The homemade ice cream at Patty's Berries & Bunches is worth planning a stop when visiting the North Fork. I'm especially a fan of the peach, blueberry, blackberry, and strawberry flavors, especially when they're in season. You can enjoy the ice cream browsing the farm stand and they also have a great covered seating area with picnic tables and oversized lawn games, making it an easy place to relax for a bit if the weather is nice. Beyond the ice cream, I often leave with fresh berries, flowers, and whatever other local produce catches my eye. I haven't done the U-pick myself, but Patty's is a place I look forward to visiting. read more

My family recently visited Patty's Bunches and Berries to pick strawberries. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing due to the way we were treated by staff. My young children were excited to pick strawberries, but the extreme heat made it difficult for them to continue. Since they were unable to finish filling their individual baskets, we combined what they had picked and politely asked if we could exchange it for one of the many pre-filled baskets available at the front counter. We had already paid and were simply trying to accommodate our children's comfort and safety. The older blonde woman working at the front was incredibly rude. Rather than listening to our request, she raised her voice and spoke harshly to both me and my child. There was no reason for the interaction to become confrontational, especially when dealing with a family and a child who was clearly uncomfortable from the heat. Customer service and kindness go a long way, and unfortunately neither was shown during our visit. Because of this experience, we will not be returning and cannot recommend Patty's Bunches and Berries to other families. read more

Stopped by for the ice cream, they have fun seasonal flavors and some classics. I had the pumpkin puree and the basil ice cream and also got to try a bunch of flavors. My favorites (starting with best) were basil, peach, and pumpkin puree. It's very rich and one scoop is more than enough for each person. Most of our party were visiting from out of state did two scoops each because we wanted to try more flavors. They have a nice shaded seating area to enjoy your ice cream while enjoying the blooms all around. They also had some cornhole set up. Went with a friend, am pretty new to the area. Was excited to pick strawberries, and support a woman owned business. As others have said, their customer service could use some work. Yes, it was hot, and later in the day, but the women running the stand could have smiled and been a little more kind. We paid $10 per person, and were lucky to also get peas, because to fill 3 quart containers with strawberries, at the end of the season, would have taken hours. Approximately a 2 hour drive from Queens, Patty's is a journey but a journey worth taking for some fresh strawberries. My partner and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon with plenty of parking to choose from. There's a farm stand where you pay for your containers for pick-your-own fruit and vegetables. We came when both strawberries and sugar snap peas were in season and the container was $9 for whatever you wanted to pick. The stand also has baked goods that you can purchase and right next to the main stand is an ice cream stall that sells ice cream flavors made from farm fresh produce. We got three containers from the main stand and started picking. It was a beautiful day outside and we were able to get a lot of decent sized strawberries. The bigger strawberries are near the back of the field and we found a row where many people overlooked the big strawberries. If picking strawberries or sugar snap peas, prepare to get your squats in because both are pretty close to the ground. After we finished picking strawberries, we wrapped them up in plastic and put them in our car and went back to try some of the ice cream from the ice cream stall. The girls manning the stall were friendly and gave us two big scoops of cookies and cream and strawberry. The strawberry ice cream was really good and had actual strawberries in it. The cookies and cream was the lightest dairy ice cream I've ever while still being pleasantly creamy. You would think they didn't use dairy. We tried the strawberries in the car and they were sweet and juicy. I also think since they were minimally processed, the strawberries were soft and bruised pretty easily. Some of the strawberries in the bottom of our containers were slightly bruised from the weight of the strawberries at the top. Otherwise, they were very good and fresh strawberries. It's worth the trip from the city, especially if you hit a vineyard nearby before your drive back. read more

