Pats Restaurant

Finally stopped by Pat's on the corner of Pacific and Carpenter, and wow, what a gem! It looks like a little house on the corner, super cute and inviting. I've driven past it for years, always curious, and now I'm kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. Recently, they added Phuket Thai to the mix, which cranked my curiosity up even more. While the economy has definitely tightened how often we eat out, when we do, my fam bam and I make it a point to support small local businesses. And this is one I'm thrilled to shout out to the community. Pat's is open for breakfast and lunch, serving up both classic American fare and Thai dishes, yes, you read that right! The food was absolutely delicious, the Thai coffee was chef's kiss, and the vibe inside? Friendly, clean, spacious, and totally welcoming. We'll definitely be back. Don't sleep on this spot, it's a neighborhood treasure! If you're in the area, stop in and grab a bite and say hi. You won't be disappointed.

There is absolutely nothing fancy about Pat's Cafe. Just good sized portions and tasty food. DO NOT go if you're in a hurry. Food is made to order on a small grill. It really should only get three stars (maybe) but the staff are so kind, efficient and apologetic. They were very busy and seemed to have quite a few return regulars. Looked like a good place for young families. Special straws on the tables for younger patrons. Hopefully those younger patrons aren't starving.

Buiscuts and gravy, oh my!

Wow! Big changes in place for Pat's Cafe! Cassie is back, the previous owner's daughter, and she's got plans. The metamorphosis has already begun, with new fresh paint and enthusiasm when you walk in! Gone are the knick-knacks of yesteryear, the old paintings on the walls, and the counter at the front door that took up valuable real estate. But not to worry, the menu stays, and the bones of the rooms remain the same. Simply put, you can't take the charm out of this place...but you can bring it to the 21st century. Congratulations Cassie! Market the hell out of this special place, keep the great food, and stay enthusiastic. You've got this!

Farmer's Omelet

Driven by this place for literally decades...finally decided to stop in for brunch. Bigger inside than I imagined. Service was a bit slow. Coffee was weak. Asked about the hash--not house made. Went with Farmers Omelet. Was not very tasty. Came topped with a melted slice of American cheese...yuck. Just was not that great unfortunately. I cannot say that I would want to return.

Delicious Pad Thai chicken @ Pat's Cafe in Lacey.

Breakfast and Pad Thai chicken were delicious, employees are dedicated, nice and they always have a smile

Basic breakfast. Lots of seating. Dated inside and doesn't have great ambiance. Nothing unique about the menu or food. Everyone's food was decent. Convenient location in Lacey.

Biscuits and gravy with hash browns. Perfectly cooked over easy eggs.
David H.

Delicious, perfectly cooked food in a small restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure you check their business hours before you go as they're limited but worth it.

Good family spot. It reminds me of small town dinners. Nothing over the top but decent food at a decent price.

Good food, reasonably priced. My only complaint is not having cups with lids for kids but that's super minor. We'll definitely be back.

We started with some amazing coffee, but when the most amazing biscuits and gravy came out, I was astounded by the rich mushroom gravy that was more of a stroganoff than a country gravy. The sausage set this dish off and topped with two eggs made every tastebud swoon with delight. Saving the best for last, these evil sorcerers decided to make French toast out of a dense, thick slice of bread pudding. Topped with a berry compote and vanilla drizzle, each bite had me squealing in ecstasy. I can't do regular French toast ever again!

The food portions are good and you get what you pay for. The food is very good. I ordered my go-to, the Two egg breakfast with two sausage patties (big), hash brown, toast. I also got one buttermilk pancake to share with my wife. Everything was great. Serving size is worth the price, plus I won't be eating lunch today because I'll be full all day. My son-in-law got the Tacoma breakfast, it was huge and looked good. He said it was very good and he also will not be eating lunch today. The service was great. My hubby got the Tahoma. Chicken fried steak on top of biscuits and hash browns and gravy on the side. Just because the portion is GINORMOUS!! our server suggested for us to get gravy on the side to eat later and keep from it getting soggy. Thanks Heather!! My Loco mock was okay. Just some plain burger patties on top of rice with eggs. The gravy was delish. If the patties were fat homemade patties and sticky calrose rose, it woulda been MWAH (chef's kiss)! Still, great experience. Great breakfast spot to try out!! Family friendly!!

When we first walked in, it felt like a classic diner. And it is! In all the good ways. The diner is clean, the coffee is hot and flavorful, and the portions are generous. My husband had the Build Your Own omelet, topped with Jack Cheese. And they did not skimp on the ingredients. The cheese was nice and gooey, and the flavors melded perfectly. I had the French Toast. Again, generous portions, and the slices were thick and perfectly battered. Not soggy, slightly crisp. And the syrup was warmed! Sometimes it is the little things. The bacon was crisp, just how I had ordered it, not limp, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Our server was Shawna, and she was personable and perfectly attentive. We were seated where we could observe the cooks, and they functioned like a well-oiled machine. All in all it was a good experience, and I would highly recommend. An added bonus: there are glass partitions between the booths. It really helps keep the noise level down. This was much appreciated and I wish more restaurants would do this. The next time we are at this end of town, we will be back.

We started with the patatas bravas, gambas pil pil (butter garlic shrimp), oysters (both raw and cooked), and a hummus platter, and everything was excellent. The true standout, however, was the smoked salmon Alfredo--an absolutely incredible dish and one of the best pastas I've had in a long time. We added some chopped jalapeños for extra heat, but honestly, it was fantastic even on its own. The dessert was equally impressive, with a cake that was incredibly moist and the perfect way to end the meal. The wine selection deserves special mention as well. They offer a great variety of Spanish wines that pair beautifully with the menu. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. The atmosphere is one of Octapas Café's biggest strengths. The restaurant features a beautiful, spacious dining room, plenty of outdoor seating, and even a private event space for larger gatherings and celebrations. I gave a 5 star rating a year ago although visited several times since then. I can't figure out what happened. Did the chef (s) move on, or pass away and a crew from a local fast food restaurant was hired as a replacement? I ordered the meal with filet, crab leg, lobster (portion?) with baked potato and Death by Peaches for dessert. I have had crab legs here before. This had been boiled until there was no flavor, and very ittle meat. And that was the selling point for me. The lomaster was fine but the sauce wasn't hollandaise as the bartender said. A watery, mustardy sauce. Not terrible but not very good either. Ordered filet medium, came well done. I took it home hoping to add to chili but too tough to eat. Took the baked potato home to save room for dessert and it was good. The real slap in the face was the dessert. I have ordered Death by peaches over and over and was never disappointed. What arrived was a heavy, dry, dense cake without much flavor, some peaches and a small scoop of ice cream. It needed a lot of ice cream or peaches to get through it. I left most of it. I don't mind splurging and I have without complaint but this was such a a disappointment. Most of the patrons were older and I had to wonder if management feels their expectations are lower? I will close by stating that wait staff and bartenders are top notch. Including Isiah from yesterday. Above and beyond even with a busy crowd. Never a complaint about the service. You are no longer my go to restaurant that I can depend on. Oh, had two drinks that were fine but the wine list is meh.
