I like that I have lifetime realignment on the car and that I can take the car anywhere for alignment to keep warranties in effect. As for the human interaction, I've not had a problem with that. It's now 2 hours from appointment time and car hasn't even been taken back. I had an appointment for an oil change that was supposed to take less than an hour. I noticed after 45 minutes that my vehicle hadn't been pulled to the shop. I was told they brought the wrong vehicle back and was assured it would go back but take another hour. After an hour and a half of it still not being pulled back the manager told me he had no idea when someone would be available to get it back but whenever that was it would be an hour on top of that. I don't understand how a manager has no idea what's going on in his shop. I left with my vehicle and Valvoline changed my oil in 10minutes. Firestone customer service is worthless too. Horrible customer service. The Manager Chris accused me of cursing at his employees when my mother and another customer were inside to witness. Very unprofessional to make these accusations and it shows they care very little for their paying customers. They recently inspected my vehicle and I paid for a brake job for the rear. Now after their work my wheel shakes when trying to stop. This is an obvious safety issue as it increases the time to stop let alone the vehicle pulling in a different direction.They informed me my front rotors are now warped. Among a laundry list of other recommendations and issues (wheel bearing, tires) that were never mentioned to me a month ago as I would gave paid to have those fixed as well. The communication was non existent and these issues were never revealed to me until I brought it back in this past weekend. Poor communication and poor customer service when resolving an issue, and inconsiderate of customer experience. Spoke to four different people including the manager who all took an adversarial and defensive position without intent of improving relations or resolving the issue of double charging diagnostic fees instead of just fixing the vehicle. This was the second time taking it to them for the same ac clutch squeal and they thought "cleaning and lubing" it would fix it, but squealed in the parking lot immediately at start up. I thought with the management change that occurred things would be different and wish it were due to convent location, but has been more of the same. Lost a day and $40 ($10to take Uber home from drop off, $10 to take Uber to pick it up, $10 tip to the mechanic I forgot to get back for cleaning the debris out, and $10 for them to look at it) just to take my unfixed vehicle to another shop who has earned my continued patronage. read more

I walked in waited 5 min with NO LINE and then asked the gentleman for assistance with an inspection. he looked at me and goes "not today" and walks away. Went for a state inspection, got an alignment and when I left I noticed the tire they aligned was low in air. Didn't go back inside because I spent 3 hours waiting. Stopped by Wawa to add air to my tire on the way home and everything seemed fine. This morning I came out to a completely flat tire. I called Firestone and explained my issue. They told me to just bring it in for them to look at. When I told them that I had to call a tow truck to take it anywhere they just said they were open all weekend. I went ahead and called to have my car towed, but instead I towed it to where I purchased my tires because I knew that whatever the cause was for the leak was done by Firestone. The other shop looked it over and found that the valve sensor had been damaged and that was what caused the leak. Thank you Firestone for adding another $150 in service fees for mishandling my vehicle. Update: The service technician put in his paperwork that he reviewed the leak with me and I denied repair. NOT A SINGLE PERSON in this building mentioned this to me! I was NOT asked if I would liked it fixed. I was NOT notified of the issue. I sat in their waiting area for over 3.5 hours and no one thought it was a good idea to let me know that they damaged my valve when performing their service. No one has contacted me. No one has attempted to reach out for their mistake. I've tried calling and I get nothing but "please bring it in so we can look at it". They refuse to acknowledge their mistake and own up to their mishandling. read more

I had an appointment at 11am to change tires, brakes, oil change and battery. I was on time and told it would take a few hours to complete. I had my daughter pick me up and they were going to call me when the car was ready. 3 1/2 hours later...not hearing from them, I called them to check on my car. He told me they were working on it and would call me when they were done. Two hours later I call them again and I was told it was not ready. I asked him when it would be ready...he said he would "try" to have it done by closing time 7 pm. I asked him why over 5 hours later my car was not done...I do not have a second car. I started to ask him why my car was not done, and why they had not called me that there would be a delay. I could have rescheduled or something....he just said they had other cars scheduled ahead of mine. I asked him what good is an appointment? He just mumbled that they still had to put the battery in and flush the lines etc. He treated me like I was a nuisance and not a customer. I finally told him I was coming over in 30 minutes to get the car and it better be ready. After having the car for over 6 hours, they had not finished the coolant or flushing the brake lines. I told him I was not pleased with their service and in rather strong works...no cursing..just firm language. He was dismissive and said he did not like being talked to that way. I told him ...again in very firm words...that I was the customer and I pay his paycheck. When service is lousy and you are disrespectful to the customer...you deserve being told. In the end he never apologized...and now I have to take my car to another shop to have the job completed. I can now see why they only have 2 1/2 stars...it should be less. read more

