Recently, I found a true gem - Pat's Plumbing. When I flushed the toilet, the water kept running in the tank. I had to turn off the main water line to get it to stop. When I called Pat's Plumbing, Pat answered the phone. An appointment was made and he showed up as scheduled. Pat assessed the situation, told me what needed to be done, and quoted a price. Upon approval, he quickly got to work. He brought in all the necessary parts and equipment and proceeded with the repair. While working, I had several questions which he honestly responded to and also offered suggestions. Even though Pat was there to fix the toilet, I had another problem area - the valves on the washer. One valve had broken off and the other valve leaked when the water was turned on. He noted that the water supply lines (rubber hoses) were very old and should be replaced before they burst. As before, he determined what needed to be done and re-quoted a price for both jobs. With his experience and knowledge, he educated me as the repairs were being done. I like that he had the patience to have a two-way conversation instead of no communication at all. As each repair was completed, he tested it out to make sure it was okay. Pat is our "go to" person to call with any plumbing issue we have. Throughout the years we have relied on Pat for many issues, and he has proven himself, time after time, to be one of the most honest, down to earth, and old school trustworthy people we have ever met. We wanted to replace our antiquated toilets and asked Pat to come out to take a look at each toilet and recommend what type of toilet we should buy and asked him to measure so we would know how many inches the "rough-in" would be. He recommended which brand he has had outstanding results with "American Standard." We did our research and found the highest rated one at Home Depot, had them delivered to our home, and arranged for Pat to come install them. This is where his years of experience comes into play. Each of our existing toilets had many issues, only realized once they were taken apart and removed. Pat was able to make modifications and install the new toilets, using his years of experience in knowing what parts needed replacing and which parts needed modifications, especially since our toilets came as a "kit" and some parts were included. One of our toilets was so old, being installed 50-60 years ago, that only an experienced plumber like Pat would even have a clue as to how to modify a toilet installation in 2020. Once he arrived, he told us to just sit back and relax, and he brought in a dolly, removed our old toilets, installed our new toilets, and there were no complications that Pat did not resolve using his years of experience. He loaded our old toilets into his cargo van, including the cardboard boxes our new toilets came in, cleaned up after himself, and left us in utter amazement of how amazing new toilets are and how much water they save and how quickly they flush. I had a plugged toilet and waited patiently for them to come the next day. They did a quick plunge, got the toilet to flush, and charged $180! Two days later toilet plugged again and a different plumber pulled up the toilet to find all kinds of roots in the line. For $180 the least they could have done was remove the toilet and cleaned the line properly! They told me I needed a whole new toilet and left me an estimate for $725! What a rip off! read more

Plugged bathroom sink. Garbage disposal on the fritz. So, as always, I searched yelp to find a local plumber. Found Pat with 5 stars... I read the reviews, and noticed a picture of his van... looked like 'old school cool' and seasoned vehicle, so I called Pat to make an appointment. I happened to be in front of the house when he drove up, right on schedule (and yes, the van was cool). Pat introduced himself, clean as a whistle (first appointment of the day), and stated that he has 50 years in the business... now that's longevity! First, the garbage disposal. My wife wanted a new one installed (we had already purchased one), thinking the current one was broke (even though it was installed a few years ago). Pat checked it out, pushed the re-set button (duh), and cranked a lever, and voila! Fixed! He also explained to us the reason the sink was getting clogged was the piping underneath was not done correctly. We asked how much to fix, and he let us know it probably wasn't worth it to re-pipe it now, but just to use the disposal every day and we shouldn't have a problem. Money saved! Thank you Pat! The toilets and showers were backing up in the house due to a blockage in our mainline. I talked to several plumbers about putting in a clean out and the prices were very high and would involve digging up the lawn. I talked to Pat and he was able to install a clean out in the crawl space under the house for half the price and in only 3 hours. All at the same time today my bath tub water wasn't going down the drain and started gurgling then I turn around and my toilet was shooting up stuff gross!!!! All over the floor. Bought a dishwasher from Lowe's with installation. Installer came and freaked out and left within 30 seconds because we had an old (illegal) set-up. Wouldn't come back until it was up to code. In comes Pat. He was the first plumber I called and will be the only plumber I ever call again. He came to check out the job within 15 minutes! Walked us through the entire job and explained everything to us in detail. He came the next morning exactly when he said he would and did the job quickly, efficiently and with pizzazz (he's a character of the best kind). He even billed us for less than the original quote, which is super rare. Anyhoot, I called Lowe's to have the installer come back. After a bunch of runaround and a slew of new, hidden charges, I called Pat again and had him do the install. I'd rather pay a good, honest guy than support a larger corporation that tries to stick it to the customer at every turn. Pat came back, finished the job better than any corporate installer could or would. I offered to clean up the (very little) mess from the install, but he insisted he do it himself.
