I had a very disappointing experience with Patriot Air. The technician came to diagnose my AC and recommended replacing the condenser fan motor. When I asked if he could offer a better price, the conversation became very unprofessional, and I ultimately paid for his service-call time. After he left, another HVAC company inspected the system. Their written service report states that they found the condenser fan motor disassembled, wiring cut, the fan blade left on top of the unit, and the electrical disconnect missing. They searched the surrounding areas but could not locate the disconnect. I had to pay another company to replace the motor and disconnect and restore the AC. The original technician also confirmed to me by text, "I cut the fan wires to replace the motor." I have kept the invoices, photos, and text messages documenting my experience. Based on my experience, I would not use this company again. read more

Let me start off by saying that I'm absolutely blown away how knowledgeable, reliable, and dedicated Eric and his team are. I had a new AC unit installed today after putting my 20 year old unit through the ringer. Eric and his team were on time, installed the unit, and had the new thermostat installed in less than 3 hours. Mind you, it could've been done in literally half the time because we were waiting on a crane for an hour and a half (not Erics fault). No biggie! He got everything set up and went over all technical specs on the new unit and the thermostat. Let me tell you, this is the best experience I've ever had with a home improvement project. I am a property manager for a customer of this company's and Eric-the owner, was so very rude and arrogant when I called to confirm a time to service the unit under warranty. Needing to let the tenants know a time, he told me I was irrelevant and he did not need to coordinate a service time with me. He then hung up the phone. There is no time scheduled and I have no idea if he's going to honor the warranty the owner has. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Just want to shout out Christa, the dispatcher and Dave the repairman for getting my home back to livable temperatures! We had 2 other companies come out who aren't able to diagnose the issue. patriot air came out and realized the issue was our multi-room panel in the attic causing our A/C to misfire when trying to kick on the unit. They showed me what parts to buy on Amazon to save me several hundred dollars and a couple weeks waiting for parts. 5/5 would recommend the patriot air to anyone in need of complex AC diagnosis and repairs! read more