This is the worst place ever with no customer service at all. I tried to get a state inspection for my motorcycle on Fr at lunch. I was told they can't do it that day anymore that day. By the way it is a 5 min job to do it. They told me I have to come back next morning at 7:00 am OR drop it off. So I did get back up on a Saturday at 7:00 am and drove by bike at chilly 46 degrees to them to get my state inspection. They told me again they can not do it, I have to drop the bike off and take an Uber to get home. l hope they shut this place down soon to spare other customers this kind of frustration. They "couldn't get to my car" even after I had a confirmed appointment. Was told this with a "too bad for you" attitude instead of any sympathetic apology. Came back the next day and waited hours (yes, plural) only to be told they would not be able to complete all the work I needed because "they don't have the special tools to do so". I understand they must be understaffed and obviously extremely busy- but being friendly, polite and communicating well about timeframes and mistakes wouldn't take much of their time and would have made this awful experience a little more bearable. I realize every business has those busy moments but considerate communication remains essential for any business - I dropped my car off around 10:00 am for an oil change and wiper replacement; when I returned around 5:30 pm to pick-up the vehicle I was informed that absolutely no maintenance had been performed (the Rep indicated that they got busy and just couldn't get to it). Let me tell you how much I love this store!!! First off, the service manager, Craig, he's awesome. I had a horrible experience at another store today and he fixed it for me. He is the only person I like to deal with there. He's EXTREMELY accommodating and understanding. I literally had another Firestone tell me to put my tire on myself because they couldn't do it. I called and spoke with Craig and let him know, he personally put the tire on for me. He's seen me through my frustrations with my car. There is also an employee there, I think her name is April. She always so sweet and lets me know in smaller terms what's happening, as does Craig. The service here is fantastic. Best Firestone in town. Worth the drive here from Petersburg to have my vehicle for a routine oil change. Made an appointment on Firestone app and was immediately called by courteous employee to finalize date and time. Facility gives military discount and accepts firestone coupons. Craig helped me during my visit and he was very respectful and helpful unlike other dealerships or shops on the area. I have given up on Firestone for the vast majority of my auto care, but they sold me tires a little over a year ago and offer free repairs. So I went ahead and took it to this Firestone which is now closer to me and I had hopes that I would be surprised. Nope, I walked in and everything was fine, the gentlemen that greeted me was pleasant and prewarned me of the wait. I was okay with that, so I sat down and waited. I over heard another service person talk to another customer and I was a little turned off by his gruff manner, but it wasn't anything big. However when that same service man came to tell me about my cabin air filter and engine filter, I became irritated. I came for a tire patch job! He definitely showed his displeasure when I denied him changing those things ( I have an amazing mechanic that just replaced them 6 months ago). When checking out he was anything but friendly and to top it off, on my way home my engine oil light popped on for a second when I rounded a corner! In the hour I was there I heard this gentlemen talk to several customers and his gruffness seemed to only be aimed at the female population. I already had plans for a routine maintenance this week with my regular mechanic, but I would beware if this place! As of note, 8 hours later when I went to get in the car to go to work the oil was dry as a bone! Took my vehicle in for new tires balance and alignment and well they put the tires on but never aligned the vehicle (per managers word) had to take my vehicle up there 3 times before they understood the vehicles wheel was turned to the right meaning there was never a alignment done. Tires are great but service really is not up to par with some of the other tire and mechanic shops in the area. I don't and would not recommend Firestone for anything. The only time I'll go back is to get tire rotation done per my warranty on the tires. Please don't waste your time they don't CARE at all. read more

Took it in for Virginia inspection sticker. It took them all day to even get around to it. I was there at 7 AM and second in line, and they called me at five in the afternoon to tell me I needed some lights. One was a light on the license plate, even though one was still burning. $2.99 for the bulb, and $12 labor to unscrew the old bulb and put one back in. When I told him it would take me 10 seconds to do that myself, he said they would put a rejection sticker on the car, and I would have to come back in and wait all over again unless I pay them $12 to unscrew the bulb and screw it back in. I think that's completely dishonest. Won't go here again. As the Bible says, if I can't trust you in the little things, I definitely can't trust you in the big ones. read more

My appointment was at 1300, and I didn't leave until 1900, after I left I noticed the steering wheel was shaking violently, but I proceeded to my hotel (Working contract work for the government in the area) I park, go in and sleep a couple hours before I go into work, and I came to my car and my tire light was on for a low tire, I proceeded to Firestone and told them the problem and they said they would "fix it", 5 days later it's still not fixed other than the tire sensor that THEY had to drive my car to the Kia dealer to get fixed. We brought our car here twice (oil change and brake work) and I have no complaints about the work itself. The prices seemed reasonable and the brake problem was resolved. It did take them a little more than half the day to look at the car. Time wasn't an issue for us, personally, but I mention it because it could be a concern for others. Been a long time customer but not at this location. Got a flat tire on a brand new 4Runner. April called and said I needed a new tire as it couldn't be fixed. That's fine I trust that so I ordered a $200 tire. I get there and notice my spare is a full tire. I asked why nobody told me my spare was a full and she said "that's not my job". I said switch those out and put the factory full tire on my car and use the one I just bought as the spare. I was fine just paying for that new tire to use as a spare even if I was mad they should have told me. The entire time I was fine paying for everything, just wanted an apology for a rookie mistake. If you have a flat, step 1 should be to tell the customer "oh hey you have a full new tire under your car." Asked around to other shops and they said that's standard HONEST practice. But they just wanted to sell me a tire dishonestly. When I told April "hey I know this isn't your fault but you understand I just bought a $200 spare I didn't need" she wouldn't reply and printed my receipt in silence. Then she said there was an EXTRA $20 charge to switch it back. The most smug unprofessional admittance to a lie I've ever seen. They purposefully charge you for a tire you don't need and then instead of apologizing they give this smug dishonest silence. April is completely dishonest and shady and, as an attorney myself, have submitted a complaint to the AG. Not that anything will come of it, but I'd enjoy taking it to small claims just because it's free for me.
