Small little diner in downtown Taylorsville open Monday-Friday (cash only) that has the most delicious homemade desserts. Lynda, staff, and their customers create a friendly atmosphere. We were coming back from Taylorsville Lake and found Lynda's grill. The food was excellent and it only took about 8 minutes to come out hot and fresh. The staff was super nice and interactive with customers. The restaurant was very nice and cozy wasn't too big, wasn't too small. Located this little gem by accident on our drive from Michigan to Nashville. As I drove past and saw a few vehicles in the lot, I decided to do an immediate turnaround and go and check it out. As we were walking in about 8 local men had just left. Little did we know how fortunate we were? Upon entering we found there were about 8 stools and two tables. After sitting down, the waitress from behind the counter asked what we would like to drink, we both chose iced tea and they asked "Sweet or regular" ... Sweet please. I knew I had just been blessed! The teas were placed on the counter and one of the patrons brought them over to us -- we felt like we were back in the south and decided to go with the Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes and veggie. The ambiance of this little place was like walking into the 60's with the lunch counter and stools. Locals drop in for lunch, visiting with the other patrons, others stopping in for there to-go orders and even a drive-up window. It seemed like they have a clientele of regulars and must stay pretty busy. The food was good and inexpensive. I think it was like $14 for both of our meals. I would highly recommend a stop at Lynda's. She cooks on the other side of the counter and was very friendly as was the waitress. If I ever have the opportunity to stop here again I surely will!! read more

A definite stop if you're on a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives road trip. There are two four-tops and 5 bar seats so it may be best to arrive non-peak hours. Breakfast is served until 1030am without exception. Smoking is still allowed indoors, so expect a local, camped-out farmer to be chain smoking at the end of the bar during the entirety of your meal. I really love this place! However, if you are headed there right now and reading the reviews to see if you want to go there, you need to know a few things: 1. Cash only. We almost couldn't eat here because of this, but I found some cash in the car. 2. They allow smoking, which I suppose is normal in Taylorsville. 3. The place is tiny. If you love old school diners, you will love Lynda's. It has a ton of character. Other reviewers have pointed this out, but this place is a blast from the past...like the old time lunch counter places. The food is excellent! We had an opening round of fried cheese sticks which were typical but good. My wife and I both had burgers, and it is worth going here just for those. Fries and cottage cheese were great. Slaw was a little sweet for my taste, but probably about right for a country place like this. The pies are made fresh daily. We didn't get a piece, but they looked great. The owner and other employee were very friendly and funny. They were cracking good natured jokes on the regulars who were there the whole time. i love love love Lyndas. its really no secret. to the dude that wrote a review saying the country ham was salty, yeah, country ham is supposed to be extremely salty. next time get city ham. Lyndas is seriously the best restaurant in Taylorsville. everyone there makes you feel like youre part of the family. what do i get? grilled chicken with sauteed bell peppers and onions and cheese melted on top. their boss burger is a beast!!! my daughter always gets soup and chicken rings. you can finish up with a homeade piece of cake, or pie of some sort.
