Decent size seating area with interesting decor selections, however this is not a very service forward establishment, nor was it an elevated food experience. Ordered a lemonade that was very light in flavor - seemed heavily watered down, and a sliced turkey sandwich. Had I known that the turkey sandwich comes with NOTHING but turkey and bread. I wouldn't have ordered it. Sliced bread with dry unseasoned sliced turkey...lays / ruffles potato chips and the worst possible pickle pairing (sweet pickles) on the side. It's unfortunate that this place is very below the bar for the area, they have potential, but really need to get some seasoning on their shelves and moisten up that turkey, include the standard toppings with your sandwiches at the very least... read more

Stopped in before hitting the trail. Really good home cooking. Chill, local atmosphere and great fresh ingredients. I had the egg, cheese and sausage sandwich and added Mayo, lettuce and tomato. Restaurant is right on Main St in Downtown Bardstown. The interior is warm and inviting with a fireplace on one wall. The staff is friendly and the food was delicious. We split the western omelette and the strawberry banana pancakes. Our friends had the breakfast biscuits and stuffed French toast with a side fried potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked and homemade. The breakfast sandwich had real eggs... no McDonald's eggs here. read more

I was looking for a different place for lunch in Bardstown and Pat's Place was getting a 4.5/5 on google. Why not? It seems cute and was packed at lunchtime, We both ordered the meatloaf special and I ordered coffee. The coffee and food came quickly. Unfortunately the green beans were cold and the meatloaf and mashed potatoes were OK but not memorable. The roll was cold(no butter) and looked like one out of a package from the grocery store. The coffee was OK but I wanted a refill and had to go up the counter to get it. Also, they had originally charged us for 2 cups of coffee instead of one. Oops. I must admit that the burger and fries that the folks next to us ordered looked pretty good. I would have ordered breakfast, however, I only received a lunch menu(11:30 am). The reviews for breakfast were much better. Can't say I will eat here again. read more

We love the downtown Bardstown area and we were looking for some post-church food that was a little lighter than some other places offer. Pat's Place turned out to be perfect. They have really solid and simple food. We were able to be seated right away, and the staff we interacted with was all very friendly throughout our time there. We each ordered a simple BLT. And a simple BLT we received! It was yummy and met our expectations. It came out quickly, we were able to satisfy our little craving and be on our merry way efficiently. Overall really good experience and a little bit of a change up for us, but definitely worthwhile! Would recommend! read more

Pats place is a downtown Bardstown Kentucky diner type establishment that is located on the extremely popular strip of shops and eateries that is in the city. My family and I was in town from Lousiville taking a tour of nearby Bethlehem high (daughter may go there next year) and knowing this strip has cool places we arrived a smidge early to eat lunch. If I'm being honest we had another place on mind. But most of the places were closed on a Monday so we happily made the small walk to pats and diner here. Waking it it was away yourself. It has all the small town country town charm that you would expect from a diner in Bardstown. The workers were super friendly and efficient and we got great service. We started with an appetizer of cheese sticks. They had a nice Golden crust and good flavor on the crust. The cheese to me was a bit bland. But the kids loved it. Marinara sauce was real good too. For our entrees we sampled the menu quite a bit. I personally went simple and small with a grilled ham and cheese with Mayo. Was a pretty good sandwich. Not very much substance. But the ham had great flavor. My 2 middle daughters for a kids 2 piece tender. Both gave it a thumbs up and ate it all so that's a good sign. My wife got chicken noodle soup and a stuffed tomato with tuna salad on it. She was big fan of both and said they were great. My oldest born daughter got the house special that day that was spaghetti and meatballs. She was not a fan at all. Barely touched it. Said it tasted like spaghettios from a can. Overall we had a great visit. Great and fast service. Majority of the food was satisfying sans the house special. Absolutely would come back. Cute, folksy and tasty place. read more

