Yesterday my husband and I only had the Maple Creamee and it was delicious! The maple came through strongly and the juxtaposition of creaminess, solidity, and fluffiness was on point! The young man who made them was sweet and welcoming. The covered tables were available for seating. The rest of the Fun center looks nice; outdoor mini golf, arcade games, prizes, etc. We didn't go in to play any but would go back for a fun rainy day time. read more

My wife and I have teased our kids and our thing is mini golf. We travel all over the north east to play a round. We base out of Bennington VT. We passed otter Creek fun counter a couple of times and had to stop in and play a round. We found what we would assume as the owners very nice with a beautiful property. Lots of snacks and a few good games.to play. The mini golf course was beautiful and one of the most challenging courses we have played yet. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very family friendly and lots of fun and food for the entire family at a great price. We will definitely be going again near season. read more

Driving through the area, you see a 20ft long banner that screams "firewood", so you'd think that it would be a quick roadside stop like most firewood pickups are. Oh boy was I wrong. After 15 minutes of patiently waiting to chat to the front of house lady manning the entire place, she promptly said her husband handles the firewood. Well her husband was the only back of house staff. Clearly busy making food, it took about 10 minutes to get his time. At this point I absolutely knew deep down I should just cut my losses and move on. Mind you, I didn't. The man in the yellow shirt proceeded to get on his SxS and drive to the other side of his property to retrieve said wood. Another 10 minutes he returns parking out front. I finally go to pay for the wood, (2) bundles. It's $20, At this point I've spent 35 minutes here, I just pay it and grab the wood on my way out. Well let me tell you if this wasn't the wettest firewood I ever did overpay for, it took me about 2 cups of gasoline and all the newspaper I had to get it lit. Also, each bundle was about 4 logs. So I paid $2.50 for each wet log I got. Robbery. If you're going to have a 20ft banner for firewood; put the wood out front under a cover with a pay box. This was infuriating. read more

We stopped in to get some of the famous "Maple Creamy" ice cream. As we pulled up we noticed the sign which states "No Pets" so we left our little Violet in the car. As we walked through the front door we were greeted by a large dog that wouldn't move that we needed to walk around and hope the dog was friendly. After we ordered our ice cream we went outside to take in the beautiful scenery. We got Violet out to stretch her little legs since we've been in the car for a while. We kept her outside to walk on the sidewalk. The owner quickly came running over and told us to keep our dog out of the grass. We said ok and decided to put Violet in the car. As we were respecting his wishes....the owner then decided to talk about us to a customer walking in. We clearly heard him say "How many signs do I need to post". We were complying to your request so why do you feel the need to discuss this other customers? My wife asked him why and he replied "can't you read". You then said your insurance policy doesn't allow pets on the property....I find it ironic that pets are not welcomed but you have one inside. You also have a No Smoking sign....do you smoke inside to? We will never step foot in your place again. And by the looks of it over the years we're not the only ones. Some friendly advice, you may want to switch out your NY customer service skill set to something a less abrasive and vexatious....this could help your customer base. Also, maybe you should learn how to read your own signs! read more

We had a wonderful time at Otter Creek Fun Center today! The kids enjoyed playing the arcade games and using the bouncy castle. We had burgers for lunch and they were freshly made and very yummy. We all agreed that the fries were the best we've ever had! We got ice cream on our way home. The maple soft serve was great! We are looking forward to another trip back to play mini golf. They have club lengths to accommodate differing heights and the fun of a rainbow of golf ball colors to pick from. Afterwards we went to the window and had ice cream. They serve a variety of soft and hard ice cream along with other food items. They have lots of picnic tables under a large tent. Located in a pretty valley surrounded by the mountains. read more

We were looking for something to do on an afternoon and chose a place that offered both mini-golf and Maple Creamies. We were not disappointed. The venue itself is more geared towards children's birthday parties, but the mini-golf was decent enough. Par 2 for each hole was a joke, but the challenge made it engaging. Plus, the view (looking at mountains on either side of the course, made it special. After the game we got our ice creams, and chatted with the owner. He had moved from Long Island a few years ago and makes the Maple Creamies himself. They were excellent. All in all a fun afternoon if you're in the area. read more

