I had a really good experience here. I came here to repair my front bumper because it was damaged in a fender bender. Joe patiently explained to me what can be done to fix it and what the cheapest option would be. He was extremely competent and did not try to talk me into a more expensive fix. In addition, he worked with me to figure out a day when the car could be dropped off and worked on immediately, so that I wouldn't have to take a cab to work. This is my first time write review on the Yelp. I highly recommend this body shop. Owner Paul is a very professional, responsible and very humble person. I made a stupid mistake when I parked into a small spot on March 1, 2021, My right side door got damaged. I am looking for a trusted body shop to fix it include my car dealer to recommend one. It has now been ten years since my first review of Paul's Auto Body Collision Repair. Since then I got a new (at the time) car - a 2010 Chevy Camaro - and I have continued to be a loyal customer of this shop ever since. In the past ten years I have needed Paul's services a number of times and every time my car looks like new. Not only is the quality of Paul's work top-of-the-line, his prices are reasonable and he is a pleasure to deal with. In these days of large corporations and impersonal chain collision repair shops, I much prefer giving Paul my business and do so whenever the need arises. I feel that where the larger corporations are out to make the most profit possible from my business, Paul on the other hand is looking out for me. In my experience Paul has given superior customer service. I feel appreciated for my loyalty. On a number of occasions he has been kind enough to help me out by doing various work at no charge - the latest being removal of bird dropping stains that the car wash staff could not get out. Because this is a busy one-man shop, a limited number of jobs can be worked on at one time, and the work is prioritized. You may have to wait a while before Paul has time to work on your car, especially if it's relatively minor damage. But based on ten years of being a customer, it's worth the wait! read more

Paul did a FANTASTIC job on my 2016 WRX STi. Someone opened their door into the side of my car leaving a dent and scrape from the corner of their door. You would never know it had happened now. The previous reviewers weren't kidding. This might be the nicest guy ever. Puddy may be the only honest mechanic in nyc, but this guy is so nice I wanted to have a beer with him. Anyway, all I needed was to have a side mirror cover painted. Thanks to the snow, my driver side mirror was clipped while parked on Eliot Ave. Bought a replacement and needed the cover painted. I dropped it off midday and picked it up the next morning around 10. Price wasn't cheap ($75), but it's fair. No auto paint jobs are ever cheap. It's clear he knows his stuff. He was very familiar with the paint codes, knew my mirror isn't entirely painted (black base is unpainted, only the cover is), and made sure I knew how to change the mirror. Google doesn't plot the address correctly. It's not on 80th St., it's on Valentine's Place (the dead end street off 80th). Just like a doctor, I hope I don't have to go back to him, but I wouldn't mind if I have to. read more

The color Galaxy Gray is a bit tricky, but his work was flawless. He called me frequently to keep me in the loop, and did everything with my approval. I had an ugly dent the size of a softball in the corner of my trunk in a spot really tough to access since there was another sheet of metal layered closely behind that area. It's actually a spot that I dented twice. Along with the dent there was a thick gash of chipped paint running across it. Like the other reviewer noted Paul gave me a great quote, far more reasonable than I expected and even drove me to the subway after I dropped my car off. I absolutely could not believe it when I picked up my car. It literally looked brand new. I couldn't see a single trace of the dent or scratch. He blended it perfectly. I needed to get some work done on my car after rear-ending another vehicle, so I drove around Queens and got several estimates from the local auto body shops. Needless to say their numbers were insane and well outside of my budget...then I read about Paul's Collision Repair on Yelp and I figured I'd give it a shot. Anyways he took a look at my car and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. To put it in perspective, the next lowest estimate I received was almost twice as much, for half the work ! Unbelievable. When I finally picked up my car I was very happy with Paul's work. The front of my car (where all the damage was) looked better than the day I bought it. I went with paul after seeing all the reviews here and also after going to several other auto shops around the area. Paul quoted me by far the best price. Not only that he did a great job on my 05 Prius....... I needed to have both front and back bumpers replaced and also the rear view mirror glue back on after I foolishly used crazy glue and caused a sizable chip on the windshield. Paul (not sure what he used) worked his magic and somehow put it back on for me after all the other shops