Came here with my daughter's 6th grade class as one of the chaperones. We all had a wonderful time, since the moment we arrived at the camp site and were greeted and welcomed by Fawn, then we were given orientation by Ranger Ryan the coordinator. We were told from the beginning what was expected from us and how busy we were going to be because all of the fun activities we will be doing since early in the morning. All of the kids enjoyed the stay very much, the instructors/naturalists were amazing with the kids and I loved how they explained things to the kids and how they were respectful towards the kids as well. The food was AMAZING!! Our bungalow was very clean also. We loved all of the meals! The food was wonderful. This is a great camp, beautiful place and the staff is so aweso, all of the people we came across were fabulous, helpful and always with a smile on their faces. My daughter did not want to leave the camp. We made beautiful memories there. Thank you all at Pathfinder for doing such a great job.

I loved this place my child and I attended with a school I was so vary impressed with the staff. My children do not interact much with other kids, at pathfinders they got the opportunity to meet other children and look into there world as some children problem solved and others just looked around. I could see the sparkle in there eyes and others seem to forget a hard life at home, but for a couple days they all played and learned togthere as some forgot they had disabilities as the staff treated everyone the same.

They have a bed bug infestation and only tell you after they have exposed your child and they were bitten terribly!!

Shout out to Beatrice for being awesome with the kids! -2 stars for the bathroom/shower situations. It doesn't sound like there are many bathrooms for the amount of kids there. She mentioned some being clogged and feeling rushed due to several others needing to use the bathrooms. There were so many activities that she felt like there weren't many breaks to use the bathroom. In her dorm there were only 2 bathrooms/showers. They got back late after 9pm and rushed to squeeze people through to shower. People were barging in having to use the bathroom as others showered. Apparently the shower curtain was so minimal, another girl used an extra bed sheet to help create privacy, which all the girls appreciated. Maybe add a couple port-a-potties?! Might be wrong, but also sounded like not many trustworthy sources for water and hydration outside of meal time.

We had a small wedding (about 75 guests) with a lot of young kids and babies. I could not be happier with Nawakwa as a wedding venue. The entire camp is gorgeous, as are the surrounding woods and mountains, and the ceremony site in particular was breathtaking - the photographer couldn't get enough pictures of everything. Even more important, the entire staff was tremendously kind, helpful, and friendly, from the manager Patrick ("Puzzle") to everyone who prepared our meals, ran the programs, and generally kept the camp running. Our guests couldn't say enough good things about the entire weekend. We live two hours away in Los Angeles so we weren't able to make frequent trips to Nawakwa before the wedding to see to things in person, but Patrick was extremely accommodating and communicative over phone and email so we were able to have everything in place even though we were planning at a distance. I absolutely recommend Nawakwa to anyone looking for a beautiful, rustic wedding venue that's also very family-friendly. (I'll add photos once they come back from the photographer.)

The campers and staff receive three generous meals a day. The activities prepared for the campers are challenging and exciting. I think the best part of this camp is the focus on Jesus. Everywhere the campers go, play, and eat campers are learning about Jesus. This is a great place to bring your child. The actual site of the camp is on the website. I value that the school follows a set curriculum and that my daughters are also learning Spanish. The structure is wonderful, and I appreciate how their learning at school reinforces the values and teachings we focus on at home. In full transparency, the beginning was a bit challenging. Since my girls were only two at enrollment, they were frequently sick during the first six months and missed quite a bit of school, which required me to rely heavily on my mother-in-law during that time. I also felt that the two-year-old classroom experienced a higher level of staff turnover, making it difficult to keep track of who their teachers were. That said, now that my daughters are older, there is much more stability in their current classroom, and they are truly thriving. Overall, I am very happy with the school and the growth I have seen in my girls. Special shout out to the amazing Miss Nay and Miss Tiffany! My girls adore you!

Was this going to be summer camp with bugs, dirty rooms, etc? It wasn't. At all. The dorms are awesome! 2 bunks (4 beds) in each alcove with curtains and a large middle common area with two diagonal bathrooms (shower, two sinks and a toilet with full walls and a lock.) I had room for my family of 6 plus my grandma and my sister and her husband. The beds were queen or full on the bottom and twins on top. The mattresses are hard and thin but not too bad. They are covered in a plastic/vinyl so no bugs or anything. The walk in showers were hot! The big common building was really nice as well. It has a huge cafeteria and a large room where we held our after-wedding party. The bathrooms are nice and large enough for our large party. The lake in the middle has a dock and my kids and some of the other nephews all played around it. It is also beautiful. I lived in Anza/Aguanga for middle and high school and this is a lot prettier. Huge trees and mountains all around. Gorgeous place for a wedding. At night, we had fire pits with pre-stocked wood that was restocked every morning. We stayed up super late catching up with family and had a great time. I'd definitely recommend renting this place out for a wedding or family get together. It was great.
