Doesn't housekeeping notice and report anything? Also biggest complaint, the "King Suite" has a micro closet, made worse by the dresser being only about 18" high with 4 mini drawers. It didn't even hold the contents of 1 medium suitcase. So we had to live out of the suitcases like camping. It's not like there wasn't room for a full height dresser. I guess Marriott saved $19 on the particleboard full size. Someone tell corporate that customers notice inconveniences. Bending to floor level is ridiculous.

Not sure why employees / management can't find and address or prevent guests from dealing with them but there definitely needs to be some protocols in place that prevents the guest being inconvenienced by all theses issues when the company is being paid premium rates. I'll need a really good experience from Marriott before they'll get the benefit of the doubt and or my trust again. So

The staff is extra friendly and we really enjoyed the accommodations James ( who we happened to meet on Friday night) got ice for us. The ice machine on the third floor was broken so he ran down to the bar and brought us ice! This was so nice and considerate! We also appreciated Kandi at the coffee bar. She was so helpful and had a line of customers and yet still kept her composure and was super friendly! The hotel room was super clean and the beds were so comfortable! The only reason that I didn't give this place another star is, 1) I would have like a bath mat in the shower. ( I'm getting old ) and 2) the carpet in the halls on the third floor need some updating. Actually the place in general could use a little facelift. We loved sitting outside at night looking at the moon reflecting off the lake. The staff here (even at the restaurant ) we're all so nice! I will come back again next visit through this area

They were playing indoors tonight, as they have in the past. Tonight they were told to leave because someone complained they were too loud. Hello, it's a live band, so it's going to be loud. And Oakwood knew that because they have hired this band to play here many times before. By the way, the sound was fine. We will see the band elsewhere. They're all over the local area!! We don't have to pay high prices for just ok food. By the way, our server (Taylor R) was excellent!! Will not return (without this band).

On the positive side, our room was clean, and we felt safe during our stay. However, as a previous…read morereviewer mentioned, this place used to be very nice but has now fallen into disrepair. The elevator was out of order, but fortunately, we were on the first floor. The hallways were humid and smelled musty, and our room also had a musty odor. We even noticed mildew on the ceiling. Aside from that, the room was clean. Unfortunately, our toilet wouldn't flush. I had to lift the lid and unstick the plastic valve several times. The shower fixtures were rusty as well. When I visited the fitness room, I found that one of the treadmills was out of service, and the one I ended up using had a broken speed button. The staff was friendly and responsive. They fixed the toilet while we were away, but it was temporary. The old, plastic fixtures in the tank repeatedly stick. The place needs renovating

Our room did not have any hot water in the showers, and our fridge, television, and microwave also did not work for most of our stay. The toilet would not stop running, the game room, and bathroom were not clean, and the hit tub was closed for maintenance. Upon approaching the pool area, a resident of the hotel recommended us not to swim in the pool because it had not been cleaned in a long time. No pop vending machines were plugged in, stains on the sheets, and the front elevator was broken. The receptionist was nice though. Maybe if the fixed these things and cleaned more often it would be nicer.

You would think with the available space, management would space guests out to avoid this kind of thing happening. Breakfast was limited because of Covid, so I can't commit on that. Internet was free (Honors member) and fast. I would give this property another try.

Staff is friendly and answered all our questions and sent up our extra pillows and blankets when we called down for some in a timely manner. The room was a good size with plenty of space to walk around the beds. The beds were really comfy as well as the pillows being firmer. I would have slept great if it weren't for hearing every single door open and close on our hall. Or hearing the people next to us talking at all hours or hearing people I. The hall till midnight. Needless to say the walls are thin. The bathroom was cleanish and the shower had great water pressure and hot water. Plenty of toiletries for two people to use and wash their hair as well. Nice bath towels. They weren't to thin or stiff. Breakfast was typical hot breakfast and my kids love making their own waffles. Extremely close to the wagon wheel and shopping and places to eat. Not sure if stay again due to the thin walls and lack of sleep but if it weren't for that I'd def stay again. Easy to access and so close to so many things.

Upshot is - I think this is a good place and we're very likely to stay here again the next time we're in the Peru, IN area. The hotel is welcoming with a bright, open lobby, good, safe parking and friendly, helpful staff. The lobby was clean and featured a lot of conveniences for which snootier places would charge. Breakfast, as others have mentioned, was a real treat and Nicole was a whirling peach helping everyone out while evincing friendly interest in all guests. Our room was perhaps less perfectly clean than it might have been (either a large white-haired dog or a polar bear had recently been housed there, and housekeeping's noble struggles to mop up all the residue weren't 100% successful) and the bathtub drain was slow and allowed water to pool around my ankles during just a quick shower. Here's the thing, though: we were headed to a wedding shortly after we arrived and were only there for one night. I'm CERTAIN that if I'd mentioned these issues to the folks at the front desk, they would have been rectified tout suite. I didn't, though, because I didn't have the time. (I mentioned them in response to a "How Were Things?" email from management - hey, and that email itself is a great sign, eh? - and got a royal apology and a promise to jump on fixes.) And other family members staying at the Best Western Circus City Inn had nothing but high praise for the cleanliness and functionality of their quarters. Ours was just bad luck - what are you gonna do? It happens. So, while _our_ experience was maybe a little flawed, I think that was unusual and the hotel itself is a solidly good place to stay in Peru.
