I requested service on a 2010 Camry my son recently purchased. And about 5 days after purchase, the check engine light came on. Took it to Patton's to have it diagnosed. I worked with Vince, a true professional at his job. He explained everything that needed to be done on the vehicle upfront. No mark ups, or pressure upselling. Just the facts. And I really appreciated that. He didn't do any work without asking if it was okay to move forward. He diligently worked with me on getting the vehicle repaired. And he even offered me advice on whether or not to get other repairs done. Which actually saved me money because of that advice. This repair shop is one of the best repair shops I've ever been to. They're transparent about everything. Their pricing is very reasonable. And they definitely don't over charge for things that aren't necessary. And they give you advice. Something that should help any single ladies that are scared of being taken advantage of while shopping for repairs. I would recommend this shop to anyone that is looking to get their vehicle repaired at reasonable prices. I will be taking all of my vehicles there when repairs are needed. I believe they won't disappoint you. My repairs were a fuel pump and a few vacuum leaks. For me, the price was fair because I know you have to remove the entire back seat to get to the fuel pump. And most people don't have the equipment to check for leaks. It takes time to diagnose. But anyway, hope this helps someone looking for a good auto repair shop. read more

Okay. Herein lies a story of going way "above and beyond." On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I caught a piece of metal in a rear tire. I had it towed to Patton's after hours. On the next day, Jeff hustled to put four new tires on my car after he identified to me a holiday sales promotion. I needed four tires, so I jumped at the opportunity. The sale included a rebate opportunity which Jeff "walked me through." My car was finished in time for me to go to work and my rebate is being processed. I started using Patton's about 13 years ago. Jeff takes time to know his regulars and even remembered a story I told him 12 years ago. This mechanic shop is a keeper! I PRAISED JEff and his technicians for their honest and timely work. No surprise bill at the end.... they keep you informed and asks approvals before doing anything. They now service all 3 of our vehicles, our sons, Mother in law, her friends and our neighbors. I recommend them to everyone! They are not shady and do not slap inspection stickers on unless you car truly passed inspection...... integrity and that is why I recommend them everyone! Update 6/14/2023 Today I called Vince to ask if they could help me with removing the spare tire from under my F150 as I had lost the tools to do it myself. Jeff showed me where the tools are inside the cab (I never saw that opening) and he showed me how to use them and how to lower the tire. The tire was factory installed in 2006 and had never been lowered so it still had the blue chalk on the Micheline. Patton's Auto is now the only auto shop that I will use. I highly recommend Patton's. This is our 2nd time using Patton's and they truly are amazing. I think their prices are below all other auto shops in Chester area. I have used other auto shops in Chester and thought that they were always finding issues that did not exist just to raise the cost. I did not think there was an honest auto shop until I started dealing with Patton's. As a widower, I understand nothing about car repairs....and Patton's always takes the time to explain things to me in a way that I can understand. My wife called Patton's to inquire about purchasing 2 tires for her vehicle. This vehicle is a BMW so my wife called BMW to find out if it was okay to put an all season tires on this vehicle. She told them that the front 2 tires were perfect and didn't need replacing and that they were Run Flats. They told her that it would be okay. The Manager at Patton's told my wife that they wouldn't sell her 2 tires. That wasn't the program. He told her that you can't have 2 different sets of tires on a car. This meaning that the tread, size, brand has to be the same. She told the manager that she had called BMW and they told her that it was okay to do that as long as the front 2 tires were the same and the back 2 tires were the same. This meaning that the run flats could be in front and the all season tire could be in the back. My wife shared her experience with the Manager of Patton's with me so I called and asked to talk to the Owner of Patton's, The Manager Vic asked me what this was in reference to and I told him tires. I could tell by his voice that he didn't want the owner to talk to me so he told me that the owner was working on a car. I asked him if he was the manager and he said yes, then I asked him if he was the person my wife had talked to about the 2 tires yesterday. He replied I might of been. I asked him what the program was or meant. I asked him why he couldn't sell 2 tires to my wife. The Program is that they cannot put 2 tires on a car if the other 2 tires are different. I again stressed that my wife had called BMW. So the only thing that I can come up with is the Program is they will only sell you 4 tires even if you only need 2, and they really don't care what BMW or the consumer says or wants. I told the manager that I come to Patton's because I like to support the local business and that Patton's was a family owned business, however I wouldn't be bringing my business there again. I also told him that I would being writing a review on YELP. After that it was Yes Sir No Sir. I have never trusted auto mechanics much, I try to overlook things because everyone needs to make a living at what they do and the Mechanics at Patton's are no different I'm sure. To be fair I have had excellent service in the past going to Patton's, however this time I have to say they are a disappointment and are not worthy of my patronage anymore. read more

Our family takes all of its cars to Patton's. They have excellent service and are always willing to take a few minutes to thoroughly explain why or why not something should be done. They explain how different parts work so you can see for yourself why you might need something. They are also willing to let you know what you need immediately and what could wait a month or two without risking safety.
