This place is a hidden treasure! It's tucked away on a side street in the commercial/industrial zone of Island Park area in an warehouse style location. There's nothing fancy about the interior as it's just concrete floors and rows of fruits and veggies. For the most part the produce is very good, not always great but all good quality and their prices for everything is excellent. Also it should be noted that there's a deli inside as well that's separate from the produce area and in no conjunction... But for a deli tucked inside a warehouse it's actually excellent, with fresh Italian meats, sausages and other goodies. Something worth checking out if your passing by or in the area. read more

I never thought I'd find a Korean Vegetable stand in Island Park, but I'm so glad I did! First, the vegetables are reasonably priced and fresh. Much fresher than you'd find in Stop & Shop & Waldbaums. You will probably find more variations of healthy greens here than any of those other supermarkets. Aside from veggies, I find a few things here you can get anywhere else in South Nassau - spicy ramen noodle soups, asian sauces and baby bok choy! If this place hooked up with a great butcher shop, it'd be the perfect shopping experience! There is a deli in the corner of the warehouse, but I'm not much into cold-cuts. read more

Hands down this place has super fresh fruit and vegetables and for about 1/3 of the price when compared to nearby fruit and veggie stores. They also have some VERY hard to find items such as certain fruits from tropical climates and Asian countries. I wouldn't recommend buying their packaged good (like regular ricotta cheese or something you can buy in the supermarket) - that is VERY marked up but as far as produce goes, this is your go to spot. The only complaint I could make is that when an item is on sale as at a 2-for price, if you only buy one you'll pay more. The thing is, in many cases, no normal person could handle six romaine hearts, for example, before it starts to turn. Thus, the advertised price can be, although in fact true, in practice, "difficult" - it's produce and it's perishable. I shop here comparatively often - certainly never in a supermarket! read more

They have a large variety of veggies and fruits priced much less than the supermarket and better flavor. No frills Atomsphere located on a side street in an industrial type area between Austin Blvd. and Long Beach Road. There is a deli dept. that offers up Boarshead cold cuts with specials, usually About $2 per pound cheaper on average. The shelves are filled with a variety of international groceries and interesting condiments. Be careful to inspect all fresh produce because some can be over ripe or spoiled because it's fresh stuff. read more

When ready to check out, we placed a .39/lb watermelon on the scale to see what it would cost, and the cashier told us $5.01. Our first indication of trouble being afoot should have been the fact that the empty scale read .12 lb as opposed to 0.00, which to me, means there is a higher weight for every item weighed. We proceeded anyway. The cashier hadn't rung up the watermelon at that point and after ringing up the rest of our items, she put it back on the scale, and now it came up as over $6, a difference of $1 and 3 pounds. We pointed this out, and the cashier took out a calculator but insisted on the price being over $6. Another cashier said the first price was probably because she rung it up as .25/lb. I took out my own calculator and discovered that based on the weight that would actually be $3.91. Something was obviously not on the level. We went back and forth about it and then we finally said we wouldn't be buying anything, or returning. We walked out and won't walk back in. read more
