The front office is pretty much incompetent. The idea that someone can show up 20 minutes late and go straight to see the doctor makes absolutely zero sense. No point in showing up early or even on time. This place doesn't care about your time. I had an appointment at 10:20 my son waited until 11:50 to be helped. This isn't the first time, this isn't the second time, what's even more frustrating is that it isn't the third time this has happened to us. Oddly I've been trying to justify it as this isn't a reflection on the Dr. Let this review remind you to bring your work computer or lunch while you wait from the front office to prioritize those individuals who show up late. First off, everything is done efficiently and thoroughly, and they are very flexible. Dr. Turley really knows his stuff and made a very good treatment plan. My child had a quite complicated case, but Dr. Turley's treatment plan worked perfectly without surgeries or implants! Thank you so much, Dr. Turley! I rarely write yelp reviews but this time it is important. I have 3 boys spread out in age and all three have been treated by Dr. Turley. We had employee access to the USC dental program for the youngest which is where we wasted 1 year turning into giant orthodontic failure. Dr. Turley took over and after years of treatment with a very difficult case my son has left with a perfect smile, not to mention a healthy functioning jaw. With three kids who endured braces this doctor and the whole practice is how all doctors offices should be -- Experienced, professional, flexible appts, organized, efficient and friendly staff, clean, free parking, up-to-date equipment -- an overall excellent medical group!!! All three of my daughters had braces. We switched orthodontist practices mid-treatment of my second child when she required major facial surgery to resolve unrelated breathing issues. Dr. Turley thoroughly examined my daughter and xrays, consulted with other doctors and came up with a long term plan divided into phases he was willing to try to avoid the skull and jaw operation. His aggressive yet cautious approach with braces worked to realign her teeth and jaw and we avoided surgery!!! This practice sees patients of all ages from toddlers to adults. In the initial consultation we met the business manager Andrea and she's very knowledgable of procedures and explained the cost and treatment. She helped with insurance-related questions and created payment plans that worked for my family. All the assistants who worked on my daughters are gentle, skilled and made effort to keep patients comfortable in the chair. We didn't see Dr. Patricia (wife and dentist in same practice) but I noticed young kids were always excited to visit the dentist. The waiting room is kid heaven stocked with play center, magazines and television playing the Disney Classics. I actually enjoyed my quiet moments reading current magazines. The office decor is cheerful, fun and surf-themed. And the office celebrated each time my kids' braces came off with a song and gift. I would of posted the adorable videos however my daughters didn't give me permission. When it was time for my third daughter to start braces (normal teeth straightening) I had the opportunity to return to a doctor close to home. Friends ask why I drive all the way to Manhattan Beach -- once learned best route and appt times to beat traffic I told them Dr. Patrick's work is top-notch and service is well worth the drive. I have been taking my toddler there since he was 2 (he is 3.5 now) and have always had a gray experience. Waiting area is very kid friendly and i actually have to pull him away when its time to get the teeth cleaned. don't think we ever waited more than 10 minutes. They understand what a struggle this visit can be so they are prepared with flatscreen TVs in each room so the child is entertained/distracted during the cleaning. Dr. Turley has a very sweet demeanor and both her and her technicians are very quick. The treasure chest at the end of the visit is also a hit. first couple visits where tough but they have definitely gotten easier as he gets older and remembers the pleasant experience. read more

I visited Dr. Turley in 2015 due to prominence of right upper canine root breaking through bone causing gum tissue pain and sinus allergies that gradually appeared during 2 previous orthodontic works, especially the later one between 2002 and 2004 by other dentists. A perfect upper molar was removed in the earlier works to match a long extracted lower molar by closing both upper and lower gaps on left side without implant that initiated the problem. My sinus was under physical irritation by damaged root bones, tearing and opening tissue to cause inflammation, constant sneezing and running nose. Even the most experienced orthodontist may not recognize that himself had accepted a tough case at the beginning, i.e. to clean up a critical situation by realigning teeth and making beautiful smile. I diligently spent 3 to 4 hours in traffic almost every month in the past 4 years (was initially estimated 13 months) to visit him, in order to have my problem resolved. He patiently carefully tried all possibilities to fix my issues till my satisfaction. Dr. Turley, the Teeth Wizard, not only let teeth move, dance and align under his magic wand, but he also leads an amazing team of skilled assistants to perform his symphony orchestra. His office is full of summer surfing breezes, relax, and fun environment for adults and kids. Superior high standards are maintained in all aspects of practice, such as scheduling, sanitation, cross-contamination prevention, and comfortable level. I'd like to thank Dr. Turley, his wife and all amazing assistants (especially Lora, Judith, Janet) for taking care of my and my daughters' cases. I had braces when I was younger and as I got older and forgot to wear my retainer, a couple of my teeth shifted and it really bothered me. It was something I had wanted to fix for a while. I went to Dr. Turley six months before my wedding and asked if he could help me get the smile I wanted for my big day. He felt the fastest and most effective way to do that was to get braces. I was not too excited to have adult braces, but I got the ceramic ones so they were less noticeable, and he kept true to his word that I would get them off before my wedding. Two weeks before the big day, the braces got taken off, and the results were exactly what I wanted. I had my "perfect" smile back! Dr. Turley and his staff are always professional and are very kind. I was recommended to go here by a friend, so I can't say for sure if the price is the best out there, but I can say that the service is wonderful and I felt worth it for me. read more
