I paid a substantial fee based on the expectation that I would receive diligent, informed, and reliable representation. Instead, I experienced poor communication, inconsistent information, and a lack of follow-through on important parts of my case. Throughout the representation, I was often told that evidence was being pursued from the city, but from my perspective that never actually resulted in meaningful progress. There were also serious issues with attendance and case handling. My understanding is that he did not appear at arraignment in my matter, and after I terminated the representation, a motion was filed that delayed proceedings, but he then did not appear for the related hearing. That added even more frustration and confusion to an already difficult situation. Another major issue has been the fee dispute. The written fee agreement described one arrangement, a payment receipt I received described a different refund calculation, and later correspondence referenced yet another hourly rate. After I terminated the representation on March 24, 2026, I repeatedly requested a full accounting of services and return of any unearned fees. Despite multiple requests and assurances that an accounting would be provided, I did not receive the full accounting I asked for. I also felt that the amount of work being claimed did not match my actual experience. Meetings were generally short, sometimes rescheduled, and overall I did not feel the level of service reflected the amount of money paid. Hiring a lawyer requires trust, responsiveness, and clarity. In my experience, those things were missing here. I am leaving this review because I do not want someone else to go through the same experience I did. My advice to anyone considering this firm is to get every fee term in writing, keep detailed records of all communication, and ask hard questions early.

Expensive, Slow, and the Agreement Already Fell Apart…read more I used Truce Law in 2023/24 for my divorce, involving both children and financial assets to divide. I worked directly with Justin. He is convincing, knowledgeable, and genuinely makes you feel like the collaborative approach will protect your kids and your interests. That pitch is what sold me. I wish the execution had matched it. The process involves paying for an entire team Justin recommends: a mediator, a Divorce Financial Analyst, and attorneys for both parties (including Justin himself). At the hourly rates involved, you expect competence. What I got was not meeting the expectation, at least from the Divorce Financial Analyst. The work product was so poor and unclear that I ended up rebuilding the asset division calculations myself from scratch, with full transparency and no ambiguity. That is work the analyst failed to do, repeatedly. Justin also dropped the ball on communication and follow-up. The agreement was not finalized on time. I had to push things forward myself over the Christmas break. His explanation was essentially that he was stretched thin across other cases. We eventually failed to have an agreement signed before the end of the year. The biggest promise of the collaborative approach is that a well-crafted agreement prevents future legal conflict. That promise has not held up. My agreement is ambiguous in key areas, and I am now dealing with exactly the kind of disputes they told me this process would prevent. Any vagueness in the document has become a point of contention. Long process, high cost, mediocre team, and an agreement that is already causing problems. I would not recommend this firm, do your homework.

Pros: They got the job done…read more Cons: 1. They are very unorganized. They usually put you on hold between 5 - 10 minutes to look for your case; and they charge you for it. They even charge me when they are asking about my military background when that has nothing to do with the case; and charge me for it. 2. I understand current eviction cases volume are very high and takes time. However, we were passed on to 3 different lawyers in the firm within 6 months and have to constantly resend them information when everything is already annotated sequentially. 3. They DO NOT get back to you. They sometimes get back to your email if you send them a follow up email a week after. If you don't follow up with email, they will not even get back to you. Calls are a hit and miss. Sometimes they will answer you and sometimes they will tell you they'll call you later. They do not call you. You'll need to call them.
