Just a busy place have drove by never stopped we were at rec center (pool, 3 slides, diving board area, and logs with a rope netting above the kids all loved that best also a big kiddy pool area can bring in coolers, food, nice area get their early for shade) in Blanding Utah called ahead to get our order to go asked for cheeseburger fries and drink $10.00 with tax about she said they had a bacon cheeseburger small fries and small drink for $5.00 yeah we'll take 4 and 2 kids meals which got a free ice cream cone. Great little place for a tasty burger and fries. After a 3 day climbing event at Indian Creek and camping, this was needed. Friendly service and very fast! My only gripe was I ordered an ice cream cone for after my meal but they brought out before my meal. First world problems I know. But just make sure you're clear if you want the same. We got the Southwestern Chicken and the Big B Burger with fries, onion rings and a shake. The fries were good and the onion rings were excellent. Stopped here after a long backpacking trip and it was delicious! The burgers were thick but not too greasy, and I was pleasantly surprised with the thickness and quality of the bacon. It was well worth the money I spent I feel. The fries were pretty average handcut fries, but we all know they're just an addition item, not the main course. But now let me rant about this places crowning glory. The shakes are AMAZEBALLS. I had a strawberry one and it was the equivalent of sinking into a world of wonder and happiness where nothing can harm you and your one job is to indulge yourself. I have no idea what they put in them, but it was so good. It seemed much creamier than soft serve. Really really tasty and a good portion. A+ The staff was also friendly and the store was clean. Even though Patio Drive-In was voted third best in the state of Utah, but down in the Southeastern corner of Utah; it is rated number one. The shop is small with booths lining the front and one side of the interior; the drive thru is around the back and it's not unusual to see a line of vehicles parked along the side of the road waiting their turn. It's an old fashioned type of "burger joint", and the food is what makes it stand apart. Each order is made fresh, no heat lamps keeping hockey puck patties warm; the shakes are hand crafted also and the sizes available (small, medium, large) are much larger than you'll think (small=medium, medium=large, large="how am I going to finish this!!!") Patio Drive-In is open only six days a week (currently 10:30am to 9pm); they're closed on Sundays which is a big disadvantage to them during tourist season, and a large disappointment to locals and tourists alike. Whether you eat in, sit outside at one of their patio tables, or take a "to-go" meal to enjoy elsewhere; the menu will have something you'll enjoy. Three of us went there after the lunch rush and our meals only took about 15 minutes to get to us; piping hot and looking awesomely delicious. When Patio Drive-In is busy, allow at least 30 minutes to get your meal; yes! they get that busy and remember, the food is made fresh. You can always call their number, place an order and then pick it up if you don't want to wait. The burgers are large, thick, nicely seasoned, juicy and delicious. While you can order a burger or sandwich by itself, your best bet is the basket which comes with French fries and a drink. The fries are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and lightly salted, so that potato taste comes through clear. Of course you'll get a little container of "fry sauce"; it's a Utah thing and you have to try it out. Like Philly Cheese Steak, then try out the Chicken Philly. This is not pressed, thin sheets of chicken; it's chunks of grilled chicken with strips of green bell pepper and red onion. The cheese is melted onto the toasted roll with the chicken and veggies piled on top. It is slightly salty, but it brings all the flavors of the other ingredients together so well. This is one of my favorites from Patio, and I'm hard pressed to choose anything else when I go there. Last, but certainly not least, the Grilled Ham and Cheese; served between slices of thick, toasted bread with a nice serving of ham that gives you full flavor without overpowering the cheese. This is an adult grilled cheese that even a child would enjoy. Whether you're on your way to a park or historical site, and need a picnic meal; looking for a lunch or dinner and live in the area; looking for great, old fashioned "drive-in" food, then Patio Drive-In is the place you're looking for when in the Blanding, Utah area. read more

Seriously was in shock to see that when they had added Guacamole to my Classic B - Bacon cheeseburger and when I had told them that I only asked for a bacon cheeseburger they took 5 minutes to scrape off the Guacamole. What kind of a restaurant does that? Update: Manager got in touch with me and helped with the situation. Came back a month later and been back a few times since. My husband ordered first choice Big B Berger and he loved it. I ordered Bacon Guacamole Burger and it tasted beyond my expectation. The meat patty was cooked perfectly. on our drive through Blanding we stopped at the Patio for some refreshments. I ordered a small shake but it was way past small with the contents piled past the top and then topped with whipped cream. The spoon stood upright so it was definitely a thick shake. Very delish. The wait was a bit long for ordering a couple of milk shakes and one order of fries. It looked like there was only one person working the walk-up window as well as the drive-up. the homemade fries were great. The guy at the counter should not be allowed to take orders - he has no idea of what is on the menu and can't answer simple questions - like 'what is the difference between a regular burger and the Big D burger'. He entered our order wrong. Good thing I looked at the receipt before it was delivered. The staff was too busy entertaining each other with no timeto clean up the place. It was filthy. I had a burger basket and my wife had the BBQ chicken wrap. The burger was OK but I've had better at many other places. The chicken wrap was very overpriced and only OK. The fries were good, but I don't think they were made from fresh potatoes as another review implied. read more

A good restaurant for pitstopping. Like the window says, while it looks like a fast food joint, it really isn't. I had the chef salad, which had romaine lettuce, pecans, canned mandarin oranges, and cranberries. I had the vinaigrette on the side which was nice and sweet. Good and plentiful. Also tried the grilled chicken panini which also pretty tasty. Tater tots and fries pretty standard. I felt prices were about a dollar or two more than they should have been. I didn't get to try their ice cream, but it was tempting considering they have many flavors. Traditional flavors and candy bars. read more

This is a small town hidden gem. We were in town for a family reunion and decided to ditch the family reunion dinner of sandwiches to try this. It was worth it! The shakes were delicious with a good sized helping of mix-ins. We had onion rings that were very crispy and tasty. The actual meal was also delicious. We had the veggie panini, and while I generally love a good burger, I was amazed at how tasty this was. This place is not fast food, but the food was made to order and came out without too long of a wait. If you are ever passing through Blanding, you need to stop here. read more

We stopped at 9:15pm on a Fri night, technically 15 minutes after closing time. The owners and employees of this place were amazing. Not only did they not turn us away, they welcomed us and gave us some of the best service I've ever experienced. We ordered 4 Big B's (burgers), a Houston, and a cheddar melt...some of the best burgers we've ever had. To top it off, the chocolate malt was excellent and the curly fries and homemade onion rings were to die for. Needless to say, we will plan our trips now on to include a stop at the Patio Drive-in. Every time I come through town I make sure I stop here. The best shakes in hundreds of miles, possibly beyond. The burgers are soul food, as in your soul is healed after an awesome burger and a shake. This is a place my mind associates with LP vacation and living the good life.