told me I had to replace the whole windshield. That alone saved me around $300...... Just keep in mind his shop is at an inconvenient location, not close to the subway. But its definitely worth the trek.. And don't be scared off by pauls colorful language! He's a good dude! I had some scratches and scrapes on my black Maxima and Paul did a great job of buffing them out and hand painting the scrapes. The cost was very reasonable and Paul took the time to show me how to do it and even sold me the remaining paint in the can so that I can touch up my car next time myself. Paul did a great job on my Subaru Impreza after I got sideswiped. He negotiated with my insurance company to convince them to write up replacement panels instead of pulling out deep dents. He also fixed a lot of other scratches and small dents that weren't part of the accident. He even glued together part of the rear bumper that had gotten knocked apart while my car was parked on the street. Paul clearly has been doing body work for a long time and knows his stuff. Because my initial write-up was incomplete, he was honest that things could be done the cheap way or the right way. Coming home very late one day, I got rear-ended by some guy who ended up driving off. My damage was substantial, but mostly concentrated in the back of the car. The other guy's whole front of the car was totaled. Not even sure how he was able to drive off. Anyways, I took my car to several body shops for an estimate, but ended up coming to Paul's since he gave a fair estimate and seemed to be a nice genuine guy. The car was done in less than a week and looking like it was brand new. Could not even see anything wrong with it. And I'm a perfectionist. So that says a lot. He does miracles! He even gave me a lift to train when I stopped by on one occasion to check out the progress. How cool is that? And recently, I had a minor accident in a parking lot where I scraped my driver's side door and took the driver's mirror off by hitting the column. Yikes... I was struck by stupidity one day parking in Manhattan and got the tip of my driver side door stuck on a tree and bent it very badly, my door wouldn't shut properly. I was heartbroken as this car is only a year old and is my baby. I found Paul on Yelp, all good reviews so thought I would stop by. He gave me an estimate in five minutes and said to bring my car by next Monday. I needed my car for a road trip that weekend, he said no problem. After spending a little extra effort in finding the workshop, I finally met Paul and he gave me the details of what he would fix as well as an excellent price (compares with the quotes I got from other workshops). With the good reviews, price and Pauls amazing knowledge about fixing cars, I decided to give a try. After one week, Paul called me to pick up my car. I was very surprised how good my car looks after fix. Paul not only did the work as discussed but also did a lot extra work outside contract with no charge. since the vast majority of the NYC Yelp community does not own a car, it's hard to find a good shop for car repairs as the reviews are few and far between. I gotta say, the small pool of 5-star reviews for Paul is spot-on. anywho, my new truck's front right fender took some damage recently and I needed it repaired. no major drivability problems but it wasn't aesthetically appealing. coincidentally, the following day I had off for a doctor's appointment, so I brought it in for an estimate then (Friday). he gave me an estimate on time and price, and seemed very friendly, outgoing, and most of all honest. since it's just him working here, he said to call back the next week (on Wednesday) to see about his schedule. I did, and he said he could fit me into the garage on the following Monday. brought it in at 6 AM, right when he opens; got it back Thursday afternoon. he did a FANTASTIC job, definitely. Glendale is a bit out of the way - it's like a half hour walk here for me - but for the quality worksmanship, honesty, and price that I got from Paul, it was worth the exercise! plus it's not like you're walking through any bad areas. it's fairly straightforward and there are a few buses that stop nearby too (if you know where the Atlas Park mall is, Paul's shop is a few blocks away). note that the entrance is on the tiny blink-and-you'll-miss-it street called Valentine Place. it's on your left if you're coming down Cooper Ave from Woodhaven/Metropolitan, so if you miss it, you'll have to do some meandering through the streets of Glendale to get back there. Paul is awesome. I bought my new Nissan Murano and didn't realized that there was old bird poop on the roof. I tried to removed the poop and found that it ate through the clear coat. To make a long story short, the dealer offered little help and I didnt want to deal with them anymore on this matter. Paul did a great job in the past on a part I needed painted for my Nissan Juke. So I went to him instead and he did a great great job blending the paint and buffing the clear coat so it looked like nothing ever happened. Paul also did the body work on my fathers 1965 Mustang, and the paint is flawless! If you have a classic car that you need body work on, Paul is your guy!