Had them over to give me an estimate on installing a new ac unit. They were very critical of the ac already installed, and critical of the ac I wanted to install. They seemed to have an attitude - a "chip on their shoulder(s)" so to speak. They were just plain rude. Even though I told them I had already selected the new ac unit, they continued to criticize it and instead promoted a cheap Chinese ac available on Amazon. Of course, they expected I would purchase it through them. They never did get me a quote - I guess it's just as well. If you are just scanning reviews and don't want to read my novel here's a summary: I highly recommend Patriot based on my experience with them. I read reviews as I always do in looking to hire someone to service/fix something in our home. You usually see a mix of happy and unsatisfied reviewers for most service business and there's always two sides to the "story". In reading the lesser reviews for this company it seemed as though they were isolated incidents. The owner for Patriot often chimes into defend his companies work and/or give their side of the situation which I liked. I took a gamble and used Patriot to figure out what was going with my HVAC until (it had stopped putting out heat right when it started getting cold this winter). The Patriot tech came out, was very thorough giving me the same prognosis as another company I'd had come out as well. The difference for me with Patriot was the thoroughness on the techs end to make sure this was the issue (which was the unit needed replacement) he outlined all options and was very careful to not just dump the bad news on me that we were about to need to spend some money. They worked with me on the replacement, gave me what I found to be a very competitive price on the new unit and were able to have it in within 48 hours of us pulling the trigger. Beyond just replacing the unit, both the tech and the owner spent a bunch of extra time attempting to help me find the cause of a squeaking noise in my ducts. In the end they were able to isolate where the issue might be but couldn't get to it without cutting into ceilings and walls. The point is they took the time and really tried to fix something that wasn't part of the job they were hired for. We had an issue about a week later with the unit and our Nest thermostat not communicating. I called Patriot and they were here first thing the next day to fix the issue along with an apology for the hassle. I have to say from the initial visit/estimate to the follow up on the thermostat, these guys were true professionals, friendly, and cared about the work they were doing. He was professional and upfront about the repair vs replacement options. He walked me through the entire process and breakout of the costs. To give you the Cliff Notes: Eric at Patriot air was OUTSTANDING. Fast response, more than helpful, and provided an EXCELLENT price for the SAME unit others wanted thousands more to install. We liked his service so much we recommended him to our neighbors 2 weeks later, and they say he duplicated his exemplary service at their place. THE LONG VERSION: Our existing HVAC needed expensive repairs, and it still used the discontinued R22 refrigerant that is VERY expensive now, so we decided to replace our 24 year old unit with a new one. We solicited 5 bids from local HVAC contractors provided by Angi (formerly Angie's List). We interviewed them all, and they all provided proposals for replacement. Eric from Patriot Air stopped by and did a thorough evaluation of our system, and during the Free Estimate process made a few changes in our system FREE that would have prolonged our ability to use our OLD system longer! He did not try to sell us anything we didn't need, but since we plan to sell our town home in the next year, we decided to replace our unit anyway as having even a working 24 year old HVAC is not a selling point! He gave us an honest evaluation of exactly what unit would be optimal for our home, and his Estime was within $100 of the cheapest one we got (that was incomplete and given over the phone). Eric's estimate was $2200 LESS than the average estimate and $5000 LESS than the highest estimate for the SAME EXACT BRAND AND MODEL unit (A Trane/American Standard unit), and offered to repair the condensation lines for our 3 unit building without even being asked. Eric and his crew coordinated with our schedule and showed up exactly on time, and had our unit ready for removal and installation by the needed crane unit without missing a beat. When the job was done, he performed a systems test to make sure all was right and before leaving actually took the time to clean our roof, and our area they used to access our roof. Two weeks later, our neighbor's HVAC unit quit altogether, and we recommended Patriot Air, whom they chose to do the work, and our neighbors were equally delighted with the service received from Eric. One note regarding Eric himself. He is NOT a salesman (the other estimates were provided by slick salesmen who were good a wanting to be our friends, but who only offered lower rates when it was made obvious they were HIGH. Eric is a working guy running his own company and he's a down-to-earth guy who was upfront and immediately offered his best price right off the bat without having to negotiate. No phone call ! There were lots of excuses about confusion... and no apologies, or attempts to make things right. It pains me to my core to write a negative review. My husband obviously did not read reviews before he called Eric because they were dead on "rude" "mean" "nasty" My experience with Eric the owner is that he is unprofessional, vile, disrespectful, and a downright cruel human being. I tried to pass his behavior off the first day to heat but 2 days of verbal abuse toward a customer I will not excuse. Honestly how he stays in business is a mystery to me. I met David briefly he either works with or for him. He is a wonderful human being and it's too bad I didn't work with him the whole time. Perhaps he'd be better off having David interact with customers. As far as his work goes I have no idea he came out a month ago charged me for looking at my ac saying nothing was wrong then when it broke down again a couple weeks later he verbally attacked me 2 days in a row. I'm not giving him another dime and would not recommend you do either. I know he will again attack me on this review as I have now seen him attack numerous prior customers after they left their reviews. Oh well doing my part to help out my fellow man. Eric was very accommodating and friendly to me. I don't understand how people would say he's rude. I'm new to the area and approached him at Dunkin Donuts. He willingly answered my questions and was very friendly. He installed two WiFi thermostats for me that day. His price was great. He was extremely neat and thorough with his work which is of utmost importance to me as I'm heavily touched with OCD. He checked both thermostats and ran the units to make sure they worked, it was very apparent he knew his job well. I will be using him in the future. I couldn't be happier and would recommend. Our ac stopped blowing cold air in the middle of AZ summer, put in call to Old Republic to fix. Summit Breeze was contacted at 7:45am, we were told they would call back in few hours. Over 7 hours later, no call and no one to answer their phones. Called home warranty back, this time Patriot Air was requested. Krista was quick to respond; she called her manager Eric to get someone out asap since we had been without air for so long and Summit Breeze dropped the ball. Eric came out within 30 mins and diagnosed/ resolved the ac issue. Prompt reliable service, only area he might improve, to clean hands before touching inside thermostat. I apologize in advance that this has taken me so long to write this review, but I truly need to recognize Patriot Air for all their help, especially the owner. First off they were very responsive in getting in touch with me about getting a time scheduled to come out and diagnose the issue with my AC unit at my town home. My home warranty company, whom I will not reference anymore than needs be in this review because they were the problem in this whole experience, got me in touch with Patriot and they were out same day. In trying to not be too verbose, the home warranty company kept dragging their feet on getting the repair authorized and caused me to be displaced from my home for over a week and in a hotel. After a week of this I was able to get the owner of Patriot Air on a conference call with the warranty company to finally get the approval needed for the replacement part. Once we had this the owner personally picked up the part, came to my house and did the install!!! This was by far above and beyond in my opinion and am more than appreciative. This contractor is very non-responsive. I had an AC unit fail on Sunday the 14th of August and notified my home warranty provider, American Home Shield. They assigned Patriot Air, Inc. as the service contractor and gave me their phone number by e-mail. I called and left a message, not expecting them to call until Monday. I heard nothing! So, I texted Eric (his answering machine message gave me the directions on where to send the text message). Still nothing. Finally, I called AHS and they cancelled the assignment and assigned another contractor. I don't know how Patriot Air stays in business the way they ignore their potential customers! read more

Eric initials contracts himself instead of advising you and letting you see his very long and complicated contract and allowing you to initial yourself. With his little iPad it is easy to scroll so fast that you don't see how much is there. Of course what he verbally offered is not what is on the contract. Please beware there is a lot of verbiage you need to read and if he is initialing for you how would you have a clue all that is in there and it's a lot. He also left my water on therefore when I noticed a day and a half later it was due to the flooding on the side of my house. If you use him check everything...Paper work, water, his work. Quite frankly he left me more concerned about my AC then before he came. I cancelled my contract immediately upon receiving my email copy. I was told I would receive my refund by check of course minus the $160 for services rendered. 2 months later and nothing. I had used them once before years ago and was happy with them...not anymore. read more

While Eric (Patriot's owner) was timely, reliable and got the job done,,,,he also overcharged me by one hr. ($115/hr).. I was home during the time he worked on my furnace and he spent 2 hrs at the job. One hr of which was driving to Scottsdale to get the parts. He actually worked one hr on the repair. When he produced the billing he had 3 hrs for the job. I asked him why was I paying for an extra hr, he said the "book says this is a 3 hr job". Well obviously, the book is wrong as he did the job in two hrs. I feel overcharged and i let him know it. BUYER BEWARE. read more
