I went to Night Owl last night with my date around 11:30 p.m., maybe closer to midnight. I asked the lady at the register what kind of ice cream they had, and she said they didn't have any. That was fine with me, so I didn't order anything, but my date got the Dirty Diana Cookie. The lady at the register wasn't rude, but she also wasn't very friendly -- it felt like we were bothering her just by being there. I didn't mention it at first, but when I asked my date if she wanted to eat inside, she said no because she felt the same unfriendly vibe. I've been tempted to try this place for a while now, but I rarely get a sweet tooth. Inside was very clean and the decor was simple and to the point. I wanted to try the chocolate chip and the cookies and cream. When I got there to order, I ended up changing my mind to the chocolate chip and brookie cookies. The young man that took my order was very helpful and professional. I told him I didn't want anything that was overly chocolatey and he somewhat warned me that the chocolate chip was, but I still ordered it. I regret that. The brookie is a nice blend between a cookie and a brownie, and it went well with milk. I couldn't eat the chocolate chip cookie though. It was way too much chocolate chip. I'm sure there are many people who love it because it was one of the popular options. I hope to try more of their cookie flavors soon. read more

Ironically night owl locations are quite cookie cutter looking. Sprinkle tables and what I consider a weird display of their current cookies. Then they go in the very cemented off back and produce your order. What are they hiding back there?!! I like that they have seasonal as well as some classics. I hate to admit, I never found these mind blowing for a specialty cookie shop. Did an impromptu order for the Dirty Diana, Ave Maria, and Chocolate Chip cookies, and was not disappointed. The guava flavor of the Ave Maria pairs well with the chocolatey goodness of the others, and has a nice sweet buttery bite to it. I've gone to the Night Owl Cookies location in the Miami Design District but was so happy to see a location open up closer to our home recently! The North Miami location is located at 135th and Biscayne Blvd (in the Mr. Fresh/Starbucks shopping center.. just a couple of businesses to the left of Starbucks). We had dinner in the area and wanted to grab a cookie for dessert. There were a few customers in line before us and the employee moved the line quickly. We ordered the Strawberry Milkshake cookie (a limited time offering), including a Strawberry milk for $4.25. I would love for the Strawberry Milkshake cookie to be offered all the time- it was AMAZING and probably one of my favorite cookies on the menu! All cookies in the store were between $4-5 each on average and the cookies take a few minutes to be prepared as each cookie is served warm. There were somewhere between 5-10 tables in the restaurant but we took ours home and warmed them up in the microwave and enjoyed them later. Deandre helped me and my boyfriend out, and he was very kind. We appreciated his help in selecting cookies. Since we had gone later at night and close to closing time, there were a few cookies sold out but we were still able to get a good selection. We went with the Oreo brownie cheesecake, chocolate chip, and the Twix cookie. They were all so good! And I know chocolate chip is simple but I loved it.