Oh boy. Against our better judgment we attempted Patty's one more time after the last terrible experience, and seriously wish we hadn't. The place is supposed to be a family friendly, you-pick farm experience and instead it's terrible vibes and nasty attitudes from the moment you walk in. Not a smile to be found on any of the multiple employees, and questions are met with one word answers, if that. Don't even bother speaking to anyone behind the counter at the ice cream stand, they hate life and everyone in it. Despite it being the end of the season with no visible strawberries in sight, we had littles excited to pick fruit so we paid the regular price of $10 a bucket, times three. We were told there were very little strawberries but we could "possibly" find raspberries and peas if we looked. While paying full price ( despite being told there were no berries to pick), one of the children asked for a honey stick (at fifty cents a pop). Because the total was already entered into the system, the response was that we could not add the fifty cent item to our order. Am I asking for handouts? No. Do I think you're a terrible person for not comping a measly honey stick to people paying top dollar when you know you have no product to justify that cost? Yes. We spent an hour or so in the fields and came out with barely anything, which I think should've been reflected in the price of entry. Patty's berries is out to make money off of unsuspecting people thinking they're getting a farm experience, and they're taking advantage. For example, the handmade, perishable wreath in the photo cost $100. With some supplies from Michael's crafts and a glue gun that should run you MAYBE $30. They don't deserve your dollar and they're nasty and ungrateful when you spend it. Patty's is past their prime and does not deserve your business. We'll never make this mistake again. read more

This is one of the only pick your own farms that operates on a Monday, for which I was eternally grateful. We luxuriated in the peacefulness of the fields, as we were the only ones picking berries on a scorching August Monday afternoon. The farm is open 9am-6pm, with 5:30pm being the latest when you can enter to pick your own fruit. Call them beforehand to find out which fruit is in season for picking. August 8th was perfect for blueberries. Entrance to pick your own field is $8, which gives you a small cardboard container for picking your fruit. The price is fair, considering the enjoyment you get out of the experience of eating and gathering fresh produce. The farm grounds are extensive, so you will get a good few hours of walking and relishing the surroundings. Blueberries were delicious--definitely worth the two hour drive from NYC. Raspberries and blackberries were just starting to ripen, although they were still bitter and too green for picking. Come back for those at the end of August. A few flower fields are also at your disposal after you're done with picking fruit and want a scenic photo session on the farm. Sunflowers, lavender, and a slew of other field flowers color the grounds. Porter potties are available by the parking lot. The parking lot is not that big [free parking], so if you arrive here on a weekend, during peak tourist times, you might not get a spot. There is a store/farm parking lot right across the road, where you can leave your car. You can purchase different fruit, flowers, cookies, honey, and ice cream at the farm stand. We had an amazing time doing the "U Pick" today at Pattys Berries and Bunches! There were tons of fresh blueberries ready to be picked and at $10 per person it was a great and affordable way to spend some time outside with our little one. I'd recommend checking out their instagram to see what's ready to be picked so you know what's available. We also had some delicious homemade ice cream before we left which was definitely something not to miss! I got the mint chip and my husband got the basil- both were delicious! 10/10 experience. I came mainly for that homemade ice cream! Each month features different fruits. July was blueberries and raspberries, but I beg to differ! The sign said "raspberries", but I only saw blackberries, unless we went to the wrong section. A lot of the blueberries and raspberries weren't fully grown yet, so the fun of it was hunting for the ripe ones. For $8, you get to put as many fruits as you can in your basket. There were also Sunflower fields for you to low-key take photos if you want! The ice cream did not disappoint! The consistency was more bits and pieces than smooth cream, but the fresh fruit bits made them extra unique! So crowded on the day I came here and they completely oversold admission. There were barely any berries to pic. Took forever to find strawberries and mostly small. This was out of 8 people in my group so it wasn't just me who couldn't find nice berries. If it gets too crowded they should either cut it off or sell their crates for cheaper. I came by about 10am so I feel bad for those coming even later. Not sure what they would find. The crates are $7 each. They had strawberries and snow peas/ snap peas when I came. They have pre-picked strawberries at the front that are much bigger and nicer for $7.50. If I known I would've spent the $0.50 and then go walk in the field for fun lol. They have an ice cream stand that doesn't have anything non-dairy. Not great for people with allergies. read more

Went for strawberry & back again for Ras/Blue/black berries picking .... Had an amazing time the first time we went for the strawberry picking, left with some very sweet and juicy strawberries ..... Not so much luck went we went for the Ras/Blue\Blackberries .... Keep in mind that it is best to go at the beginning of each fruit picking season to get your moneys worth and you'll always get more products in the very back of the fields away from the front. it could be a good walk, so if you have you g kids prepare for that ....Definitely make sure you get ice cream at the end and enjoy the seating and play areas. read more

