I got three wisdom teeth extracted by Dr Carroll in less than 10 minutes. He is super professional and very informative. His degrees speak for themselves. After having a very traumatic experience with another dentist in the past, where I got 1 wisdom tooth removed, it took me years to trust another doctor and remove the other 3 wisdoms. After doing extensive research, I finally decided to see Dr. Carroll. The way I found him was on Reddit, everyone recommended him on there and shared their experiences. Not only was the staff amazing & professional, but Dr. Carroll made everything more smooth and pleasant. Recovery was super fast. I didn't have to take any medication even though pain medication was prescribed. Also, I did all this with local anesthesia because I am scared of being put to sleep. One of his assistants stayed with me for the whole procedure and made sure I was feeling ok, I cannot recall his name but he was the sweetest and made sure I was calm, that's a plus! If you are considering extracting a tooth, do not hesitate to use Dr. Carroll. I 100% recommend him as am the type that has 100% anxiety when it comes to these type of procedures. Let me start with the positive: The assistant -- I believe her name was Yuliya -- was wonderful. She helped put me at ease, and the extraction itself went quickly and smoothly. Yuliya, if you're reading this, you'd be an asset to any dental practice. Five stars for your kindness and professionalism. The areas for improvement: * One of the front desk staff members, Alyssa (spelling?), came to review my balance while Dr. Carroll and Yuliya had stepped out. After sharing my payment amount, she looked at my X-rays and commented that I "actually needed two extractions today." I explained that I was only scheduled for one, but she continued to debate it. I found it uncomfortable and concerning that a non-medical staff member would make that kind of statement rather than checking with the doctor. * When I checked out, I tried to pay with my FSA card, which Alyssa said was declined. I asked her to try again since I knew the funds were available, but she refused and told me the card must not be activated. It later turned out the card was fine -- it has worked before other providers -- so I wish that interaction had been handled with more patience and professionalism. I shared this feedback with Dr. Carroll afterward, but the conversation didn't feel especially empathetic. I was hoping for a bit more understanding, especially around ensuring staff communication stays within their roles. In short: The clinical care was good, but the front desk experience left a lot to be desired. Had a fantastic experience with my wisdom tooth removal here. The process started out with a consultation and doctor has you watch a video about the risks of the procedure. He went over the anesthetic options (since I was only removing one I decided to go with the oral sedative). I made my appointment same day. I was extremely anxious going into the process but the oral sedative definitely worked. The doctor, his assistant and all the staff had great bedside manner and were very kind, the removal process was a breeze. I came back after a week to do a check-up and all went well. My dentist in Morgan Hill recommended Dr. Carroll for my 87 yr. old mom. She had to have 2 teeth pulled, both on the same side. My mom was very scared by having 2 done at the same time. I read the bad reviews about the office staff but that didn't turn me away. When I called the office, to make an appointment AND I had several questions for my mom, I was prepared to deal with a rude staff member, but that wasn't my experience. The staff was excellent, kind and very informative. We were on limited time to get this done, and they managed to get my mom in. On the day of the appt., the staff, office included were so kind and helpful. The doctor was very kind and gentle with my mom. My mom was getting a little anxiety, but they were great with calming her down. The first tooth was a little tough because it still had its roots. Once that was done, they let my mom rest for about 10 mins because of her anxiety. The second tooth was easier and much faster because it had been a root canal and it did not have any roots. When he was done, my mom was surprised it was done. They gave instructions of what to do and because this was on a Friday, were very helpful letting us know if there were any problems, bleeding or pain, to call the office and they'd get right back to us. Luckily there was no need to call. Mom followed all the instructions and only used Tylenol for pain, which was minimal. I highly recommend Dr. Paul Carroll. read more

