play all you want for one price. We were there for a couple of hours and it flew by. Hope to go back someday. read more

A-FREAKING-MAZING!!!!! Step back into time when life was innocent and oh so much easier... all we had was a pocket full of quarters burnin a hole in our pocket and a bike to get us there. If you love pinball, heck even if you don't love it like myself I GUARANTEE you, you WILL love this place. Cost was a reasonable $15.00 per person for 30 minutes of unlimited play. Games are sorted according to generation. Small snack bar upstairs we didn't get anything from but it looked to be enough for a quick hold over... soda, beer, popcorn... unfortunately I didn't look at the menu upstairs as when I got up there I realized there was that darn baseball/pinball game I lost the ranch in as a kid... needless to say it still kicks my arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a kid, I was never super into arcade games, especially pinball games, so I wasn't sure how much of a kick I would get out of all-pinball retro arcade. But I loved it. It's like a time warp, going through all the different eras. And the games are in pristine condition! Truly impressive. There is some real historic interest here, plus you get to play them all. I only went for the 30 minute "sampler" pass, but I would definitely get the all-day pass next time. It's pretty infectious. read more

They may have great machines but oh my lord are the owners overbearing and rude. For what they charge it is not worth it. I recently went with my family and we wanted to get some popcorn. The female co-owner whined about turning it on and was making it seem like such a hassle we eventually said never mind. I'm not sure why but the male co-owner must have trust issues, or maybe not realize how he comes off because he sometimes stares at you like he's trying to catch you do something wrong. Very distracting while you're trying to play a friendly game of pinball. Not coming back. For kicks, check out the owner's review responses on Google. My husband and I were coming back from a trip to Vermont and we decided to go through Manchester on the way home. I saw Pastime Pinball and I was like, what is that, we need to learn more!! We checked it out, stayed and had the best time. I love all the original pinball machines and the description of where they were created and then the games of the 70's, 80's through today. And, they had my favorite pinball game - The Addams Family - which gave me "all the feels" and brought me back to the college union in the 90's. We had a great time, played for almost two hours and it was wonderful time. My only sadness is that there is not a Pastime Pinball closer to me, but then again, Vermont is such a nice place to visit! Went into Manchester for lunch and walk around with a friend and her family. Her boys were very interested in checking this place out. When we arrived there was a couple in front of us so we were waiting. I had just wondered out loud if there was a place for us to sit while the boys played? Her husband casually looked up towards the snack bar sign. The owner or manager yelled at him, we were all taken back. We left and the boys never got to play, so disappointed! In town for a wedding weekend, and my husband suggested this old school arcade as a daytime date. It was so unique and FUN! It cost $25 per adult for an all-day pass, and it was well worth the money. 2.5 hours passed by quickly, and we could have easily stayed longer but we needed to go prep for the wedding. They have a bar upstairs with food and drinks, so really great for a date or a hang with friends! read more

came here with my husband and 4yr old and 6 yr old. the person at the front desk was not very personable, maybe he was having a bad day but his attitude really turned us off, he would not allow us adults escort my two young children in without paying even though we were not playing at all. it was a slow off season weekday not many people were there, he would only allow one of us in and with those prices i was not going to pay for us adults not playing. a family of 4 with young children should allow adults in to escort. the price was a bit crazy for just 30 mins of play and they were very strict about not going another minute over playing or you would have to pay the whole hour. a few of the games would not play or not work properly. it was not fun as i had to run after both kids alone and watch the time like a hawk while my husband sat outside waiting. We will not be returning again, extremely disappointed for what you get. read more

This review isn't for the place itself, we actually never got to play, this is a review of their "wait" policy when they're at capacity. We came here on a day it rained on the hill, so we were looking for alternate fun. Well, this place came recommend and our girls (5, 6, 10) were super pumped as we approached the door. Immediately, a large man stopped us and told us to come back in 45 minutes since they were at capacity, he didn't take our names or even ask. So we went across the street to the amazing bookstore and wandered back after about 40 minutes. As soon as we walked over, there was now a line, and again, a guy telling people to come back later. We were finally able to get inside to wait (it was 20 degrees out) and after another 15 minutes, was told it'd be another half an hour. The explanation? They sold too many "unlimited" family tickets, which gives them all the time in the world to play dozens of games, even through there were at least 15 people waiting outside. Here's a tip to the owners: when there's a line outside, QUIT selling unlimited tickets! Not only would you get more people inside and playing games, you'd make more money with the 30 minute tickets at $20/pop. Win-win for everyone. Until they fix this policy, if there's a line, stay away since you'll never get in. read more

Such and fun place to visit and we're so lucky to have Pastime Pinball in our town! I brought my children several times when they first opened and held my older son's 5th birthday there just weeks after they opened. Everyone had a great time. I hesitated in visiting since the pandemic started but we went again last week, and the place is perfectly set up with hand sanitizer dispensers throughout, and the staff is diligent about cleaning. Fortunately/Unfortunately, there were not many people there, and it's already so spacious that it doesn't feel crowded. I highly recommend going (with your children if you have them) early on Friday afternoons. That's when we went and we plan on doing it again often. Fun! I felt like I was reliving childhood again. The upstairs had the better games IMO- skee ball, street fighter, Pac-Man, shooting games. The pinball games were cool, it was nice to see the progression from the 1940s and onward. What a cool place! We thought we would only be here for 30 mins (15 bucks) but we had such a great time that we ended up staying for close to 3 hours (25 bucks). Totally worth it. Great machines and they serve snacks. They have pinball machine from 1950s to present day. Each machine has a little description card that told you about the artist who designed the graphics, the theme and relevance to pop culture, and the history of the machine. Our nephews loved it (age 4 to 7). Wish they served alcohol. That would have been the cherry on top. read more
