The wettest and most expensive firewood I've ever paid for

Driving through the area, you see a 20ft long banner that screams "firewood", so you'd think that it would be a quick roadside stop like most firewood pickups are. Oh boy was I wrong. After 15 minutes of patiently waiting to chat to the front of house lady manning the entire place, she promptly said her husband handles the firewood. Well her husband was the only back of house staff. Clearly busy making food, it took about 10 minutes to get his time. At this point I absolutely knew deep down I should just cut my losses and move on. Mind you, I didn't. The man in the yellow shirt proceeded to get on his SxS and drive to the other side of his property to retrieve said wood. Another 10 minutes he returns parking out front. I finally go to pay for the wood, (2) bundles. It's $20, At this point I've spent 35 minutes here, I just pay it and grab the wood on my way out. Well let me tell you if this wasn't the wettest firewood I ever did overpay for, it took me about 2 cups of gasoline and all the newspaper I had to get it lit. Also, each bundle was about 4 logs. So I paid $2.50 for each wet log I got. Robbery. If you're going to have a 20ft banner for firewood; put the wood out front under a cover with a pay box. This was infuriating.

Food tastes great, staff is kind. Food and games a little pricey, but overall a great place to go with your family.

Ditto to Mrs D and Laurie S. Would never return. The owners are unfriendly and the place has a vibe that is the opposite of "fun"!

They have little pirate stories on each of the hole signs if you like to read about the history they created for this course. The prices are reasonable, the staff was friendly and it's in a great location close to downtown Lake George tourist community. I'd recommend to take your family here for a fun hour of mini golf. We all had fun!

What a fantastic golf course! My friend and I have tried just about every mini golf course within…read more90 minutes of Albany and this is one of the best. The greens are kept in perfect shape with no ruffled turf, loose bricks, piles of leaves, etc. The (very blue) waterfall was working and added ambiance. Scattered throughout the course are interesting pirate vignettes and facts, and the caves and bridges added to the experience. The course itself is a bit different from most others. Many courses add artificial challenges (sand bunkers, gravel areas, missing sidewalls near water, windmills, etc.) to make it difficult. Here, every hole is straightforward. And most of them are short. Therefore, it is best to approach it as each hole could (should?) be doable as a hole-in-one. And I got two, my friend got another two, and everyone around us was getting them. Does that mean the course is too easy? No, not at all. But, it isn't a course where you should be taking more than 2-3 putts to get it in the cup. There are no dogleg holes, etc. which add length. Some of the holes have fun twists. I won't give away the surprises, but there were several areas that led to good (and bad!) unexpected results. Play it out and you will see what I mean. The staff were friendly, and they had at least six different sized putters making it possible to get the perfect fit. The prices ($13) were certainly reasonable and comparable to other courses. It was packed on Saturday on a holiday weekend, but because the holes are so short everything kept on flowing nicely. Overall, a wonderful course.

Fore-U golf center has two 18 hole courses and a driving range. They also sort of have an ice cream place as well, it located halfway around the parking lot form the mini golf. They have a red course and a blue course, the blue course is the flatter and easier of the two, it loops all the way around the property and you get a nice view of the river. The red course is the harder of the two, it is more up and down and has the hill with the giant fake waterfall on it. Both courses were nice with some nice stone work and water features. I like the big koi pond at the end of the blue course. Both courses are in a bit of rough shape, I am not sure if that was because of how early in the year it was or if the just need some more TLC in general. None of the tuft was ripped, but it was pretty dirty in places. The guy working the register was wonderful, he reminded me of my grandpa. The price for the mini golf was not bad, $7 per adult and only $3 more to play both courses. I did not use the driving range, but it looked pretty nice and there were plenty of people using it. Overall a good place for 18 or 36 holes of mini golf, but it could use a good spring cleaning.

For some reason I feel like I just wrote a review of Pirates Cove mini golf, that's right I Did,…read morebecause I played the other location just up the road. There are 2 Pirates cove locations in the greater lake George region, this one has 2 18 hole courses, the other only has one course. Pirates Cove has 2 18 hole park style course, think bigger greens with more elevation changes than obstacles to avoid, so it is slightly different than the other courses in the area. The course here are well themed, well landscaped, and in great condition. All of the courses make use of elevation changes, the water features and even the existing trees at this location. Because of these trees there is plenty of shade even on sunny days. They even have a hole on a big pirate ship. The only down side to this location is some of the holes are repeated at many mini golf courses. You will definitely have already played some of the holes you will play here. So it is not as unique as some of the other area courses. Overall of the 2 Pirates Cove locations in the area this would be my recommendation of the location to play, I think that the course at the other one is better, but because this spot has 2 I would rather play here. Either way you can not go wrong.