However, the staff member who I have spoken too on numerous occasion has been extremely rude, short, disrespectful, and totally unhelpful. Second time visiting Dr. Paul for wisdom tooth extraction. First time only got removed one. Today I got removed three. Experience as the first time was above and beyond. Very professional, communication excellent about the procedure and post removal. All three were removed in about 10 minutes. Used local anesthesia and had no issues during procedure. It's only been 5 hours after extraction and I don't even have major pain. Very little and not even taking strong medication for pain. Just Advil. Highly recommend Dr. Paul Carrol. RUDEST RECEPTIONIST. I was referred by my dentist and the receptionist was so rude for no reason! I was calling to be scheduled as a new patient for a consultation and she got FLUSTERED when all I was asking were SIMPLE questions and kept interrupting me! Ma'am (i wish i got her name she never told me -just said the doctors name) if you hate your job that much please try finding something better for you that does not get you irritated or annoyed! I felt like such a bother to her when all I asked was to make an appt! I was not asking to squeeze me in or being difficult I don't understand why she got so mad. I was excited to be seen as a patient here since all the reviews are 5 stars but I refuse being seen since I had an awful call with the receptionist. I had to get my wisdom teeth extracted and was very nervous about it. Dr. Carroll and his staff explained the whole procedure during the consultation and the many outcomes the surgery can have based on each persons experience. Surgery day: I asked to be asleep for the surgery. All I heard/remember, post surgery was that it went well and it took about 45 minutes. Post surgery: I had the normal aches, pain and swelling for the first 4 days. I've had no issues post surgery and would highly recommended Dr. Carroll for any teeth extractions. I have had two extractions by Dr Carroll and and am in the process of getting two implants. It has been a very easy procedure for me, albeit with great apprehension on my part about the extractions and the implants. My last visit was to install the portion of the implant which screws into your jaw. I was astounded by how painless it was-and how quick. I had read about the process and had an idea of the physics involved in drilling and installing the base but was amazed by how fast it was done. Luby was terrific at explaining and answering questions I had earlier. When I was done, Luby said I looked fine and pointed out my jaws were not swollen due to the modern techniques. She said a few years ago, I would have looked like I had been kicked in the face which I thought was funny! Dr Carroll has called me after each visit in the evening to see how I was feeling. The next visit I make after a call from him causes me to have a warm and secure feeling that I will be getting a check up call tonight! I am so fortunate to be able to have him care for my oral surgery needs. OH yes! The entire staff is terrific-sometime before my implants, I had a call from a lady in the office whose name escapes me, and she wanted to order prescriptions for me early so I would have them when I got home. read more

do not come here unless you want to recovor from your wisdom teeth in pain. I have a high pain tolerance. I got my wisdom teeth taken out while I was knocked out about 5 years ago. When my sacs fully healed I noticed a huge cracking sound in my jaw. It gives me pain in my ears, and my migraines were pretty bad before, now they are 100x bad to the point where I constantly throw up. My jaw is always in pain ever since I got my wisdom teeth extracted from this guy. Do not go here. Do some more research on a doctor who has more reviews. Very terrible experience. read more

I honestly didn't want to be there (who wants to get their teeth pulled???) I had a partially impacted wisdom tooth that had a cavity. It caused so much pain! I was referred here my by my regular dentist!! The only down side was that he was so booked up my consultation was pushed about a month out. At the time my tooth wasn't causing too much pain and I scheduled my extraction for another month out.... unfortunately right after my consultation my tooth took a turn for the worst and I could barley make it through the weekend. I called Dr. Carroll's office and they ended up being closed for a whole week after Easter. The on call doctor was not much help at all, when I called he said "well there's nothing I can do for you since I don't have your medical records with me. Take your antibiotics and Motrin it should help." It didn't. Called again to see if there may have been another on call person but there wasn't. I ended up going to the emergency room because of this insane pain throughout my head and neck. They changed my antibiotics to a stronger dose which helped me get through the week after the 3rd day of taking them. Once Dr. Carroll's office opened the next Monday I called around 11:15 and told them I needed an appointment closer than 1 month away (which was my choice) they ended up having a cancellation and said they could see me within the hour!!! I went in, paid my out of pocket expense. Got seated right away and got my blood pressure taken. Nervous as hell and scared out of my mind Dr. Carroll's assistant stayed with me the whole time. From the shots to the after extraction care. She was the absolute sweetest. Made small talk, kept me company while I was numbing up, I couldn't have asked for better company in that situation. The extraction itself took about 10min to get the tooth out. It wasn't pleasant but I feel it went as good as it could have given the fact that I was getting a tooth pulled. I was awake the whole time but I made it through. Later that night Dr. Carroll called me personally to see how I was doing. Very much appreciated. I'm still healing and still in some pain but my overall experience was great. I'm glad I waited for Dr. Carroll and his staff rather than going to another surgeon. read more

