We stopped by again on Easter, and even though they were just starting to get busy, the staff stayed on top of everything and checked in on us often. The food is constantly great, and the portion sizes are amazing for the price. My boyfriend always orders the county fried steak with white toast-he won't switch it up because it's always a hit. I tried they special this time, the smoked salmon Benedict with a side of avocados, and it was super flavorful. Tried this place on a whim while husband waited on a haircut Nextdoor. Got kids egg and cheese sandwiches with fresh fruit. They loved and really complimented the fruit bowl! I had a veggie omelette. Some places go way overboard with onions (prob bc they're a cheap filler) but this place was spot on. Omelette wasn't too big, perfect size. We were heartbroken to return from a 7 month road trip and learn that our favorite breakfast spot, Medicine Creek Grill, has ceased operations. In search for another option nearby, we checked out Lucky's. The place is clean and bright inside, with lots of windows letting in the light. Nothing fancy about the seating - standard restaurant fare, but no torn seat cushions or signs of it not being kept clean. We were met by a friendly server who seated us right away, followed soon after by bringing us water. The place was very busy and it seemed this one poor server was on her own taking care of the main dining room (they also have a full bar, but I assume it's not very busy at breakfast). We placed our order and waited patiently for our food. There were many other customers waiting quite awhile for service and food. Eventually we saw another waitress join the one who served us. The food was only OK. Pancakes were good - nice and fluffy. The eggs were ordered over easy. Of the four eggs served to us (on our two orders) only one fit that description. One was broken, one was hard, and the other had slimy, uncooked egg white on it. I'm sorry, but if you can't cook eggs properly, you shouldn't be working a a breakfast cook! The hash browns were not crisp either. We will continue our search for a new breakfast restaurant that serves up good food at a reasonable price. Damn, I wish Medicine Creek would reopen. read more

Recently returned here...looking at my last review, its been around 3 years. Saturday afternoon, a few other parties dining in. Pretty quiet. Service was fast, and food came out fairly quickly. Went with a burger. It was okay, not the best. Decent sized menu. Lots to come back and try, just not sure what keeps me from not coming back and trying more of the menu. I guess I am just not feeling this place. I thought the food was mediocre. I recently had breakfast at Lucky's and I ordered biscuits and gravy. I am a big snob when it comes to a few things in life and biscuits and gravy are high on that list. Lucky's gravy is not impressive at all. It is obviously a mix because it's so bland. Making creamy, yummy gravy is so easy and only a few ingredients so I will never understand serving nasty gravy. (Yes - it's a trivial thing to be upset about but I'm pretty passionate about biscuits and gravy ) I am not basing my review just on breakfast. I've eaten here a few times in the last few years, breakfast and dinner but nothing I have tried so far has me anxious to go back. I will say their serving sizes are big and they are in a great location (right off the freeway and lots of parking). A nice diner find incongruously nestled in a strip mall among more ordinary businesses. Walking in the door brings that classic diner feel you can't get at an I Hop or an analog of those national breakfast conveyors. The menu is what you'd expect...standard old school diner fare, which is what we are looking for in such a place. Our omelettes were well prepared in generous portion, hash browns cooked just right, coffee was good, and service was great--cheerful and professional! Located on the west end of the Hawks Prarie Village Mall near Big Lots. This little restaurant offered up a nice alternative to the motel breakfast on a lazy Sunday day off from work. Even though I inadvertently walked in 10 minutes too soon, I sat and caught up on the news while they finished there preparations for the morning shift. I opted to try the Cinnamon Roll French toast and was glad I did. Just the right amount of sweet to go with the bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs. The coffee had a great flavor and complimented the meal nicely. I was the first one there and so the meal came rather quickly. Eggs were perfect. The waitress, Patricia, was very friendly which made the visit worth while. I would definitely come back and try dinner if given the chance. read more

I've always liked Lucky's because of its all American ambiance, expansive menu and friendly service. I initially only ordered through Uber eats, but I finally came into their restaurant. When I first came in, the diner was fairly empty, only having about 2-3 people sitting. The music was good and not too loud. The color and decor on the walls and bar were pretty modern and welcoming. When I order for lunch, I usually get a custom sandwich like ham, turkey and bacon on wheat bread with Swiss cheese or a clubhouse with potato salad. The server was pretty polite and friendly, and even remembered me the second time I came in which was pretty nice. Overall, I still plan on coming back. Lucky's a great, welcoming diner! read more

a hidden gem of a diner! lucky's is tucked away in a kind of random shopping center (think where safeway and big lots are). because of this, and because they opened just before the pandemic, sadly, it's not terribly well-trafficked. however, if you're reading this, please stop on by! this was the first time i've eaten inside, though i did have a really good takeout experience with them a few weeks ago. most of the space is taken up by comfortable booths that are perfect for eating and chatting leisurely. the host/waiter was super accommodating and attentive! the food is actually very delicious traditional diner fare. their omelettes are huge and rich, definitely stuffed to the brim--no skimping on fillings! joe's special scramble is super filling--it looks like a smallish skillet, but that's deceptive, because it's actually a ton of food. everything tasted extremely fresh and they make their home fries and biscuits from scratch. my husband got the clubhouse sandwich with fries--the fries came out hot and fresh, and the giant sandwich is a fabulous club. i had to steal a couple of bites! this spot is very convenient for us, and we look forward to returning regularly. nothing has disappointed yet, except the fact that we didn't discover this place until now! please give it a try and support a local business. you won't regret it :) read more

We found this place accidentally and this is our second time here. The staff is friendly and professional. Small local restaurant with basic American food tasted good. Prices are good and the amount of food serving is just right. The reason of 3 stars is not the establishment's wrong doing or the food is bad. Ok I have to start by saying, the 1 server they had was great! She was hustling her butt off, but unfortunately that is to much for one person to handle. Every table was dirty and filled with dirty dishes. There was two bus tubs full of dishes, she had six tables when we walked in and 8 when we left. After waiting close to 45 min for our food then then them literally bringing one corrected item to the table and not even offering to fix anything I'm fully frustrated with this place. The 2 servers completely ignored us, and proceeded to seat someone, getting them coffee and silverware which we were never given but spoons for our coffee, she looked at me the took out her notepad and took that couples order. We got up to pay for the coffee which we just had a few sips on and waiting at the register to pay for the coffee, a waitress showed and when we told her it was rude that there other couple got severed and ordered she gave us an attitude about it.
