The food here is very Midwest seafood. I got the lake perch which I typically don't have the opportunity to get outside of the Midwest. Most options are pretty greasy, the veggies were soaking in oil - which wasn't necessary. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The place has lots of tables and they are spaced out so you still get some nice privacy for conversation - the room was also pretty loud. Overall it was a decent experience and decent food, but nothing stand out.

Still the BEST seafood in Fort Wayne. And while it seems expensive...compared to some of the other places you get seafood in the Fort...they are really priced for the value & quality! The facility still has a lot of charm as it is an old house. The clean is always clean. The seafood market is very attractive displaying their fresh fish. And the market smells fresh without a fishy aroma. The service team is very friendly and welcoming. They worked to make sure you were served well. Our waitress was very in tune that it was our anniversary and we were not in a hurry to dine. All the mean selections are outstanding. The martinis are well made and great tasting! The crab cake appetizer was delicious. The dipping sauce was kind of a blend of tartar sauce with a hint of key lime. Very smooth, creamy and accented the outstanding seafood tastes and seasoning I. The crab cake. My wife always loves the walleye! It has just right amount of breading and crisp to go along with the very tasty fish. I always seem to get the jambalaya. I enjoy the seasoning blend and the fresh fish, crab and nicely cooked chicken & sausage. As I said...still the best seafood in FW! Give them a try!!

Paula's is one of, if not the best restaurants in FW (but ultra-expensive)... Haven't been to Paula's since moving back to FW... Stopped in on a Monday night and they were slammed (recommend a reservation regardless of the day of the week). The restaurant is still the same as I remember... Fresh/clean vibe with a modern feel. We were seated quickly and the service was prompt (our server was friendly and on-point). We ordered the chargrilled oysters (which were out of this world) and we both got the combination platter (almond crusted walleye, baked crab cake, and seared scallops)... The food was excellent, but "very expensive" - $230 w/ tip for two people (bottle wine, oysters, mains, and key lime pie). While the mains come with a salad (their house salad was awesome), bread, and choice of side, it's $50 a plate, which is a lot of $ for the portion size. All-in-all, Paula's was exceptional, but expect to spend a pretty penny when dining there.

I committed the ultimate crime....We all know it sucks leaving a box of leftovers at the restaurant, but when the food is as good as it is at Paula's you'll be left mourning your loss all week long. Seriously, that's how good this place is. This place debunks any notion that you can't find quality seafood in the Midwest, let alone Fort Wayne. We started dinner with a bottle of Pinot noir (that our server let us sample before choosing!!) and an order of the mussels. The creamy tomato-based broth was perfect for dipping the lightly charred, crusty bread into. Next we ordered the lobster tail and the combo platter with sautéed vegetable. The lobster tail was prepared perfectly and the veggies were downright addicting. The combo platter was the perfect option for indecisive people like myself because it comes with a crab cake, scallops, and almond crusted walleye! The crab cake was all crab, not loaded with bread crumbs like other places, and the walleye was killer paired with the jalapeño tartar sauce! I would order it again in a heartbeat! So excited to visit Paula's again, and i can assure you I'll guard my leftovers with my life next time. RIP.

So good! Definitely recommend a reservation. They were busy! Walking in, we were greeted promptly and shown to our table. You walk by the beautiful king crab legs and other offerings in the case on your way to your table. Our waitress was super all night. She quickly got our drink orders. Their drink offerings are awesome-cocktails, wine, whiskey, beer, and more. I tried a blueberry lemon drop that was delicious. We also ordered appetizers. The crab cake with jalapeno tartar sauce was amazing. The house salad with crumbled blue cheese and nuts was huge but delicious. I ordered the shrimp combo for my main dish. The almond shrimp and coconut shrimp were so good! My table mates ordered the combo, which had walleye, crab cakes, and scallops. So much delicious food...none of us could finish it! If you are in the mood for seafood definitely check out Paula's!

WOW... if you are a seafood lover I can not recommend this place enough! My meal was OUTSTANDING! I ordered a sort of seafood stew....LOADED with a huge crab claw, lobster, mussels, claims, shrimp and fish is an amazing broth! It was beautifully presented in a tilted bowl...I was so giddy when they set in down in from of me...beautiful! I sat at the bar, the bartender was delightful and honestly made the whole experience that much better. VERY friendly staff, everyone seems truly happy to be here. The ambiance is charming! HIGHLY recommend if you are in the Ft Wayne area!

We came in here to visit with some friends while I was in town from California. One of my friends who is a local suggested this restaurant. Also my mom grew up in fort Wayne and always remembered this place being good. We had delicious bread to start and me and my mom shared the sea bass. It was really good! My friend got the blackened salmon with the blue cheese crust and that was so good! My table mates got fish tacos and those looked so good. They also have a decent wine list. The prices are a little steep, but really good food!

Food and service was great. Nice atmosphere. I had bulobaise and my husband had the seafood sampler. The wedge salad was made with a half of romaine.

As a seafood lover, I was sold just based on the name alone The building itself is pretty cool. We were told it dates back to the 1880s and is the 2nd oldest building in Indiana behind some other one in Indianapolis. You can definitely feel the history when you walk in. The place is small, with only about 14 tables, and everything is packed in pretty tight, but that's part of what gives it character. The old bar immediately grabbed my attention and looked like it hadn't changed much in over a century We started with the Parmesan baked oysters, which were outstanding and surprisingly fresh for being in the Midwest The homemade clam chowder was loaded with clams and flavor. It was so good it didn't need anything added to it. We also ordered a couple of smoked Old Fashioneds that were a great way to start the night I wanted sea bass, but they were out, so I went with the walleye fish and chips. It's honestly hard for me to pass up fish and chips when they're on a menu, I'm glad I did. The fish was well-seasoned and on point My wife went with a seafood combo that included seafood au gratin, bay scallops, shrimp, crab, applewood bacon risotto, and baked in a lobster creamy sauce Being in Fort Wayne for just one night, this ended up being a great find. The food was excellent, the service was friendly (Shoutout Lindsay) and the whole place had a nostalgic feel that made the experience even better If you're passing through and in the mood for seafood or live locally, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.

Highly Recommended for Authentic Ramen!…read more I was looking for an authentic ramen place in town, and this spot came highly recommended--it did not disappoint! The Ramen: Truly authentic. You can tell by the broth, which tastes 100% homemade. It's not that MSG-heavy style that makes you want to drink a gallon of water afterward. I tried three different kinds, and all were outstanding. A standout was the cold noodle with a side of dipping soup--so interesting! You soak the noodles in the soup before eating. It might be a love-or-hate dish for some, but I found it unique . A Note: If you prefer a heavily seasoned, traditional American-style ramen (on the saltier side), this might differ from your expectation. Their flavors are more balanced and nuanced. Also Tried: The sushi was good--not outstanding, but reasonably priced with good portions and a fresh taste. Dessert Lovers, Listen Up! You must try the Fried Ice Cream. It made me feel like home! Hot, crispy, doughy outside with cold ice cream inside. So yummy!