His office staff are just as extraordinary. As a customer service supervisor in the healthcare industry, I can say that his staff are top notch. Dr. Paul J Carroll, DDS is the stud among specialists in his craft. I was supposed to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed today, but after a last minute consultation with Dr. Carroll; we decided to leave my big bottom right wisdom tooth - as it provided chewing surface and did not impact the neighboring tooth. *That right there, is one of the many reasons why I absolutely down with Dr. Carroll - giving honest advice and helping me understand future steps if I decide to do INVISALIGN* As a prefice - I am the biggest pansy when it comes to anything dental related due to childhood nightmares at typical Asian dental offices in the 90's. This however, has been my favorite dentist experience of ALL TIME! From the day that I came in to do my consultation and watched the educational video; all the way to the operation today, Dr. Carroll and his wonderful & friendly staff have made me feel so comfortable. The Extraction: My appointment was at 12:00PM - I was called in at 12:30PM because a younger patient was taking a while longer to wake up from his operation. 12:35PM - Last minute X-Ray to determine if all four wizzies needed to come out 12:37PM - Laid down on the chair, got the rubber band around my wrist to find that vein to insert the IV/drugs hahaha 12:38PM - I remember telling the staff that I felt like I was on ecstasy and KTFO!!! Around 1:30PM - I woke up, feeling no pain at all - just drowsy and euphoric from the anesthesia. I hit up my Mom who was picking up the prescriptions and we left as soon as she got back to the office. FIVE STARS all the way! - No Swelling, no pain other than aches which are inevitable. I even had a sideways grown tooth too and I'm not in any pain post-surgery. I can't wait to see the Dr. and staff again to say thank you during my follow-up appt. If you are nervous when it comes to Dental work like I am, then worry no more! I highly recommend Dr. Paul J Carroll for wisdom teeth extraction. Dr. Carroll is like the John Wayne of oral surgeons. He passed through the flapping doors; lassoing my tooth and wrangling that sucker right on out of there. He walks around like he earned his spurs because he's the best oral surgeon in town. I didn't feel a thing (the anesthesia or the single tooth extraction) and the procedure was over in literally 120 seconds, just in time for another stop at the saloon. He must wrestle snakes in his spare time for practice because that procedure was a breeze for him. I was referred to Dr.Paul Carroll Oral Surgeon for extraction of a broken tooth. I was quite anxious about the whole thing and wanted to be put to sleep for the process. He convinced me that novocaine and a calming prescription pill would do the trick. He was absolutely right! He and his staff were very friendly and supportive about my fears. It didn't take long at all and I wasn't anxious. They followed up afterward to ask how I was doing. I would not hesitate to go back and I definitely recommend his office. read more

I have no connection with Dr. Carroll other than that I had him extract a tooth. I used the Internet to find him based on location. I experienced no problems and had no negative impressions. The office administrators were friendly and competent, as was the assisting nurse, and Dr. Carroll and I had established rapport within seconds of him entering the room where the work gets done, partly because I made a deadpan joke about how I'd come in "right away" after my normal dentist told me that I needed to have the tooth extracted. (There had been a two year delay.) Dr. Carroll noted the date on the x-ray printout, said something like, "I see, right away.", and I became instantly 100% comfortable with him. The extraction was painless and unremarkable. When he was finished, I asked him when he was going to pull the tooth, and he answered deadpan, "Oh, how 'bout tomorrow?" At the end, he told me that he would phone me at around 8 PM to ask how things were, and he did make that call personally. I've had other good dentists. My one experience with Dr. Carroll, his nurse assistant, and his administrators was completely satisfactory. read more

OMG! I'm the biggest baby when it comes to dental work. I break out in sweats just thinking about getting my teeth cleaned and x rayed.........I was dreading coming to see Dr. Carroll! Dr. Carroll is an absolutely phenomenal dental surgeon, and his staff are equally fantastic. I was initially referred to his clinic by my dentist to have my wisdom teeth extracted, and suffice to say, I was terrified to meet with him. However, after talking with him about his experience and going step-by-step through the procedure, I felt absolutely assured that I would be in good hands. The next day, I opted for laughing gas (nitrous oxide) with the anesthesia, and throughout the operation, while I listened to music in one ear, he told me what exactly he was doing. He was also careful to avoid putting the tools or needles within my line of sight, so although I felt informed about what was going on, I never felt alarmed or frightened. I was actually glad that I opted to stay awake because the whole procedure was extremely interesting to watch, and because he didn't put me under too much laughing gas, I felt back to normal fairly quickly after the procedure. He even called that evening to check up on how I was doing (not as great then, but eh, that's teeth for you). I cannot recommend Dr. Carroll enough! :) read more