We just left this place. We paid for 4 of us to pick strawberries on this beautiful day. We took the long walk as instructed by the young girl who we paid the $32 to. Once we got to our destination, we could not find any strawberries. We went back to the girl who informed us it was a busy day but there are no refunds. I explained that we don't want a refund, but would like to exchange the empty picking quarts for the strawberry quarts they had at the stand for $9 each. I was told that was not possible. I offered to pay the $1 difference for each quart, but was told once again there's no refunds. After much discussion, they gave us 2 quarts instead of 4. So these are the most expensive strawberries I've ever had. $32 for 2 quarts. The worst customer service ever! Suggest you head a little further down the road, much better strawberry picking. read more

Patty's has declined. Perhaps we went towards the end of the day, but it was more like Patty's Bunches of Patches. And when we did find a little bunch to pick from, there were slim pickings. Our family of four, with a basket per person, struggled to fill 2 baskets. We left the strawberry fields to ask the lady at the counter if we could swap our empty baskets for pre-picked baskets of strawberries, and pay the difference. Patty was extremely rude and did not even stop to listen to my case. She just brushed by and yelled, "I don't want to hear it!" My family and I come every year to pick strawberries. Between the slim strawberry pickings and abhorrent customer service, needless to say, we will never return. read more

We saw a few "pick-your-own" places, but then we heard Patty was one of the best spot for strawberry picking. So, we decided to try them out. They had a nice board at the entrance indicating which berries would (should) be available for picking. We walked over to the main building structure to pay for the berry picking. They had fresh strawberries right there also, if you'd rather just buy them instead of picking them yourself. We wanted to pick them ourselves, so off we went! The price was $5.00 per person, and they will give you a small container placed in a basket. Before we head out, we were told that most of the strawberries have already been picked, so we will not find many left. They recommended us to head over to the raspberry bushes instead, since they have lots of raspberries. We still went over to the strawberry fields first, and they were right, they didn't have much. It was really hard to find one, since they were all rather small, and hiding under thick leaves. The raspberry, however, were plenty. They had lots and lots of them, we were able to fill our container up very quickly. Even though we were disappointed that didn't get to do the strawberry picking in the way we thought we would, we still got some nice small strawberries, and we got so many raspberries that we didn't even planed of getting. Cute roadside stand that offers so much. Not only are the flower bouquets beautiful but they have gorgeous sunflower fields. They have an old tractor and an old pickup that make great photo backdrops. There is fresh fruit picking. The day we were there they had blueberries and blackberries available for picking. Have not gone a quarter of the way down the field and the basket is full. Maybe I'm picky but I went for the larger ones. Big sweet and juicy with plenty in sight. Dont know what it will look like after the weekend, but I got mine. Wasnt sure what I was going to get at the $7 entry for a quart but the basket holds a bit more. read more

My first time picking blueberries was a lovely experience. The farm is located a little past the Tanger Riverhead outlets. It was very easy to show up and pick the berries. I thoroughly enjoyed my two hours I had spent on the farm. I walked the entire length of the blueberry bushes to pick the best ones. You do have to just keep walking past the beginning and walk straight to the back- there were plenty of berries! There were other parts of the farm that I did not check out. Blueberry picking was my main goal. Most of the berries were in tact and free from pests. A lot of them were so ripened they fell from the bushes. It was nice to have the Sunflower field nearby to look at. The blueberries are generally well managed. The bushes are lined up in 3 rows. We walked down the right row and came back on the left. These blueberries tasted amazing. I am picky in regards to the selection of my fruit; these blueberries were perfect. I could have easily eaten my whole pint on the way back home but I rationed them for a few days. They kept well in the fridge and tasted great with my pancakes. We had an awesome time picking each one of them .. and couldn't wait to come home to wash and eat .. except as I was washing found 1 maggot.. so I was like that's weird. So I kept washing again .. saw another..., and another .. so got scared Was very disappointed .. now it's been a hr and still washing and reading many articles and suggestions.. trying all that and still seeing MAGGOTS how do I throw them away ... now that i have seen.. it's in my head and will be hard to eat them.
