Patty's Bakery and Bistro was my latest find after a short search for a great breakfast. I was pleasantly impressed to find that a bakery had a menu that offered such a selection covering breakfast and lunch items. The location of the restaurant is not immediately visible from the Main Street. It was tucked away on the rear of a building creating a little challenge to find. My visit was during a weekday morning and no other patrons were inside. A completely empty restaurant is usually a cause for concern for me. Patty's is set up for orders at a counter in the back of dining room then take a number to the table for delivery. The dining room is very bright and simply decorated but spacious for a bistro. I ordered the Grandma's Morning Casserole and it was a solid 5/5 with great quality sausage and bacon. Everything about the dish is near perfect, especially the tasty crispy tater tots. My request for a croissant with the breakfast was honored and it was delicious. This gave me idea to check out more baked good from the showcase. I purchased a carrot cake to go and later wished I had bought two. The cake wasn't the traditional style with nuts and shredded carrots. Instead, the cake was the consistency of pound cake that came covered in a rich chocolate drizzled over the top. Such a nice looking cafe. When you first walk in there is a bright elegance to the place. Their signage outside & their website only says "Patty's Bakery" but they are so much more than a bakery! Don't miss that they are a "Bistro" also. The cashier/barista Laura was so friendly and we enjoyed talking to her. You order at the counter, water is self service from a water station and the food is delivered to your table. I was here for Saturday brunch & got the "special omlette" with ham substituted for the prosciutto. The ham is deli-type ham. The omelette was very flavorful & tasty, however, definitely thinner than I am accustomed to eating. It did not come with any bread option or side item so make sure you look at the breakfast side items (only located on the Saturday/Sunday brunch menu, not the main menu) or ask about side items. I don't have a large appetite & I must admit I was still a little hungry. I inquired about bread after I finished & they offered to bring me some toast but I was already done eating. I had a bite of hubby's breakfast sausage & croissant. I'm not a big sausage person but the sausage tasted smoky with a hint of sweetness and it was yummy! The croissant was also buttery & good. I'd add that to my omelette order next time. Of course we had to try some sweets since there were so many options. We got the carrot cake; it's Brazilian style, which differs from the standard American version. The cake had carrots only, no nuts, a little less sweet, pound cake-like consistency and topped with chocolate. I enjoyed it! I also got a chocolate cake slice to-go. It's super rich with chocolate filling layers made with condensed milk. A bit too rich for me but I'm sure others will love it. They also have coffee drinks and they are setup to do the basics drinks (mocha latte, cappuccino, etc) without all the syrup flavors. I ordered a cortado. Although it is not on their menu, the barista gladly said she would try to do her best. I provided directions on the espresso to milk ratio for a cortado & she absolutely nailed it. The coffee was robust & without the traditional vanilla syrup available, a little brown sugar added made the drink great. I will definitely return. I'll try their lunch menu next time. read more

What a complete gem this restaurant is. Actually it's a panderia that just happens to have the capability of fixing sandwiches and just wonderful wonderful meals. The ambience is lovely. Very elaborate Daely like and you can't help but be in Tran as you are surrounded with wonderful desserts which I will now go back for. You order with the cashier who is more than equipped to explain what the offerings are and then is kind enough to bring them out to you after you have ordered. A truly lovely experience. I had a salad which normally I would not have selected because there was a strawberry vinaigrette, which is not really my style however, it had goat cheese and I thought perhaps the offset of the flavors would not leave me with simply a sweet taste in my mouth. Suff that I was extraordinarily surprised at how well balanced the flavor in the vinaigrette was and how absolutely perfectly the goat cheese was I'm assuming flash fried. First of all, the food was pretty good! I liked the food. The reason it gets such a low rating is because of the service, vibes, coffee, and the fact that I don't want to go back. The service was ok. Everyone was nice, but it felt like the front of house didn't really know what they were selling. They couldn't answer very many questions and they were just kind of quiet, unwelcoming, and awkward. Also, I had to get up more than a few times to get things or ask for water or napkins or silverware or my coffee order. Overall felt very awkward and uncomfortable. Coffee was not great by the way. I wish I would have skipped it. I'd love to be able to support it. But based on my experience, I won't be back. read more

