Cake is overly sweet. Never thought that was possible for a cake to be made with more icing than actual cake. At first it looks like a normal cake, once you slice it, it's cake crumbs on the inside. Frozen icing. Basically I served more icing at the party than actual cake. When I came in to pick up my order the staff was confused. I told that there's no order. Just found my new favorite bakery in North Miami! I just got married and was unfortunately so busy I didn't get to eat much of my own wedding cake which I was so excited for. So I wanted to order a very simple cake with the same flavor I chose for my wedding - almond. Turns out this is a hard thing to request at many bakeries (I must have called 20 places) But Pastry Is Art was so responsive and by far the most accommodating. They made my cake SAME DAY. Not only that, it was affordable, very professionally done, and so delicious - my husband says it tasted better than our actual wedding cake. I will be ordering all of my desserts from here! Yummy tarts! Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick snack. The apple tart was rich and fruity. They have a full espresso bar as well if you need a dose of caffeine. The menu is nicely priced. While I was there several cakes were prepared for pick up and one of them was labeled Bluey so whoever had that birthday I hope it was fantastic!!! Years ago I had cakes made for my sons' communions, then last year for my son and nieces' graduation, and finally last week for my son's wedding. The cakes are absolutely beautiful and very well made. The bakery makes any cake I want from any picture I take. Not only are they beautiful but they are insanely delicious, moist, and so flavorful. Every cake I ordered exceeded my expectations. The latest cake was the pinkish wedding cake that was made with beautiful fresh flowers even better than the picture I provided. The guests were completely obsessed with the taste and kept asking me where I had it made. They have a variety of fillings and flavors to choose from as well as sizes. I did not know the business allowed patrons to place custom cake orders. If i had known, I would have made one for the recent birthday celebration we had. However, nonetheless, the cake was a beautiful birthday surprise for the birthday girl. I ordered off their website which was very simple and easy to use, very straightforward. On the day of the pick up order, it was ready before my pick up time which I really appreciate that because I would have had to wait a long time, aimlessly trying to past time. The ladies that were serving me were super nice and I mistakenly gave the wrong name, but they were very courteous about it. The bakery is quite small, but it was very clean and the displays of all their baked goods had me salivating. On the night of the party, everyone complimented the cake. It was very spongey, not dry and not too sweet at all. Imagine, I was buying a cake for people who have diabetes and people who prefer desserts that were not too sweet and they even said it was good. As one of them put it, it was a "cake that you had one bite of and you would definitely go for seconds even after eating a buffet". I would definitely recommend this pastry shop festivities and celebrations! I have been a costumer of this place since it reopen , the food they sale is great , the deserts delicious and the cakes that we usually order fir special events are always amazing. The ladies are usually really nice and joyful but today a new girl took care of us and she was super extra rude , is the first time I see her at the shop , she was Colombian and had glasses , I know because I'm Colombian myself , she got upset cause I asked her to do me the favor of giving me another little paper bag because she put 2 sandwiches 1 little bag and it wasn't convenient for us to eat it on the go that way. As for the food itself, this photo is of what was supposed to be a "turkey club", but lacked tomato, mayonnaise, bread that isn't soggy, and well... turkey. When I returned to ask for my money back, I was told they couldn't refund me because I used a credit card to buy the lunch for my 5 employees (never heard that before), and then was told they couldn't give me back cash either and that the manager would call me the next day to sort this out. When you walk in, there are a few tables where you can eat inside, and there's a few cases of amazing looking sweets along with a variety of South American pastries. I chose the lunch special - $9.50 for a half sandwich and soup or salad. I chose the Pastry is Art Signature Sandwich (chicken salad with peaches, pecans, and brie cheese) and it was absolutely amazing! I've never had peaches with chicken salad, but the flavor combination was really good! For the half salad, you can choose from a house or Caesar salad and I opted for the house and it was really good as well. The lunch special also comes with a free mini dessert and I chose the key lime pie shot and it was also very good. Service, the food, and the atmosphere was amazing! This has become by go-to for cakes, the cakes are really good and the prices are great! I always call last minute to bring a cake to a party or something and they somehow always accomodate me which is such a relief! Sometimes I call late and they just let me know what they have left so I can pass by and pick up. Really convenient and nice. Now as far as eating there, I probably wouldn't. It doesn't feel really nice or inviting inside, its more of a pick up spot for me and when ive seen tables it seems to take a super long time. Plus the inside is a bit of a mess. This place JUST opened up inside gulfstream park & being that I work here, we were excited to finally have an affordable delicious lunch spot within walkable distance (since everything we usually need to pay sooo much money for in delivery & fees). This sandwich is amazing! Their lunch special is half a sandwich (really a full portion), and a soup or salad - weekends it's only a salad option. Their lemon dressing is so good on their house salad! I truly enjoyed this lunch so much. The sandwich has caramelized pecans, peaches, chicken salad on a ciabatta bread. So satisfied.