On our first morning in Bardstown, we decided to grab breakfast at Pat's Place on North 3rd Street in their downtown. Per the checker-pattern floors, I had the sense that this had been a more traditional diner at one point in its past with more counter seating, or had been an ice cream parlor (at least that was the impression I had). But Pat's held much of the ambiance and feel of one, right down to the hospitable and friendly service. My litmus test for most restaurants that serve breakfast nowadays is how they do a breakfast sandwich consisting of bacon, egg, and cheese on either toast, biscuits, or croissants. Being that we were in Kentucky, I went for two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on biscuits. I was not disappointed in my order as I inhaled them with gluttonous glee. The pricing was reasonable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts. I washed down the bacon, egg, cheesy goodness with multiple servings of coffee and water. Their hash browns were good as well, as I opted to enjoy them with hot sauce. I wish we could have come here once more while we were in town because those breakfast biscuit sandwiches were delicious. read more

"Mom & Pop" style restaurant with "home cooked" meals. I've had the meatloaf and the country fried steak on different days for lunch; Both were good. Service could be a little better. Sunday brunch... I loved the stuffed French toast; it was not overly sweet. My 2 disappointments would be... the Banana Nut French toast, I originally came for, they were out of, and that they close so early on Sundays, so it's hard to get there before they close on Sundays. But... being out of something usually means it's really good so, maybe one of these days I'll get to try it. And, closing early really isn't a big deal... they have to do what's best for them. What is not to like about a community restaurant that serves breakfast and comes complete with the "old man's " gathering table complete with old men. :) The waitstaff was very friendly and kept our coffee cups filled. I did enjoy using the older style thick coffee cups normally found in restaurants of my past. I have to take one star off for two reasons. The first reason is that they used foodservice hash browns and biscuits. The 2nd reason was that my biscuit and gravy were stone cold. We love trying new places and one of our favorites are family owned small businesses. Pat's Place is run by Pat and her twin daughters. Their burgers are handmade patties, just the right 80/20 mix and dressed the way you like. So good . Great atmosphere and the twins took great care of our group. Hands down the best burger in Bardstown. Don't let this little diner fool you. Located in the heart of downtown Bardstown Pat's Place is always on my list of places to eat. Today I got the Bacon Cheeseburger and the Onion Rings. The burger was as good as I remembered it. I think it's the beef patty and the raw onions together that really make the burger. This burger never disappoints. I also like to dip the burger in their ranch dressing. I'm not a fan of their ranch but it still adds great flavor to the burger. The onion rings were a perfect golden dark brown and crispy. The service is always good and they treat you like family. I will always make a point to eat here when I'm in town. My wife and I have passed through Bardstown a number of times traveling from Ohio so SW KY to visit family, but we had never stopped at Pat's Place until today. Wanting to try a new place this time around, we decided to stop in. It has a definite diner feel, and we were told to just sit wherever we wanted. It's an informal place that seems like a local favorite. There are maybe eight or ten other customers when we arrived. I ordered a bourbon burger with provolone, and my wife ordered a fried chicken sandwich. Both came with potato chips. The food came out pretty quickly, probably in about ten minutes, and seemed fresh and hot. The burger was very good, the bourbon sauce itself delicious, and was a very good size. It filled me without being too much. The fried chicken sandwich was a little odd -- two breaded chicken strips in a bun. I don't remember which toppings my wife asked for on the chicken sandwich, but I do remember that she thought it was good -- not great, but good. I asked for a coffee to go, and I got what I expected: a large Styrofoam cup of mediocre diner coffee. As I said, the space itself had a definite local diner feel about it. It was clean and orderly, but nothing fancy. The restrooms could have used a little cleaning. Will we return? Given how often we pass through the area in our travels, it's likely that we will be back again at some point in the next few years. Spent the night in Bardstown and a friend picked me up for breakfast. Stumbled onto Pat's which had one of the simplest menus I've ever seen. Think it had four lines! Paris the waitress was great. I switch three or four things on what I ordered and it wasn't a problem. When she brought our food I asked for hot sauce. She brought my favorite "Texas Pete" was happy to get it out n Kentucky. Had some time before heading to the distilleries and it might be a good idea to not start drinking on a empty stomach. So it was a seat yourself and the waitress promptly came by for our order . We got biscuits and gravy with bacon and over easy eggs. The biscuits were fluffy but held firm. And the gravy had some huge chunks of sausage that was amazing. The bacon was crisp without being over done. And the eggs were on point with a nice runny yoke. And to top it off the coffee was great.