Would give negative stars if I could. Planned our day around going here. My family and my friend's family showed up at 11:20AM and it was closed. We were getting ready to leave until a truck pulled up. Driver looked annoyed that we were there. Says it isn't his fault that he is late, that he was behind a truck that was painting stripes on the road. Ok... We figured he was just flustered, and since we drove 45 mins to get there, we decide to give it a chance. We walk into the small arcade to check it out. The prices to play were put of control. One arcade game was $3! But my friend and I decide we'll let the kids play anyway, (again, since we had planned our day around this) and then we'd play mini golf and have some ice cream. My teen went over to the basketball game and picked up one of the balls. The owner shouted at him that he had to pay for that. WTAF!?!? That's when we started walking out to tell our husband's that this probably wasn't going to work out. My husband had let the dog out to stretch his legs. Since there are signs at the front about no pets allowed, my husband took the puppy (on a leash) way down the road past the place, just in case the pup needed to do hos business(which he didn't, but even if he had, we have flourescent poop bags to pick it up and bag it with). As we were walking out, the owner yelled at my friend about my husband and the dog. She said we are super responsible dog owners and that if the dog pooped, we'd pick it up. I overheard some of that so I asked the owner what was going on, and he said, you better make sure that guy picks up any poop and not leave it. I told him we are super responsible dog owners and would never do that, and that there are poop bags attached to the leash. He went on and on about how everyone says that, but they eave it and then when he heads down there to cut the grass he's always finding dog poop. What an a$$hole! To sum up, we are 4 adults and 4 kids. We would have all mini golfers at approximately $60, then would have spent at least $20 per person at the arcade since the games were so expensive, add $160, then ice cream, add $50, for a total of just about $300 that this guy lost this morning because he was so miserable ro us. So dude doesn't like kids, dogs, or adults. Maybe he's in the wrong business. I am all about supporting small, local business, but this guy's attitude made it impossible. DO NOT GO HERE read more

Hands-down the best Maple Creemee in Vermont! We have driven past this place in the past and stopped in to check it out. Putt-putt prices were affordable and we played 18 holes twice, ending the day with maple creemee. The ice cream isn't soft-serve- it's homemade and the maple flavor is strong and sweet- definitely real Vermont maple syrup! We had so much fun, we brought the whole family a few days later for another round of golf and more ice cream. Definitely stop by and support this local business! read more

Would not recommend. There is a dog that runs around in the kitchen. That's a health violation. Regardless of it being a rescue its unsanitary. I've also witnessed owner be rude to employees. Tried to tip once and employ told me the owner takes all there tips. I will not support this business and would not recommend it to any one either. Poor management read more

This review is only for their ice cream. We were a bunch of out-of-towners in the area for a bachelorette weekend, and we couldn't help but notice how many Maple Creemee signs we passed on the way up. Well one afternoon, we decided to finally try a maple creemee. I mean, with a name like that, it can't possibly be bad, right? Well they are delicious--a real local delicacy. Imagine the creamiest maple soft serve ice cream. You can even get it drizzled with more maple syrup if that's your style, and I appreciate the hell out of it. Despite really enjoying my taste of the maple creemee magic, I was also curious about their myriad of other soft serve options, and eventually got a vanilla soft serve with peanut butter sauce, which was fantastic as well. They certainly know how to do soft serve here. It's some of the densest, creamiest, richest soft serve I've ever had. Prices were reasonable, and there were plenty of park benches outside and plenty of parking. If I'm ever in this area again, I'll definitely be back. read more

Much like previous reviews, owner is unpleasant & rude. I've been several times in last 12months, every time the same attitude. Last visit with 8 kids (read money spending....) he yelled at our whole group for climbing on the structure & standing in the mulch. Two 7yr olds climbed on step structure (begging to be climbed on so normal behavior) & no-one stood in mulch except to retrieve a ball. It was a birthday celebration that ended with 8 kids feeling scared as he spent the rest of the time staring at our group (only group on the course) from the door. The owner does not like people. I will not go back nor would I recommend a family visit as he is unpleasant & lacking understanding of children. read more

My next review! So as I have stated, my family and I exploring the beautiful state of Vermont. On one of adventures, we stopped at the Otter Creek Fun Center for a quick game of mini golf. Now, my boyfriend and I are quite competitive when it comes to mini golf, but we decided to let the boys practice, I mean play! I wish I had positive things to say. Never in my adult life have I ever felt more disrespected and rushed by an owner. he was pushy when the boys were picking out their color balls, he yelled at them for touching the Arcade games (they were not being out of control). This isn't my first off experience with this man either. I wouldn't recommend this center at all, even though we made the best of it. read more