This experience was odd. The place looks beautiful and has a big selection of pastries. The menu is a bit too extensive. It is Brazilian but the staff would not explain what anything was (for those of us not familiar with Brazilian bakeries). The service was very awkward. The young staff seemed to have no experience in customer service. They didn't know what some items on the menu were and could not explain them. They instead asked if I spoke Portuguese. We were worried to order food since they didn't even know the flavors/ingredients that they offered. I asked for a coffee menu and was told there wasn't one. When I asked for a recommendation they only pointed to the special of the day. Only one of us got silverware. There wasn't water. We had to ask them to refill the pitcher. We had to ask for napkins. We had to get up again and ask for our coffees. The coffee was not good. The food was actually pretty good, but came out a little too fast. It was all very confusing. The tables were dirty. Also it was very overpriced. I really was excited to try this place but our experience was unfortunate. It looks like a nice family owned business so I hope they make improvements as it does have a lot of potential. read more

Walking in the door it's so beautiful and unique, and are immediately greeted by so many options in this Brazilian bakery. Including a custom coffee and drink bar. Pastries of all sorts, but the menu has so many layers you'll have to come back once or twice a week just to try all the foods! Sweet or savory, unique, authentic, and high quality foodie adventures with every choice. We had some cheese squares that included tapioca with a jam (incredible), a lightly fried dough ball with shredded chicken and cream cheese (amazing and unique), and mortadella sandwich, and Patty's crepe (wowza!). Everything we tried and shared was worth the visit, and now we immediately want to go back. They even have a small "store" for unique Brazilian foods you can find just anywhere. I am so proud to say that I actually started this establishment's Yelp presence, and they are doing fantastic! The place is crowded with happy customers, and they are gaining the popularity they deserve. Even though I had to stand in the longest line I've encountered so far, I am happy to do it! For all 28 years I've lived in Katy, I've missed the Brazilian-style French bread just as it's baked in my hometown, Rio de Janeiro. I've explored every possible option--occasionally finding decent baguettes--but never the small French rolls of my youth. Recently, during a conversation with the kind folks at Patty's Bakery & Bistro, I learned that they would begin baking Brazilian-style small French bread in April 2025. I kept in touch, and on April 16th, I had the pleasure of being the first to try their very first batch. They were so kind, they didn't even charge me--and the bread came fresh out of the oven, still warm. That first bite transported me: memories flooded back of breakfasts at my grandmother's house and quiet mornings in my first apartment with my wife. Truly, there is no difference between the best French bread I've had in Brazil and what I tasted at Patty's. I highly recommend it to any bread lover--Brazilian or not. Just be aware they don't bake it every day, so it's best to call ahead. You can even ask what time the batch will be ready to enjoy the bread fresh and warm! read more

At first glance it looked like it was going to be a great experience. The hostess didn't greet us properly and ask if we'd ever been here before. I asked of we should seat ourselves and was instructed to do so. We looked over the menu options, but no one ever came to take our order. Finally after 10 mins,I walked up to the counter to find out what we need to do for service. Another gentleman said we place order here. So I proceeded to place the order. The couple that came in after us got their food before we did. Then the waiter finally bought food with only one set of utensils. Food was subpar for the prices. The mango lemonade was bitter. If you are looking for your next celebration with your family and friends, this is the place to do it! We had our son's graduation party here and it was amazing! Initially, we met with Patty, which patiently guided us in every step. Then, she introduced us to Lillian, her party planner, which made sure every detail was checked, she not only helped us, but also was responsible to make sure our decorations were the way we wanted. While the party was going on, she constantly asked if all was good. Patty was in the kitchen, making sure all her delicious creations were being served correctly. Marco was talking with the guests and made everyone feel welcome. The staff is just great! They were smiling all the time, super patient and kind with everyone. We had about 50 guests and all came to me saying how much they liked the food and the ambiance. We felt home and left the evening with a warm brazilian feeling in our hearts. Last, but not least the cake was divine! It tasted super fresh, very moist and soft. I highly recommend Patty Bakery for a party or for just enjoy a good food with a great people! read more
