Amazing place. I have never seen such dedicated horse people. They treat every horse as their own. Checks them 3 times a day. There are several choices for stalls, but the level and attention is beyond basic care for a very reasonable rate. Don't let the grounds put you off. it's been there awhile, but still fabulous. Had to find my elderly horse a place where she could be checked on frequently. The level of care, attention, and love - yes love- my horse gets makes me so grateful. If I could give more stars, I would...to the max. Catherine and Jack go that extra mile to be certain that the horses in their care get their full attention, always. The barn and grounds are clean and well cared for. The horses are fed three times a day and blankets are put on and removed when needed. They are knowledgeable about horses in general and if there is any question about whatever might crop up, they notice and are fully attentive to managing whatever needs attention and notifying owners of any concerns. My horses are content and happy in their care. There is an atmosphere of calm which pervades. The nearby trails are easily accessed and a large arena with good footing. What more could one ask? My horses are happy horses which makes me a very happy girl. read more

Patton farm is an incredible place to board your horse. Jack and Catherine are wonderful people and they truly love the animals that are in their care. I have been with them for over 20 years and can't imagine being any other place but Patton farm. They have a vast array of knowledge surrounding the animals and give each one personal care, feeding and attention at all times. The stable has a sense of family and is my escape and sanctuary for me. I would highly recommend this barn. read more

I pass by this place multiple times a day and always see these poor horses standing on wet ground and not moving. The horses have a very small area to walk which does not allow them to graze at all. The ground is muddy with little to no grass available. It breaks my heart to see these beautiful peaceful creatures in pain. read more

I just wanted to add my two cents here. Yes- they have vast experience and capability and go the extra mile. Beyond that- This place is all about deep love for horses and you can't put a price on that. I kept my old horse there some years back and everyone was so kind when the end time came . No snobbery, just genuine kindness and a generous spirit of fellowship there. Because it was such a good experience overall, I did get back into horses eventually. read more

I can't say enough great things about Catherine and Jack and the amazing care that they provide. If I am lucky enough, my horse will have a forever home with them. Catherine and Jack treat each and every horse as if it were their own. From adjusting feed, to making sure that they have attention when you can't get out there. They handle the vet's, shoeing, chiropractic care and massage appointments for you and send a report if you are unable to attend. The facility has everything you need and with trails close by, this is paradise for both me and my horse. I couldn't be more thankful and appreciative. read more

I have only been boarding here 1 month so far but it had good references from mutual acquaintances before I decided to move my horse here. The owners are on site and very caring. There's an outdoor arena plus a round pen; both have good footing even in the rain - maybe alittle hard plus the outdoor has a slight slope to it, but for the rates they charge to have a useable arena at all is excellent. Good quality orchard and timothy and a very regular schedule of feeding and watering, very reliable care. Lots of 'extras' included in board. The stalls and loafing sheds seem soundly built and safe. Hot wire fencing for most of the paddocks, Varied options from stall with attached run + paddock turnout daytimes, or a loafing shed with attached paddock for 24 hr access, etc. They have been in horse boarding for a LONG time and seem to have some good, long term boarders too. I haven't seen any weird dramas, the boarders seem friendly, some are frequent visitors / riders and others just have the horses there but rarely visit. Only 1x a month visits by a good dressage trainer, mostly people are casual riding and lunging or the horse is 'retired'. Older adults, teens, a few kids seen around here. There's also access to Soos creek trail with a very short ride along the shoulder of 148th (less than a block actually 'on street' riding. This trail has some spook hazards like bikes and trikes but that's good exposure if you want to get your horse used to that. It's mostly dirt trail alongside a paved bike trail with just a few offshoots that are more 'nature-y'. For the price I think this place is a great find; to be 5 star I'd have to pay a lot more. They manage to cram a lot into a small area and it's old (but in good repair and clean) so I guess that's how they keep their overhead modest. They prioritize horse's welfare and i like the fact that my horse can be in a loafing shed with all day turnout because he hated an indoor stall and used to crib, doesn't here. read more

I have been riding a horse boarded at Patton Farms for the last 2 years and you couldn't ask for a more caring and well-run facility. The owners live on site so you don't have to worry about noone being there in middle of the nite to take care of any issues, in fact I know of at least 2 cases where the owners have stayed up all nite to take care of a clients horse when they were unable to come right away. There is a outdoor arena with footing that drains well and is rideable all year long. There is also trails on the Soos Creek Trail that you can ride to directly from the barn. The hay and grain are very good quality so you don't have to worry about moldy hay. This is a great place to board a horse! read more

I have been boarding my horse at this place for about 8 months. I have been extremely pleased with the care and facilities. I am an equine vet that moved to Seattle area and needed to move my elderly horse. They are very knowledgeable about horse health issues and were familiar with terms that most of my clients don't know. Anytime that I have asked for something specifically, they have no problem accommodating my horses needs. The owners are around every day and always very friendly. I initially moved my horse there sight unseen because it was in my budget and Kathy seemed normal over the phone (and I had ten days to find a stable and hauler to get him across the country!). I figured I could move him if it didn't work out. Now that I am making more money, I can afford to find a barn slightly closer to Seattle, but I am so happy with Patton Farms that I don't want to (and I am afraid my horse wont do as well, even at a boarding place that is twice the money). My only gripe is that the paddocks are muddy, and do not have grass. But, it is nice that my old horse can be in his own paddock and is not out getting beat up by the young fit horses. They feed good quality hays, which makes up for the lack of grass. Overall, I would def recommend this place. You wouldn't like it if you want a barn that looks fancy, has new facilities, and are used to boarding at 500-600 dollar per month barns. But, the care is great and I never worry about my horse when I can't get there for a week or two. I have boarded my horse for 20 years and this place is in the top three places that I have ever kept him. read more

I have been boarding my horse here for 4 years and couldn't ask for a better place. The owners are not only on site and extremely experienced and knowledgable they are kind and create good relationships with my family and my horse. The price is unbeatable and for what they provide/include in this small fee you will NOT find anywhere else. The round pen and arena have great footing and stay dry all year round. The stalls are clean and a good size. The property has been around a while but is very well maintained. They truely go above and beyond to take exceptional care of my girl. She couldn't be happier and I couldn't be happier!!! I give this place 5 stars for sure! read more

I have been a boarder with Patton Farm since they had Patton Farm II (1994) with my first horse. I went away to college and had my horse shipped over to Pullman. They took care of all the details needed for a successful move. I was thankful to hear they had space for my two horses when I returned in 2003. They have been an asset of support as I have needed to make the hard choices for those family members. I am now with horse number 3 and still am thrilled to be calling Patton Farms my horse home. As I know if I need to make a trip or be away for sometime my horse's care will continue as promised and sometimes have even better care then if I had my own place. read more