We usually go to the Village snack bar in Rutland but seems they have down sized the items they offer. We like to get a Waffle Cone dipped in chocolate but they no longer do this. We figured we would try the Otter Creek Fun Center and we are so glad we did. This is our new place we will go to get a snack. The food is good and they have many choices. Now the ice cream on the other hand is all homemade and so delicious. If your looking for a perfect waffle cone this is your place. Always freshly hand dipped. Otter Creek has got to be the most beautiful place in the world to miniature golf! The owner was incredibly welcoming (as was his dog who is always on-site with him), and we were very impressed with how much of the course and fun center he built on his own. We got to talk to him about his future plans for the place, and will definitely be back whenever we are in Vermont! We stayed for the 18 holes of golf, and then played video games in the fun center for an hour or more afterwards. A great way to spend a day or evening in this area. Came here with my husband and 2 teenage boys. Played mini golf, arcade games, had lunch and ended our stay with fresh ice cream. The mini golf was lots of fun. The course is very well manicured and beautiful. The food was fresh and delicious. My boys said the fries were the best they ever had. The ice cream was to die for YUM!!!!! Although this arcade is small, it's well worth a visit. My friend and I were looking for an indoor activity as it was -20 outside and found this arcade on our local map. We wiled away a few hours playing games. It's a very small arcade so your options are limited, but they have some good ones, including some classics. I loved ski ball and "Deal or No Deal." Also, the staff here are all really friendly. We chatted with them for quite a while before departing. Overall, a nice afternoon spent. read more

Went in here around 4:30 in the afternoon on 8/26/17 and never had the opportunity to order anything. We are from out of state but are in Danby fairly often and had wanted to try this place for ice cream and decided to stop for a quick cone. What we encountered was the most bizarre customer service experience ever. We waited at the walk up window looking at the different flavors and options for a good ten minutes while two employees or owners? Not sure, just stared at us from inside the building. They never said a word so we thought maybe we had to go inside and order so we tried going in. There were some people inside eating food and a group of people looking at where to order but still the employees did nothing and went into the back making some kind of food. No one including us was ever acknowledged or told it would be a few minutes NOTHING. So we decided to leave. The lack of customer service here was astonishing. I don't mind waiting and even would of been willing to wait longer if they simply could of let us know it would be a few minutes or where we should even stand to be waited on. I kid you not, and after trying Maple Creemees as often as we could during our stay in Vermont, we most definitely became creemee experts. Quite honestly - very easy to do! With three sizes of Maple Creemees available, that was my toughest decision - size! The medium was huge, and most delicious! This Maple Creemee welcomes your taste buds to a generous, full Maple flavor that is sweet and Vermont Maple Rich! The ultimate REALLY creamy texture and flavor of fully creamy butterfat lets you know this is a REAL Maple Creemee! The texture is rich and smooth. There is no iciness - this is cream based goodness! Yep, with the expressive maple flavor and extra creaminess, THIS is the best Maple Creemee ever! Gifford's ice cream is also offered - with Gifford's being the best in New England! BUT, plans are in the works for the owner to take PA's ice cream college class (like Ben and Jerry did), and he's going to be making his own high quality ice cream soon! Of course the Maple Creemee will still be available too! Oh, the prices - unbelievable! For about $5, we enjoyed a medium Maple Creemee and a single scoop cone of Gifford's. Great prices for huge servings of the best! Simply THE BEST! There are also some great looking food options - for take-out as well as eating in. This is a high quality establishment - and even though we only enjoyed the creemee and ice cream, we would be back to try the burgers!!! The service is great, and the owner is friendly and likes to find out what everyone wants. Great entrepreneur! There are great entertainment opportunities here as well. A new mini-golf range that looked really nice, video games inside, and a Halloween fright zone was being built too. Birthdays and parties are advertised, and the owner has lots of great plans to make this a really fun stop and destination. Plus he's working with the local community and having it open year-round. I came in second in the group, and my Dad shot two holes in one. We celebrated with an order of the wings and a round of soft serve ice cream, which may have been the best wings I've had in years.
